Weetabix have announced today:

"We would like to share some good news with you regarding our Alpen Light Bars.

We are always looking to improve our offering and as part of our quest to create ever-better products, we recently made some changes to the range.
However, due to popular demand we have made the decision to switch back to the original 70 calorie Alpen Light bars that are acceptable Slimming World Healthy Extra B options.
This is because our customers' opinions are the best source of feedback for us and in this instance, the demand for the original Alpen Light bars has been too great to ignore.
We are currently working with our retailers to implement the changes and get the original Alpen Light bars back on the shelves.
We will keep you posted and, as always, 'thank you!' for your support and patience."

See what the power of customers can do!

YAY! I hope they don't think I don't want to buy them anymore but I have stockpiled a few boxes (..... about 20!!!) when they originally announced the change. I'll be a regular customer again soon ;)

Glad Weetabix have seen sense!! :)

phew panic Over!

Sent from my note 3

Wow - I am amazed. When you think of the costs involved in redesigning and producing the new packaging, all of which will now go to waste, not to mention the behind-the-scenes stuff which goes into formulating and testing a new recipe, that's an impressive u-turn.

Shows what can be done when we all make a fuss!!

Bit clueless here as only just started, which Alpen Lights are returning?
Thanks x

The same ones we had before. We can use the 70 calorie bars as HEB, but the manufacturers decided a few months ago to change the recipe, pushing up the calorie count, which meant they not longer counted as HEB. A lot of consumer pressure from us slimming worlders has forced them to scrap that silly idea and stick with the recipe we know and love.

It all happened very quickly so you might not even have noticed that they were gone -my own local stores never ran out of the 70 cal ones during this debacle.

I've just managed to stock up on the alpen light 70kcal bars at Tesco's not sure if they are the old one's or the new ones but they are 70kcal!

Oh I see! Thank you Peggydee, yes you're right, I didn't notice they were gone!x
