Thread: Easy Tomato Soup

♥ Easy Tomato Soup ♥

2 cans tinned tomatoes
1 can Baked Beans
1 small can carrots
2 small or 1 large pickled onion
Sweetener to taste

Blend them all together until smooth and then simmer to warm through. Tastes just like Heinz tomato soup.
I sometimes add chillies to it for an extra spicy taste too.

Think I might try this but baked beans ? In soup

that must be what gives it the heinz taste!

I tried this soup was on another thread and its quite nice although Im not a tinned tomato girl but it was ok. The beans when blended give the soup a nice taste and a texture almost like lentil soup. Give it a go and lets know what you think.

pickled onion?? has anyone tried it with and without? doews the pickled onion make much of a difference?

Wondering about the pickled onion aswell Not sure I want to buy a lot of them jsut for 1 or two

Im glad you bumped this thread up as its reminded me to cook it again because it's yummy

Ive not tried it without the pickled onion but I suppose you could do it without or use a normal onion instead too xxx

Ooo it's been a while since I've made it but from what I remember it was two to three servings, all depends how much you want to eat of it really xxx

Well I went to the supermarket tonight and got the stuff. Made it and its quite nice! I put in 3tbsp sweetener and not sure if that is too much lol I got 2 recipes confused :P but anyway its really nice and hubby likes it too. It makes loads aswell so we had a big bowl each and some in the fridge for another day. Will be nice with a SW friendly bread roll

im really pleased you enjoyed it, it's such a simple recipe but tasty, if you like it spicy next time try adding some chilli powder and that's lovely too xxx

My consultant made this this week and brought it into class, I bought all the ingredients on the way home from class, I'm going to make it for lunch today :-) x
