Thread: Black beans

Can anyone tell me in what section of asda I will find fermented black beans. ...pls excuse my ignorance!!

They are sold in tins & usually down the baked bean isle, sat with the chickpeas etc.

The ones you get in the beans section in sainsburys/asda are not the same AFAIK. If you're after fermented black beans, you're best off trying a Chinese supermarket. Fermented black beans are soy beans I believe and different from the ones you get in a can. I'm pretty sure that's right anyway - husband tried making black bean sauce with the canned ones and it was a bit of a fail x

Thank you. I couldnt find them at asda and wanted them for beef in black bean sauce from Asia cook book. I will try the chinese wholesale place...thank you!
