Chocolate pudding, I loved it.

Thanks to whoever put on the chocolate tofu pudding, it really hit the chocolate spot.

1 Packet of Silken Tofu (free)
4 Tbsp unsweetened Coco powder (1.5 per tbsp)
Sweetener to taste

Blitz in a blender all the ingredients, thats it, so very chocolaty and you cannot taste the tofu.:sign0151:

I reckon it gets better overnight in the fridge too , i've used it quite a lot , i think the coco powder gets absorbed by the tofu and brings out the flavour when it's left for a while.mmmm nice with fresh strawbs too:eating: nom

Hi k dee if you back to the threads section you will find a whole thread on this subject. My c did a taster session at group last week as I had taken the recipe in and everyone loved it. However, on Wed she texted everyone (yes 116 of us) to say that she now believed the syns were actually 11 just for the tofu. She said its something to do with it changing syn values once it is blended! Piplatts on here rang the syns hotline to be told it should be OK because we only eat small quanties so not to worry. I have been totally confused with this so I rang them as well to be told, once you blend and change it into a pud it becomes high syns as you can over consume. So the confusion continues! Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. However, my c said its 11 syns for the tofu, 2 syns for the cocoa so by my reconing you could still have a portion for 3.5 syns. We will have to get to the bottom of this I think. Perhaps if you ring the syns hotline they may tell you what they think again. As I say if you do a search on here there is a whole thread on it. I will still have it occasionally because as you say it is totally gorgeous. Dont like the quark alternative, as I dont like the sour taste coming through. Please let me know what you think

Omg I've had this twice this week? Could someone let us know once we have a firm answer on the syn values? X

I think to be the safe side you should syn it - it still makes it relatively low for a chocolate type pudding.

I can't understand it...silken tofu is SUPPOSED to be BLENDED! That's how you use it! It's not as though you're trying to do something with it that you shouldn't! All beyond me I'm afraid...

OMG, thanks for that information. Like you I'm not keen on the Quark. I will have to look into this but I think it will be one of those that we never get tot he bottom of! There was me thinking I'd found a chocky heaven dish :cry::wave_cry:

No point in asking on here as unforunately we don't make the decisions. You need to straight to the horse's mouth and explain that there have been two conflicting answers from SW HQ and ask for a definitive response along with the reasoning behind it.

I used to do a chocolate pudding which was similar using very low fat fromage frais, sweetned with Canderel and then I would add a sachet of Cadburys highlights (2 syns) or Options Belgian choc (2 syns)

Hope this helps

I put some orange essence in and it really reminded me of a Cadburys chocolate orange, very yummy! I used a hand blender and it went silky smooth in seconds! Gotta go...choco fix calls... :17729:

Hiya

It is called silken tofu and is with lentils and dried peas. It's not refrigerated and comes in a tetrapack. Hope that helps :)

I tried and tried to get the silken tofu, searched the aisles where it should be. as seen on here before, shop assistants thought I had 2 heads and said' no don't have that' so I got a refrigerated packet of cauldron tofu. And just tried halving the recipe so as not to waste the lot. I tried some with cocoa, some with hazelnut options and some mint options. Was really very nice so Im wondering now what the silken tofu is like. Will keep looking.
