I work night's over Xmas, usually work 10pm til 8am.

I would usually wake up at about 8pm, get dressed and eat "breakfast".

At about 2/3am I'd have "lunch".

When I get home about 9am I have dinner and go back to bed!

I find eating breaks up the night and helps me stay awake by having routine. Also if you find yourself struggling, a really quick tip to wake you up is pop to the loo and clean your teeth, or have some very minty gum.

I've done it not sleeping the night before, normally the first night shift I work at work during the day (9-5) then stay up and then go to my nightshift (10-8 ) but in all honesty you will not be able to do the day before and then all night and then the day after as well. You are really going to struggle. I find after about 26 hours of being up ie 7am Monday - 9am Tuesday if I don't sleep I start hallucinating lol
