Adding tickers on ipad app

Does anyone know how to do this? I am using the iPad app rather than the full website but I can't see anywhere on the profile page to add a ticker?

Also, when I write a post/reply I can't see any emoticons to add? And the ones from built in keyboard turn into ?'s on my posts?.

Any ideas?
