Help Needed - Best Low Fat Spread for Baking

Stoffie

A curious kitten!
Help! I'm not Gods gift to baking and I'm wondering which is the best low fat spread to use?

I'm trying to make the Strawberry Cupcakes on the SW website for the Group SW Women of the Year party we are having next week.

The recipe just says 'low fat spread' but from reading around I know that due to the water content of this type of spread I may have a baking car crash on my hands!

Any help would be appreciated. Sorry if this has been covered before but I cannot find the answer on the site.

Im sure flora light would be fine as i have used this in baking a lot of times ...good luck with the women of the year tasting..im sure it will be a good day

I use Clover Light (may be 1 syn more but in my opinion better baking results than Flora Light - tastes better on toast too!)

Flora Light says on the tub that it is not suitable for baking but I know lots of people use it and it works fine.

I don't bake very often but when I do I use Butterbuds from lakeland.

My Nan always used to use regular clover for all her baking so I can't see that the lighter one would be much difference, 25g is 5.5 syns for the lighter. Hugs Crystal xx
