Healthy extras and pregnancy

Hi everyone. Joined slimming world group this evening and i have been told that i should only have one healthy extra a and one b just like everyone else. But quite a few people on my pregnancy group have been told that they should be having 2 hex a and b.

I know that i need to lose weight but dont want to do anything that deprives my baby of what it needs. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I was always told 3 of each x congrats too

Im just really confused coz it didnt seem right to me when she said it and i asked her again later and she said u dont need to do anything different. I might ring another SW consultant and see what they say.

Just checked on the SW website and they recommend you do EE and have 2 a and 2 b choices. If you go on the website and search for pregnancy in the features section there are some articles with good info. Congratulations :)

I know my consultant says that you should have more Healthy Extras when breast feeding but not when pregnant.

Congrats btw!

Thanks for the advice ladies... Tbh honest after todays eating im quite happy not having extras as theres so much food but i know the options there if i need it. I did check with another sw consultant n she said 1 extra of each.

In a way its good coz with the morning sickness sometimes all i can manage is a few rice cakes or toast so wud be good to hav the optional extra bread when necessary.

Thanks so much. Had my booking in app today n my midwife is very pleased with me so heres now to a healthy pregnancy :)

Hi, just to let you know that you can have 2 HEXA and HEXB on EE when you're pregnant. They recommend that you eat all or most of your syns too. There is no official guidance for green and red but I do green days and used to have an extra HEXA and B when I was pregnant so that's 3 of each. That's not official from SW though, just what I did so your mileage may vary!

Good luck with your pregnancy, there's lots of ladies doing SW during pregnancy if you have a look on the pregnancy without pounds section and the SW pregnancy section, I'm sure they'd all love to chat babies and diets with you! :) xxx

Yeah, just to echo what people have already said, try to use all of your syns, and 2 of each healthy extras. Good luck :)

Thanks so much ladies. I dont know if its just my diet lady or not but i told her that i have been advised that i should have the extras but she's said that i dont n if i do have the extras n dont lose weight then i wont get my money back coz i didnt follow the diet properly.

But to be honest im not bothered about any of it at the moment as im struggling to stick to it coz of nausea all the time. Im surviving on crackers n peanut butter on toast.

I feel tho generally ive never eaten so healthy in my life!

Will definitely check out suggested forums xx thanks guys

She's definitely wrong and there's a SW booklet about pregnancy that she should have given you too! That has all the info for doing the plan during pregnancy and breastfeeding and says that you should have the extras.

Honestly though if you have MS I wouldn't worry too much - just eat what you can stomach! I had awful nausea and food aversions when I was pregnant and I practically lived on marmite on toast, cheese sandwiches and salt and vinegar crisps for a while. I went off veg, yogurt and pretty much anything healthy so following SW was hard. Funnily enough I only started gaining weight once I started eating my normal food again so you might not gain as much as you think. Just eat to survive for now xxx

Hmmm i'll be sure to mention it as she didnt give me anything that says to have extras. And she didnt give me the thing to get signed off by my midwife. (Read about it on the website) She was shocked when i mentioned it. She said just tell her ur doing SW it'll be fine. I guess she just wasnt prepped for a pregnant woman in the group.

I think i will take it a day at a time :) hopefully in a few weeks i wont feel so sick and i'll be able to give it a better go

Thanks for your advise xxx
