Apologies if this has already been discussed but I'm starting SW again and am very tempted by the Tefal Actifry.. Can I ask if anyone's got one and opinions please? x

I have one, they are very good, making lovely chips. I often do a mix of parsnip, sweet potato, carrot and normal potatoes, sliced round because I like round chips. I also cook them in the oven though, with just a few squirts of fry light. Not sure there's a great deal of difference in the taste. perhaps the Actifry uses less power than putting the oven on for the time needed but this is just a guess.
You can also cook prawns, chicken etc in them and it doesn't seem to dry them out like an oven can sometimes.
if you can find one on offer, I'd go for it!

Hi thanks girls for the response.. I'm very tempted. Will prob order one tonight on Amazon, wine in hand etc! I just seem to order loads of gimmicky things that never get used. I've looked at the reviews on Amazon and they're all pretty positive. If it makes life easier for cooking then I think I'll go for it.. Very tempted to get a soup maker as well to get some healthy soups made...x

I have recently bought a soup maker, well, actually my husband came home with one and my initial reaction was 'what on earth did you waste money on one of those for when we can quite easily use a saucepan?' But, I have to say, I find it very good. It makes soup in 20 mins and makes just the right amount so y don't have to find room in your fridge for a big container of soup that you might not get round to eating.

Have just ordered a soup maker today - the morphy Richards one. I went for a "used" one from amazon for £27, not bad. And I've persuaded my other half that we "need" an Actifry. It's pay day tomorrow so I think he'll order one.... really looking forward to it all arriving x
