September Money Challenge

I know there`s a few days left in August but I thought I`d set up a September money challenge!!

I`m on holiday the first week of the month but have already saved my spending money and don`t intend to dip into the housekeeping! :)

On my return I intend to save with a vengance.

Everyone`s welcome to join!!

You said the 'C' word!

Seriously, it's good to plan ahead if you can.Having said that, I set up a savings plan in January to ease the pain! I'm still hoping not to use the whole amount so that the remainder can go in the holiday fund.

Well, I`m on hols on Monday and already in holiday mode.
Hope I don`t undo my hard work foodwise!!

Got my spending money all sorted in advance so don`t need to dip into my wages that went into the bank today.
That should help towards saving in September!!

Wow that's fab, did you have a nice time?

I won £25 on the premium bonds in July & August & only found out when I logged on yesterday, it's re-invested and thats the money I use for holidays.

Yeah, had a great time thanks! Been there before. It`s a lovely place and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Brill news on the premium bonds.Pity it wasn`t the jackpot!! :)

Yep, it all helps!!!

Might get hubby to check his bonds!

Could do with a windfall as got some serious footy subs that need paying!

ha, ha, I get an email when I've won, but didn't for July's and only found out when I checked the email for August's win!!!

I've only got £224 left for the month as our electric/gas bill came and was £124.I thought it came in Oct. :(

Oh dear, and easy mistake to make. Hope it`s gonna be ok.

That`s partly why I have everything on direct debit.
I know it means I`m paying every month but it keeps me on track.

Oh no  I hate it when that happens. There is never a good time for an electric bill or any other come to that! I'm sure that you will manage if you are careful. I'm being so careful with the electric EDF will probably think I've moved out ha ha. I'm joining the soup challenge next month, that should help with the expenses.

Don't remember seeing a soup challenge!

Def wanna join!
Gonna buy a soup maker on ebay this week.
I'm not very good with a stick blender. Soup ends up all over me and the kitchen!
Not a pretty sight!! :)

Just been reading Martin's Money Tips & one of his points was switching energy providers he said:-
"See if you're one of 3.5m owed £200 million. Many people are in credit when they switch energy supplier, but outrageously many firms operate a "don't ask, don't get it back" policy.

If you've switched in the last six years, it's time to ask for it back as your old supplier may've pocketed any credit you were due."

I find it shocking that energy providers don't automatically give you your money back.
