Potatoes as HexB on red day

Am doing a red day today and was going to have 200g of potato roasted (Frylite) with my roast dinner. I notice on the list that only new pots and baking pots count. Does it really matter that much how I cook it? I will leave the skin on so don't see why it would make much difference.

I am an online member so no group to ask - hope someone can help.

I asked this question the other day on the 'red only' thread and was told that several people do it that way, using a 230g baking potato to make wedges etc. and leaving the skin on. I seem to recall, from when I went to class in the past, that they were quite strict about you having only jacket potato or new potatoes as your HEx B on 'red' days but that was before EE so don't know whether it is 'allowed' now. Everyone who responded to me said that they do it regularly and it doesn't affect their losses - personally, I try to stick to it where possible but, if I was planning to do a roast dinner, I would probebly do exactly what you are suggesting. If you are having a roast, can you not do EE today - or have you already had your A and B choices?

The reason why you can only have the skin on the potatoes as a healthy extra is so you get the right balance of fibre in your diet, by taking the skin off it's not balancing the meal, that's what I was told as I had the same question in class years ago, hope this helps :) x
