Hi I am new to the forum, and actually excited to be joining. It seems like a good place to vent, or talk about the good things that have come from weight loss. I am doing Slimming world as it really worked for me 5 years ago when I was living in the UK. Problem is, no one has a clue what it is over here. Plus the online option is a bit pricey for me, so this I think will be my main source of support! At least I hope so..
Look forward to trading recipes, worries, tips, and congratulations with all of you!

Welcome, I've been here for one day and I love it, so supportive, so much to look at :D Good luck for your weightloss

Hi Bonni, and welcome.
I shall be interested to watch how you get on with SW over there. I have been staying fairly successfully at target now since February but we are coming over to Van in July for 3 weeks and I have to admit finding comparable food items that fit the SW guideline is a bit worrying.

Hiya welcome to the forum =) lots of lovely ladies n gents here to help you reach your goal! Good luck!!=)

Hi Bonni and welcome! Well you certainly came to the right place for tips, advice or just to vent :D. This site has taught me more in a few weeks than being at class. It's quite funny as my consultant has congratulated me on getting to grips with the plan so well. I daren't tell her I haven't learnt a thing from her, which really is a bit sad. Next week may be my last week at group and I may just stick with these guys as the site is brill :).

So good luck with your journey, can't imagine why SW hasn't gone international, but their loss is your gain (or loss..if you get my drift) LOL.

And a big big welcome from me too! We are all on here to help each other. Sometimes we debate issues, sometimes we dont always agree, but the one common thing we all have is we wish to lose weight and we are all passionate about S W. I myself am at target, have been for 18 months, but still go to group every week as I am part of the social team. I love love love S W and love helping people, and indeed people help me too. Its a wonderful site with some truly inspirational people on here. Again a big hello and welcome!:D:bighug:

Hi
I know this is an old post, but I've just joined this page, and I am also in Canada and thinking of joining slimming world.
My cousin, who lived in England, has had amazing success with it. I just wasn't sure how easy it would be here in canada. Do you recommend using the site or just doing it on your own.

Any help/suggestions would be great!
Eileen

Hi Eileen!

I'm also in Canada (originally from UK) and have been following Slimming World from over here. My Mum & sister joined a slimming world group back home and both lost quite a bit of weight. I have just being following it on my own by getting recipes off the SW website as well as the many, many recipes on here! If you have a look through the threads (it can take a while as there are LOADS!) you'll find so many meals that you can plan your meals for weeks! There is a lot of support on this site so it's great when you need encouragement to continue!

There is also another user on here (BritMumInCanada) that has a site called slimmingeats.com that is a great source for slimming world friendly recipes!

Hope this helps! Good luck!
