Week 3 and have blown it already

I went to an impromptu party last night and must have consumed all my week's syns in alcohol and food (I enjoyed it tho! ). I can't believe that any chance of weight loss this week has gone. I feel like saying, what the hell this week but am here to ask advice on damage control. My weigh in day is a Thursday so I have until then to do something, anything to at least let me stay the same on the next weigh in. I'm not doing brilliantly at this... week 1 - 2.5lbs off, week 2 - stayed the same (stuck to it 100% tho )

    Thoughts?

Learn from it, draw a line under it, myself I wouldn't have any syns all week now, and would try filling my plates with at least half superfree food ,drink plenty of water. And dance about the living room every night or whatever exercise you do. X

Bunnylush is right - draw a line under it and move on. A 2.5lbs loss in your first week is great, and maybe there were reasons you STS in week 2. You can do this - just forget about last night and focus on trying to get a loss in the rest of this week.

Thanks Bunnylush. Needed to see that in writing, if you know what I mean! It would be so easy to just write off the whole week but will get back in the driving seat and see what happens on Thursday...

Then next time there's a party you will be able to decide whether it's worth all week, going without syns, living off veg and dancing about in a sweat all week it's easy fro me,I'm anti social

Ha ha Bunnylush! That was the first social event I have been to for a long, long time...and it was just a family thing. It just sort of happened.... I am a bit anti-social myself, by default It's actually no wonder I went overboard!

But, yes, it's always a good idea at the time... it's dealing with the consequences that is the difficult part

I've just had 31 worth of syns in mcdonalds, and had more this morning. it's my daughter's birthday. I'm not intending to go zero syn for the next half a week to WI, but I am going to be good.

Don't worry- we all do it. Stick to plan for the rest of the week and try to have "smart syns" instead of plain old syns. If you need something naughty, look for an alternative. Maybe increase your superfree to 2/3? Whatever happens, if you put on at weigh-in I think the best way to deal with is to hold your head up high and say:

"I went on a night out and had a bloody good time!!"

Nobody will criticise you because,as I said, we all do it! And if anybody does then that person clearly doesn't have a life. By the sounds of it, you needed a good night out
Don't dig your grave with your own knife and fork!!

    as above, draw a line

I'm with flibsey, I wouldn't restrict syns either, just stick to plan, you've still got 4-5 days to recoup a loss,

imagine you've got a vase of flowers, one dies.... you wouldn't throw the rest away would you? think of your SW week like that, a one night syn fest is just that a one nighter you've still got the other 6.5 days of the week xx

    I DID IT!!!

Look at it as "it's only week 3 of 33 (for example), plenty more time to make things right!"

First goal: BMI under 40 - achieved 20/2/12
Second goal: lose 1st- achieved 13/3/12
Third goal: waist under 40"-achieved 13/3/12
Fourth goal: get into 16 stones-
    Fifth goal: lose 1.5 st-

Lost nearly a stone on slimming world but was seeing it as a quick fix solution and my mindset was negative...now following the basic principles of SW but with a few changes. It's a whole new lifestyle

Some people can get away with one night a week going off plan... I haven't tempted it too much, but I do allow myself a treat after WI without counting the syns. I still manage to lose.

Well done you! See it's not all bad...just keep on track now for next week.

Remember...when you step off the scales you step into next weeks weight loss.

    I like that thought!

It's always good, after a weigh in, to think that I can start the week with a clean sheet (and up to 105 syns )
