decarb

Google it. Its a carbohydrate blocker. I really over do they carbs cuz i love um!! This is ment to onli let the body use so much of it!! Its abit like wat ali does with fat! X

Oh right! that sounds odd idea.

On sw, you are allowed free foods freely, and I was a green day girl and would go mad over carbs but still managed to loose weight well, and still do now on EE with plenty of carbs. Have your weight losses slowed down which is why you looked at this?

I would suggest that SW by its self should not need extra medication or help as it does work, and if it has slowed down for you then there may be things which can be adjusted before going to things which may have terrible side effects. Like ali, if you are not using it where does it go?!

Hope that doesnt sound to patronising, its not meant to x

Yes my weight loss just isnt happening any longer, iv tried red weeks too and nothing shiftin. If it doesnt get used it jus passes through.

No it doesnt sound patronisin but when uve tried everuthin else! Iv tried ww and atkins, n last resort is going to c my gp. But my daughters health vistor suggested decarb! X

Do you do a food diary or go to a group? If you do has your Consultant had a look, and if not post it on here and let people have a look. Sometimes it can be a really small thing which can change from a maintain to loss. It may be something else other than carbs like bread, could be hundreds of reason unfortunately but I now keep a diary of every single day so if a week doesnt go so well I can look back and see what changed, and how I can improve.

I know with ali it "passes through" as oily substance and the stories I have heard really would put me off, and so just as a warning I have not heard of this one to know whether this does the same.

This is from a newspaper article on them - they are made from white kidney beans apparently

But Dr Carel le Roux, an obesity specialist at Imperial College London, says any product that can reduce carbohydrate consumption so dramatically should be treated with caution.

'Reducing carbohydrates in an overweight person's diet can be very helpful to lower blood sugars,' he explains.

'But a product that can lower absorption of carbohydrates by 66 per cent may have significant side-effects, as the unabsorbed food would have to be excreted with smelly consequences.

'The body may sense through the upper part of the gut that carbohydrates were consumed, but if it is not absorbed the body may increase the cravings that lead to over-consumption.

'Most worryingly, what happens after the treatment stops? The body is likely to rebound, regain the weight lost plus extra weight, resulting in yo-yo dieting.

'If you can't take DEcarb long term it should be avoided because the risk of gaining weight in the medium to long term may be very significant.'

Doesn't sound like anything I would want to take! And if you've done atkins without success I don't see how this would help even if it does do what it claims to.

What height are you and what is your target weight? How much do you still want to lose?

I agree with the custardlipstick (great name by the way!) that you should post your food diary.

Thanks for putting the science behind my claims! To me SW should be a natural diet. Lots of things to try before pills.

I have, it's much cheaper than delobster;)

Unfortuantely if this is a joke it went straight over my blonde head! I really need to become smarter *bashes head against wall*

Sorry never tried it but just seen your stats and wow you're tall! Lol

13 feet tall? I don't think so.

I would not want to take any product which claimed to interfere with the natural digestive process. I would be too worried that permanent damage might be done.

If you have tried so many diets and not lost weight on any of them I would suggest a visit to your doctor.
Of course the common factor here with them all is you . If you are sure you are following any diet honestly, unless there is something wrong with you, you must lose weight.
If you decide to go to your doctor ask for a thyroid check as an under active thyroid can inhibit weight loss.
Are you taking any medication that would stop you from losing weight ?
It is impossible for so many diets to fail, if you are sticking to them.

I am shocked that a health profressional should suggest something like this.
