I'm really interested in buying a slow cooker so that I can prepare my food the day before and put it on to cook on a morning before work. I think this would really help keep me on the straight and narrow.

Does anyone have any good delicious recipes for food cooked in a slow cooker????

I made this in my slow cooker last week - it was lovely:

Ginger Spiced Pork

Black Pepper
680 Grams Casserole Pork

Sauce:
1oz Flour (5 syns)
1 Level Teaspoon Ground Ginger
¼ Teaspoon Tabasco Sauce
1 tin chopped tomatoes
4 oz Button Mushrooms
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tablespoons Splenda Brown Sugar (2 syns)
2 Tablespoons Vinegar
2 Cloves Garlic
1 Bay leaf

Method:

Lightly Brown pork in a pan & season well.

Mix all the other ingredients except mushrooms in a separate pan & heat through until simmering, pour everything into a casserole dish add the pork & mushrooms, cook at 160c for 1 ½ to 2 hours.

Serves 4
Total Syns 7 allow 2 syns per serving

Thanks guys they look great.

Have loads of veg and beef stewing in my new purchase as we speak.
I can't wait to get home and smell the aromas drifting round the house. :D

i love mine - i have a beef and ale stew in it as i type. 4 syns for hte lot as i used half a bottle of ale in it :)

I'm only sinning my stock, is that right?
Other than that I only have beef and vegetables in it.

Lamb Henry - well from my shop anyway - is just big chucks of lamb - kind of joints that are marinated in Garden mint...

I just chop two large onions, lay them in the bottom of slow cooker, place the joints on top and cover half way with stock - that's it

I did try adding chopped carrots one time but it changed the taste too much, so won't be trying that again..

Sounds yummi.
I love minted lamb.

I filled my slow cooker with stock, maybe too much. Will see when I get home.

Stock cubes and powder are now free on SW, this changed a while ago.

From the website:

Stock helps us cook healthy meals from scratch and adds flavour to dishes with very few calories. Traditionally only chicken and beef Bovril in jars and Vecon vegetarian stock have been Free and some of you have let us know that you’ve struggled to find these in local supermarkets.

We’ve analysed the calorie content of all stocks on the market, and because the difference in calories is relatively minor we’re now making all varieties of stock Free! This includes common brands such as Oxo and Knorr stock cubes, bouillon powder such as Marigold Bouillon and liquid stock concentrate and ready to use liquid stock.

That's brilliant.
Thank you so much.
So basically if I was doing EE all of the contents of the meal is free and I could even have potatoes with it.
