Slimming World and Joining the Gym @ 21 stone

Hi, im a new member.

I'd really appreciate any helpful tips. I joined SW a few weeks ago and have managed to lose 10 lbs. I started at 21 st 12lbs, and am now 21 st 2 lbs. I am joining a gym later today and really want to lose lots of weight and tone up too. I was wondering will the gym work speed up my losses or make them slow down ??

I have no experience of this as I'm away to join a gym as well but what I would say is if they slow for a couple of weeks then it will catch up. That's what folk at group have said. I imagine that when you have a fair bit to lose, like I do too, then it shouldn't impact too much x
 
I joined the gym at just under 25 stone. I did notice my losses slow down for bout 3 weeks which was really disheartening, as I hated the gym, but I knew exercising was good for me - after the few weeks my losses really speed up and I've been losing well every since. I've lost 2 stone in 12 weeks. I think it's important to look at it that exercise will totally change your shape (definitely take measurements before you start!) and you feel it sooo much quicker in your clothes when you're working out. Plus you see progress in your fitness, what starts being your workout will be your warm up one day!

I think it's just your body adjusting. Just make sure to drink plenty of water and don't run before you can walk. build it up.
