First day of the rest of my life

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, but have been reading some of your threads and you have all inspired me to start my own! :eek:

I started slimming world last week, but didn't have a great week so starting afresh today. I have only been doing it for just over a week so would be great to hear some tips from you all based on what I've eaten to try and keep me on track!! My main issue before slimming world is getting hungry and then eating loads of bad stuff! Also generally just love food.....

Today:
Breakfast
Mullerlight Strawberry Yoghurt
Bran Flakes 28g (HEXB)
Banana

Lunch
Jacket potato
Small pile of rocket, lettuce, radish, tomato and pepper
1/2 a pack of Tesco wafter thin roast chicken

Tea
Pasta, cheese (I think about 50g so HEXA plus 4 syns), baked beans

Snacks
2 x small nectarines
2 x handfuls of carrot sticks
1/2 pack of Tesco wafter thin roast chicken
Banana

Not sure whether to have some chocolate for a few extra syns :eek:

Any comments appreciated :)

So, yesterday I had:

Bran flakes (28g) HEXB
Muller light yoghurt
2 nectarines


Jacket potato and 300g cottage cheese (tesco healthy living)

Homemade potato wedges in fry light
2 x mini pork burgers (made with 5% pork mince)
Baked beans

Snacks = pear, banana, small slice of Victoria sponge cake (assumed all sins for day!)

Drinks = sugar free squash, 1 cup of tea with milk (part of HEXA....) and water

28g cheddar cheese HEXA plus 1 syn
Baked beans with chilli
2 x large beetroots
Squirt of low fat salad cream 1 syn

Should I be treating banana as free, super free or syn? Will have a couple of squares of dairy milk now to use a few more syns.

Drinks - 2 cups of tea (1 syn for milk), sugar free squash

Hi Ginger Nut Banana is just free.

You food is looking ok. Only one thing don`t guess the weight of cheese. You would be surprised how much it weighs.
Sometimes it looks like you are not having enough superfree. If you have any of the fruit immediately after eating you meal, that would count as part of your 1/3rd superfree. Sorry that was two things.

What day do you weigh? Will look in again very soon,. Good luck with your journey. xx
 
Thank you :) I do need to remember to be better at weighing things!! And I have been shopping tonight so have lots more yummy super free to go with my meals!

I weigh in on Monday morning, so hopefully will have done some good by then... I'm at a wedding on Friday but need to be restrained.

Have tried other diets before but get so fed up of feeling hungry. This seems to be a lot better so far although worried I'm eating too much but will see how the weigh in goes. Will be better with my superfree for the rest of the week too.

Your welcome Ginger, My weight loss is so bad at the moment - have done a diary for consultant this week.
I will weight tomorrow, not looking too good at mo.

Am away at the weekend so will pop in on Monday and see how you are doing. Good luck with weight and well done for buying the superfree. x

Rice, roast chicken breast (no skin but cooked off the counter at tesco so not sure if would need to be synned?) , 2 beetroots, a tomato and 3 spoons of tesco healthy living salad cream (3 syns)

Drinks
3 cups of tea with milk (part of HEXA), sugar free squash, decaf diet coke
 
Well yesterday I was at a wedding so wasn't great..... Although was driving so could have been worse!

Breakfast
Baked beans
2 eggs fried in fry light
1 toast no butter (HEXB)
An apple
Cup of tea (part HEXA)

Snack
Extra huge prawn thing in breadcrumbs with tiny bit sweet chilli sauce

Lunch /dinner
Tomato and roasted Pepper soup
Rare roast beef with mushrooms, gravy, green beans, carrots and daulphanioise potatoes
Chocolate cake pudding thing with vanilla ice cream
Mint chocolate thingy with a cup of tea (part HEXA)

Snack
Strawberry and cream ice cream in a posh cone

Other Drinks
Water, sugar free squash and 1 glass of prosecco

Hi there...just been looking at your food and overall it looks fine but i noticed, and i'm sure you'll be happy about that, that you've been cheating yourself out of 7g of bran flakes. You are allowed 35g for your hex b :-D

1 slice wholemeal toast with tiny bit of marmite (most of HEXB as from a big loaf)

Lunch
Small portion of pasta and 50g cheese (going to syn 40g as already had a bit of milk for HEXA, 7 syns)
Jacket potato
Beans
Lettuce and tomato

Snack
Apple and a few grapes

Tea
Homemade wedges in fry light
Lettuce and tomato
1 roasted pork loin oven with fat chopped off
3 spoons of salad cream (3 syns)

Sugar free squash
Another cup of tea with milk (part HEXA)

Still feeling peckish, having a hungry day, so going to have something else but will try and make it free to avoid using any more syns after yesterday!
 
Thanks lyricallie I will look out for it next time I'm in the supermarket! I don't mind Earl Grey without milk actually so could do that too.

Last night was a write off, basically ate everything in my house! Although majority was free - I sound like a right pig but in the interests of full disclosure I had a tin of beans, tin of spaghetti hoops, 150g low fat cottage cheese and 7 giant milky bar Buttons :-:)-(

So I lost 1lb.
Better than nothing I suppose! Although slightly disappointing I think I will try reducing my portion sizes a little bit and less grapes.

Congratulations on your loss! Any loss is better than no loss, try not to get disheartened.

id definitely say you need more super free in there, and try not to go too mad on the free foods. They're free but they do still contain calories!

Best thing is just to put it behind you. I also try not to keep sweeties and chocolate in the house as I tend to pig out on it. Something I've food which is good if you want a wee chocolate thing is the cadbury light Philadelphia. Which is 3 1/2 syns for 25g which is quite a lot!

Also lower cheddar is 40g for a hea so you feel like you get a lot more :D

I'm quite fussy about fruit but so far have been quite good actually!

Tesco sushi - nigiri smoked salmon and King prawn (not sure how many syns but haven't had anything else syns apart from cheese and a tiny bit of milk so hopefully not too many over.. Still naughty though)
