Lives here....
So here's the thing. Christmas means pressure. Food needs to be good, presents need to be good, demanding three year old, hungry husband, inlaws and the 'rents coming in the arvo for tea and cake.

I want maximum impact in the outfit stakes rather than falling back on jeans and a top with some glitter as a nod towards the festive period. Last year I shoehorned myself into a stretchy dress and now dread to think how it looked at the time :(

anyway I want some ideas. What is everyone wearing, something nice, something SMALLER? Something comfy? Nothing? ;)

I'm birthday shopping with my best friend on Thurs and have agreed that I need to look for something too so this my project and I want it to be a size 14!!!

Comfy trousers, glittery top. Lots of eye makeup.

Bit concerned about all that pressure, though. Do you have to do all that AND look good? Are you getting any help? Is hungry husband helping with the food? If not, why not? You need to have fun.

Hahaha helping with the food. I want to make it to new year....lol

i was being relatively tongue in cheek, its personal pressure really. I've been working so hard I want to look nice and effortlessly so!! :)

We don't 'dress up' as such but this year I'm knitting us all Christmas jumpers as a surprise, and they WILL be wearing them otherwise I'll go for jeans & a sparkly/christmasy top.

You'll want something comfy & warm, how about jeggings & a nice floaty Christmas/sparkle/special top something to flatter your shape.

When you go birthday shopping with your friend try on stuff you wouldn't normally wear, you may not like it but try the styles & see how they fit. I've just bought this for nxt weekend as we're going to a retirement do, I think the shaping at the front of the dress can be flattering, whilst pulling in a nice waist shape.

This! It's a size 10, the top fits but I need to lose another 7ish lbs for the skirt to fit. I'll wear thick tights and knee high boots too. We're going out for christmas lunch so I want to look nice. If this outfit fits I will be over the moon as the skirt is my 'target' item

They are both really gorgeous outfits. :)

Maybe I'll get a onesie ;)

Love this idea. I don't usually dress up much but I do always wear new clothes that I get from my parents as presents. Usually a jeans and too combo. This year I am hoping for a onesie too as that will be my outfit I think haha. On a serious note it's my 30th in a few weeks and I have no idea what to wear - or even if I can afford anything new or not. So I'll keep an eye on this thread for ideas! :)

There's a website (where I got my dress^^^) just google everything for 5 and it should come up. My items have arrived today & I'm pleasantly surprised at the quality.

Ive heard of this! A friend had some trainers. I'm checking it out!!!

Omg omg.
This is AMAZING

lc707a.jpgThis is mine, in a size 14! If somebody had told me three years ago that I would be wearing a dress in public I would have laughed let alone in a size 14 :)
