Cherrybobs' food diary

I had an amazing first 5 weeks on Slimming World and lost 1st 1lb. Then I seemed to go off the rails a bit. One of the things that changed was that my consultant told me that I didn't have to do food diaries every week. I think that writing down my food (especially the syns!) made me more conscious of what I was eating.

I had a night out on Saturday night and drank too much, and then ate too much! So I'm giving myself a kick up the bum and writing down everything that I eat, good or bad! Feedback on my food choices would be welcomed!

Day 1

B= Alpen Light bar (1/2 HExB), banana, and a cup of tea (HExA=250ml semi-skimmed milk for tea)
S= Coffee and a satsuma
L= 2 x Quorn sausages (1 syn), yorkshire pudding (5 syns), Tsp of butter in mash (2 syns),gravy (1 syn), carrots and peas
S= Alpen Light Bar (1/2 HExB) and an apple
S= Tomato & Herb Mugshot and a satsuma
D= Crab and wild mushroom risotto (risotto rice, tinned crab in brine, frylight, onion, garlic, mixed mushrooms, fish stock cube) with salad, followed by a Mullerlight with blueberries and frozen grapes.

Total = 14.5 syns

I'm going to a Harvester for dinner so the plan is some kind of grilled steak (2 syns for oil), jacket potato without butter, and salad bar (2 syns for dressing).

Projected total = 6 syns

Hi Cherrybobs!

Food is looking great, I find it helps to keep a note of food too to stay on track. Hope you have a nice meal at Harvesters!

I was at a wedding yesterday so I'd already discussed having a Flexi syn day with my consultant (and avoiding what she calls the 'beige buffet!') but I actually found myself being pretty good. I've had to guess the syns for most of this. Let me know if you think I'm vastly off.

B - 35g bran flakes (HExB) with skimmed milk (HExA)
L - Roast beef with mustard (0.5 syn), really big yorkshire pudding (8 syns), roast potatoes (5 syns), peas, carrots, gravy (1 syn). Half a slice of wedding cake (8 syns?) and a black coffee.
D - Alpen light (3 syns), Muller Light, banana, grapes and an apple (I took my own food for the evening and avoided the buffet!)

Drinks - I stayed on diet coke or soda water all day as it was so hot that I was really thirsty!

Total = about 25.5 (a lot less than I had planned for, but mainly due to no alcohol!)

B= Small wholemeal roll (HExB), mushrooms, spinach, poached eggs, smoked salmon
L= Spicy sardine dip (tinned sardines, fat-free yoghurt, lemon juice, sriracha (0.5 syns)), cherry tomatoes, carrot, sugarsnap peas, mullerlight, banana, apple
HExA = 250ml semi-skimmed milk for tea

Dinner will be a chicken stirfry - chicken thigh fillets, brown rice noodles, green beans, sugarsnap peas, broccoli, carrot, chilli, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce

I'm off to the cinema tonight so am saving my syns for something chocolatey :)

p.s. had a Classic Magnum was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was only 12 syns!

Total = 12.5 syns

B= Small wholemeal roll (HExB), mushrooms, bacon medallions, and ketchup (0.5 syns for a tbsp)
L= Salad with ham and a hardboiled egg followed by a Muller light and some blueberries
HExA = 250ml semi-skimmed milk for tea

I've just picked up a massive reduced chicken from the supermarket so that's in the oven now with some Nando's sauce under the skin (0.5 syns per tbsp). Dinner will be roast chicken (skin removed), sweet potato, parsnips, broccoli, carrots and instant gravy (1 syn). Then I'll probably have a frozen Curly Wurly (6 syns) and some grapes later.

Total = 8

B= Alpen light (1/2 HExB) and a banana. HExA is 250ml semi-skimmed milk for tea.
L= Salad - spinach, sugarsnap peas, cherry tomatoes, boiled egg x2, leftover roast chicken (no skin) and BGTY Caesar dressing (0.5 syns) followed by grapes.
S= Alpen light (1/2 HExB) and an apple

I'm off to a Hungry Horse for dinner. I've looked at the menu and am planning on having the chicken skewers (2 syns for any oil) with Franks Hot Sauce (1 syn), a plain jacket and salad. I'm also planning on drinking Diet Coke. The friends I go with always order a starter platter 'for the table' which is over 100 syns!!! Using the syns calculator, the chicken fingers are only about 2 syns each, so I can have a couple of those if I'm really peckish!

Total = 7.5
