Eating out in Ireland

This is a long shot but it is worth a try. Just wondering is there a restaurant in Ireland who do cook specifically slimming world recipes, I have mentioned to two friends of mine who are chefs would they ever and they both were not inclined to doing that.

I know, in general, eating out is possible to stick to your syns as a few weeks ago I went out for lunch in a local carvery place and they steamed the rice and vegetables and grilled the salmon steak, I had a completely syn free dinner (but not dessert !!!).

Its so hard to find a place that does Anything remotely syn free. I do find godvindas and cornucopia (spelt wrong) do food low in syns as they are vegetarian places and they have really healthy menus. They also cooking things specific ways :)

Since this post I have discovered one or two places that do cater for syn free meals. The franchise company mixgreen (there is one in Athlone where I live) do cater for slimming world but apparently they dont tell the syn value for each meal but I'm sure if enough of us mention this then I'm sure they will put up the syns in each meal (here is hoping anyhow). There is a restaurant in Mullingar called the Amber Court, it is a chinese restaurant and just under two weeks ago I went there and the menu did state if a meal was syn free, all I can say is it was fab, I was totally stuffed and I even had a half bottle of white wine with it (I also did the dirt on it and drank a lot more wine later on and went totally over my syns and was up 2Ibs last week) but if you could control your alcohol after then this is just perfect

Peachdream, the best way to find out is by asking your own consultant. I know that Chinese in Mullingar, they sat down with a consultant from there and worked out the syns or how to cook the food slimming world style

I think going by the books though, the best option for eating out is a Chinese, look at the back of the book and see what is the best option to go for

There's also a few restaurants in Balbriggan doing it. Sun value sprinted in their menus and even in the butchers!!!!

Thankfully there's a good few places in Drogheda that do SW 'inspired' menu (they're not officially recognised as SW so have to be careful with the words!)

Bru, Ming Garden, Borzalinos, Artisan Cafe, West 29 and Simona have syn (type) values to a decent selection of their meals..

So nice not to have to give up takeaway altogether!
