Motivation tips?

Hi Girls (and guys too!) Just wondering what people do for motivation? I currently have a 'Goal Chart' on the wall which i tick off when i lose and i keep my certificates on the naughty cupboard. I used to keep 'thinsperation' pics on the wall too but that just made me feel crappy.

What do you do to keep you motivated?

Sammi xx :D

I have my award certificates up on the kitchen cupboard as well. Having them out reminds me just how well I've done so far and keeps me focussed. I also have daily motivation quotes/tips in a folder on my computer... my desktop background cycles through them.

I just remember what my goal is and imagine how I'll feel when I get there, I imagine what I'll buy when I can walk into a shop and not worry about whether things fit. I imagine going out and not panicking that people are staring at me or talking about me. That's what keeps me going!

thankyou for your comments :) Ive seen that some people put the pounds they need to lose in a jar and the pounds these lose in another. That seems like a good idea.

I'd be forever raiding the jars!

My motivation comes from the wonderful feeling of being able to choose anything in the wardrobe in the morning and not worry about it being too tight or uncomfortable. I love that feeling so much, especially when I am running late and can grab anything and throw it on. It keeps me good. Also I am suddenly needing to go into my storage and dig out my skinny clothes that have been packed away for ages waiting for this day.

I find that my fat photo stuck on the fridge is also helping me. When I see what I used to look like I'm ashamed.

The comments and compliments from Mr Peggy, especially the unprepared "Wow!" I got recently when I recently put on a rather business like LBD for a parents evening. I thought I looked professional, he thought I looked sexy.

And finally its the greater confidence and comfort and enjoyment I feel when we .... er .....well, you know  ;) . Not having to think about sucking my stomach in lets me relax and enjoy the moment.

Peggydee I loved your motivation tips!

For me, I keep a running list of all the reasons I want to lose weight and keep it on my phone. Every time something new occurs to me, or I'm in a new situation where I feel uncomfortable because of my weight, I add it to the list. It's getting pretty long!

I like this one too. I cannot carry my fridge around with my fat photo, but I can carry my phone around.

I have a pretty jar I've made that I put a £1 for every lb lost.... it has £41 in it and I love seeing it getting fuller. also have a plaque on my wall that I write how many pounds I've lost. I love changing it each week. although if I've put on I leave it as it was :)

None food treats for every stone award, handbag, necklace or dress etc works for me. I can't have it until I reach the mibi goal:)

I love goal charts! I'm a bit of a geek at heart and love numbers so if I can see the weight coming off on a chart I'm a very happy bunny!!!

I also do a lot of visualising in my head- it's a really powerful tool to visualise what you look like now, followed by what you want to look like, and keep that image in your head while you see yourself doing everyday things :)

Thanks everyone for your idea :) Feeling a little deflated after a maintain so reading all these has defo given me a motivation boost! xx
