    Actifry / Airfryer

    Hullo all,

I have some vouchers to spend and hadbheard various people talk about actifrys and airfryers but I am pretty clueless about them! I was wondering which you guys think is best? Also, can you do stuff other than chips? Do you have to syn the oil or anything?

    Thanks!

I have the Airfryer which I got for Christmas. So far I have cooked chips, SW KFC chicken and Butternut Squash chips in it. I have also cooked chicken drumsticks. It cooks quickly and is easy to use and things tend to come out more crispy than the oven. I use frylight on the food before putting it in but you can put food in dry or use a tablespoon of oil and syn it. You can also use it for roast potatoes which are sw friendly.

Hello hollynan, I have so far cooked chips using potatoes and butternut squash with frylight and neither stuck to the airfryer. The only thing that stuck a little was the coating from the KFC chicken as the food sits on like a wire mesh but it came off really easily. The bits pull out and can be handwashed or placed in the dishwasher and so far I have not had to use any elbow grease hehe

Not sure this varies from the actifry? I have never used that one, just the airfryer.

I got an airfryer just before christmas & think there's only been 1 day I haven't used it! I've used it 3 times today (sausages for kids breakfast this morning, roasted veg for tomorrow then SW chips using frylight for dinner tonight) I love it! Got it for £90 from Currys too, bargain!! X

I am going to use mine tomorrow for making the tesco light choice sausages for the first time, mine also came from Currys for £90.
I am also going to make the sw scotch eggs tomorrow and am hoping that I can cook these in the airfryer? I am imaging they will hopefully come out nice and crispy :-) When I used to make them in the oven they came out lovely but I had to turn them half way so the airfryer will stop me having to do that.
