Hi I've been going to slimming world since February, I've lost nearly a stone (terrible I know but had 3 weddings and 2 holidays during this time!).

I have done slimming world before and lost 3 stone, this time I need to lose 3 stone again!!!!

However, we have been TTC #3 since September, with no luck, until I got a positive result yesterday, after AF was 3 days late!!!!!

I still want to continue with slimming world as in my other pregnancies I put so much weight on and really don't want to this time.

I bought a 12 week count down last week- obviously without knowing!

Do pregnant mums do anything different and can I still lose in the first 12 weeks?

Firstly, congratulations! I remember you from the ttc forum, it's awesome how many of us from there have fallen pregnant in the last couple of months :D

I've been doing SW for over a year now and was on the verge of my 6st award when I found out I was pregnant. I'm nowhere near it now lol! I lost 7lbs between weeks 5 and 7 but then the extreme hunger and nausea kicked in and since then I've just eaten rubbish. Baby needs carbs and salt so I've been destroying toast, pizza, crisps and everything else I shouldn't!

I had four weeks off WI but now I've had my dating scan I'm going back to SW tonight to face the music and to hopefully try to minimise my gain in the 2nd tri. SW won't offer advice on losing while you're pregnant but they will try to support you eating healthily where you can. That's my C's line anyway and I'm happy with that ;)

SW is not much different when you are pregnant - if you do EE you should have 2 x HEXA and HEXB instead of 1 but other than that it's the same. There is no guidance for green or red annoyingly so I give myself an extra HEXA and HEXB too as I only do green days. That's not strictly correct tho so don't follow my example lol ;)

I'm almost the same as you busy bee mummy.

I joined about 4 weeks ago, even bought a count down this week.

Discovered I was pregnant this morning.
I had only lost 6 lbs in total!

I am obese so could really do with loosing a few pounds too!

I want to continue with SW I would also like to loose s few pounds too!

I'm still feeling OK, not over hungry (well any more than normal!) I'm back of holiday today, and going to try and get back on to slimming world from Monday.

I need to try and keep a lid on my weight as I'm over 14St 7lbs as it is!

I'm glad there are others in the same boat, as I've not really told anyone yet, apart from mum, sister and in laws.

Trying to keep it from my 2 dd's is so hard, as I know how pleased they will be, but going to wait till 12 weeks.

Hi, firstly congrats :) I'm 24 weeks pregnant and on slimming world and so far no gain :) I'm only -3lbs on pre preg weight but I haven't stuck to it as well as I should x so I decided this month I'm going to have the best slimming month x if I can do it anyone can :) x

I know a girl I worked with was obese to begin with, she was quite big. She did slimming world all the way through her pregnancy and had a beautiful healthy baby. She weighed the same at the end of her pregnancy as she did at the start. Which is pretty amazing. Then she obviously lost a lot of weight in the weeks after giving birth. She looked like a new person.

Hello ladies sorry to jump in!

I'm in the same boat, I joined SW to lose weight so we could TTC. i'm overweight, and also i'm about a 1/3 way through my 12 week countdown.

Is it safe to carry on losing weight whilst at slimming world and pregnant? Or do they prefer you to STS? (only just found out we having #2 :D)

I really wanted to be in the lower 16st range before catching on but we were blessed early but i'm still wanting to get there? (selfish i know but i feel i will be much more healthier there for the both of us)

Drs have previously said at this weight i may have problems giving birth! Which worries me ALOT

And help and suggestions would be muchly appreciated :)

I think they like you to sts but I have big losses some weeks and nobody has said anything x you need consent off your midwife but I think as long as you're eating still they tend to be ok with weight loss x

I think the pressure on mums with weight is sometimes a bit OTT! I was pushed to be consultant led as my BMI was over 30 when i had my booking appointment (i was over 20 weeks preg at this though due to my LO hiding in my tummy without me realising!)

I really DO understand that you have to be healthy and the pressure of labour on your body is hard, but if you are healthy it seems so OTT. I was nearly 18 stone when i gave birth and had actually been put back to midwife led because they were so unconcerned.

Each hospital has different BMI's that they work from though - i swapped hospitals during my preg (due to a house move) and my new hospital were much more relaxed over BMI.

Congratulations to all the bumps! xx (big kiss)xx

I know this thread is from ages ago but that is exactly what I needed to read today - thanks for posting this Ellebear :) I've had a crap day and needed to get a bit of perspective!

I'm looking at being back at around 16 stone by the time baby comes in 10 weeks-ish, started SW at 19st 6lbs and my lowest weight pre preg was 18st 8lbs. I have days where I want to kick myself over how much I have put on (over two stone so far) but doing SW has just felt impossible at times. Can't remember the last on plan day I had!

Luckily my midwife has been great and although I'm consultant lead it's not because of my weight (they work from a BMI of 35 where I am) which is something. :)

I need to remind myself that while baby doesn't need chocolate and crap, I also don't need to beat myself up about my weight gain either. And I know how to get the weight off once he's here! x
