Just a quick pre weekend question- has anyone found very low syn sausages??? I refuse to waste nearly 5 syns on a clonakilty...... -Hodgkins Lf ones in Teaco only have 40% pork would prefer more meat content - so was just wondering if any one has any suggestions?
Thanks
Sheila :)

sorry i havent but if i do ill let u know..i tried the quorn ones and they are horrible!! :(

I'm the same - not had many sausages since being here and I miss them!! I prefer 70+ meat as well, I'm fussy when it comes to meat lol! xx

Also can you get Quark here? xx

Also can you get Quark here? xx

i buy quark in dunnes stores in kilkenny.our sw consultant got a petition going and eventually got it stocked.im not sure if you have it in cork though. if not maybe u could do a petition too :)

Our local Tesco suppsed to be working on getting quark 0 % fat yog mug shots etc- I won't hold my breath:rolleyes: Would be great to get locally.
I am lucky that it just under an hour to Eniskillen and Asda- and also have a friend working in Eniskillen so gets me stuff when I need it!!! Didn't get my Asda wholemeal pittas today- forgot to order:mad: so will have to wait another week.
Ah well...

hi girls. can I join the gang? Im in Dublin, started mid Jan...and its sooo easy! loving it
our Dunnes have started doing Quark - they keep it in the fridge beside the laughing cow cheese, so have a look next time youre in. OMG I made the SW cheesecake with quark last night...eh, and the night before, its sooo lush.
Dunnes and our supervalu also do the weight watchers sausages...dunnes keep them near the coleslaw...not in the suasage section (go figure!!) and the best thing is....they are only 1/2 syn each.and not too bad, they are quite spicy, perfect with the weekend fryup!
so what good things are in asda? Im going up to Strabane in a few weeks, I want to load up the car. I know about their pittas and the tins of lentil dahl...anything else I should be looking for?
debs x

Cheers for this - I'm gonna look in supervalu and dunnes this weekend and see if I can see the infamous quark lol - desperate to try it! xx

I'm up in Belfast :D

Aisling I can't believe you didn't like the Quorn sausages - I only tried them for the first time when I started SW and I can't get enough of them. I'll never eat a prok sausage again :D

I've bought Quark twice now, would you believe, and both times I've had to dump it in the bin because I've not known what to do with it and it's gone off. Gonna have a go at the cheesecake soon, plus going to buy Scanbran this Wednesday at weigh in - seen some nice cake recipes with it :D

The scanbran is hard work lol - I got mine from Holland & Barrett, takes some getting used to, but I might try it in some recipes too as it will probably be nicer xx

Aye I've seen it and it looks like a bit of dried bark off a tree or something, but I noticed people were soaking it in water.

Found these:

Fudge cake

Syns: 12 Syns for the whole cake!

You will need:
5 Scan Bran, broken into small pieces
1oz/28g sieved icing sugar
2 level tbsp golden syrup
4 tbsp artificial sweetener
2 beaten eggs
1 pot quark skimmed milk soft cheese

Method:

1Soak the Scan Bran in a little hot water until soft.
2Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
3Place in a parchment lined loaf tin and bake at 190ºC/Gas Mark 5 for 30–35 minutes.

LOWER SYN CHOCOLATE SCAN BRAN CAKE

(8.5 syns in total)

5 scan bran, doused in a little warm water to soften (2.5 syns)
1 tablespoon golden syrup (2syns)
3 LEVEL tablespoon cocoa powder (3.75 syns)
1 tsp coffee powder
1/2 cup granulated splenda
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 tsp baking powder (0.25 syn)
3 beaten eggs

Combine everything together in pyrex quiche dish and bake in microwave for 5 mins or until set. Cool in fridge.

So I'll get the scan bran on my WI on Wednesday and give it a go :D x

aww please forgive me haha.i dont know what it is i just cant like them they taste too fake :( i dont even eat pork anymore either hun my husband is muslim and they dont eat pork so i dont even bother with it anymore!
yeah i found a couple of scan bran cake recipes i really want to try too i must buy them at weigh in tomorrow!

Debbie- I haven't been in Asda for a while - I spend waay too much money- so I avoid it!! My friend shops for me- I mainly stick to geting Mugshots, quark, 0% natural yogurt or 0% greek yogurt- havent got the pittas yet. Have to go to Dunnes at weekend - so hopefully will look for ww sausages- tried the quorn ones- but ok they were edible but not sausages. I seem to be obsessed by sausages- lol- I don't even eat them too often - would just like to have an emergency pack in freezer!!
Lolacola- I have to admit to having to dump the quark- i brought one into class one night for the goodie box when I knew there wasn't a hope of me doing anything with it.
Another peeve with me- saw it posted somewhere here it €1.99 in Dunnes and it 70p in Asda....
Let me know if you make anything nice with the quark
Have to make pancakes with kids today......oooooooooooh Nutella in the house ......

Just thought I would post- Tesco are doing pre-prepared fruit 2 for €4 euro. I find this great for lunch when I'm working with 0% fat yogurt!!
