ok so ive been doing sw for about 5 months now i joined sw because i love to cook and sadly my body hated the food i was cooking.

i could live in my kitchen creating (and sadly eating)
:wave_cry::sigh: my creations all day.

there are alot of sw ers that eat alot of mugshots and packet foods im sure they are ok and if they work for you thats great but I LIKE REAL FOOD (not powder) so i am starting this blog with all my fave super tasty super healthy sw recipes

i will pretty much eat ANYTHING except salmon and spam so i do have a very varied diet oh and i love my spice curries mexican etc

i try my recipes out on my friends and they cant believe my meals are DIET meals because they taste good and fill them up.

if i dont enjoy what im eating i end up binging on junk later on so for me it has to be tasty and filling or theres no point

JUST BECAUSE IM ON A DIET I DONT NEED TO EAT BLAND TASTELESS FOOD

i have to savour and enjoy it after all its fueling my body only the best will do.

so if you want to see and make my fab recipes and pictures i will post as i cook even the basic meals i make as its always nice for inspiration when your stuck in a rut

Oooh i cannot wait for that recipe!

I too am like you! I adore cooking and i am SUCH a foodie (although now in a good way!) we too don't eat packet or processed foods (on the whole give or take the odd meringues nest and my lown syn treats!), although i am happy for those people who do as it may be more convenient for them, or they may genuinely like the taste of mugshots, pasta n sauce etc.

Good idea! x

i do have some packet foods in my locker at work for EMERGENCIES like if i forget my lunch but i dont enjoy eating them :( and they sit there for months untouched

Ha ha! I live in my kitchen too! MIL says i have the biggest spice rack she has ever seen in her entire life pmsl!

TBH i do buy stick cubes, tinned tomatoes, baked beans, etc etc so thats not entirely true! And shock horror the kids have frozen goodfella pizzas and the odd box of waffles or fishfingers - they are kids after all! BUT they'd prefer me to them a chicken curry, or jackey potato and chili, pasta bake, salmon that type of thing! (which is pretty good for a 3 and 8 yr old)

I look forward to following your journey. I am always looking for new recipes that are Slimming World friendly and which the whole family will eat.

I tried the Lemon Syllabub recipe from the new dessert book. It said it was two syns but I used Sweetner, so think it may be free!

What a great read I am also a massive foodie my kitchen is my space away from the family, I started sw yesterday and I am already going through my old recipe books switching things round to make them sw friendly so I will be interested in seeing what other recipes there are about :)

my 2 yr olds the same he has the odd convinience foods but prefers my home cooked meals and my corned beef hash is his fave.
i do use stock cubes and tinned tomatoes but i see them more as a cupboard staple for a hectic lifestyle.
i too have a crammed full spice shelf :)

yes ive noticed they use alot of sugar where they could avoid it ive modified the black forest roulade so much its 1 syn a slice (thats better than their 4 syns)

Huevos Mexican stylee (mexican eggs)

SAM_1016.jpg
ok so this morning i made Mexican eggs im on a bit of a spice kick at the mo (i go through phases) it was pasta the other week

so its just a handful of herby bagged salad some cherry tomatoes quartered topped with two fried (in frylite) eggs with lashings of my home made super free salsa and pea guacamole (dont worry no avocado in it so no syns)

SALSA:
1 tin tomatoes, 1 medium onion rough chopped, handfull of fresh corriander, 1 chilli de seeded rough chopped, juice of a lime, tsp of salt, heaped tsp cumin and a splodge of tomato puree AND BLITZ in a blender i have one of those mini ones that goes on my hand blender (takes up less room easier to clean and just big enough) well worth buying

FAKE GUACAMOLE:
(made with frozen peas): a good few handfuls of frozen peas, a handful of coriander, chilli flakes to taste, a good few dollops of fat free fromage frais and a little salt to taste AND BLITZ in a blender
ok so it doesnt taste like guacamole but it tastes nice i like it and it looks like guacamole and tricks my eyes :)

it was sooooo damn tasty and not a syn in sight
ive got to say i would never have dreamed of salad and salsa at brekkie until slimming world (YOU GOTTA THINK OUT OF THE BOX):):)

i apologise in advance some of my quantities in my recipes are guessed to the best of my ability as i just tend to wing it feel free to adjust spices and seasonings to your liking

low syn SMOKED MACKEREL PATE 2 SYNS FOR LOADS

SAM_1022.jpgSAM_1023.jpg
ok so here it is the easiest tastiest recipe EVER

1 pack of ASDA's plain smoked mackerel fillets (ABOUT 248 g is 1 syn)(IT MUST BE ASDAS AS OTHER BRANDS ARE HIGHER IN SYN DONT KNOW WHY)
1 tbsp hot horseradish (1 syn)
2-3 tbsp fat free fromage frais
juice of 1 lemon
2-3 spring onions
cracked black pepper (pepper mill)

skin the mackerel and add to the blender bowl with horseradish, lemon juice, yog, and black pepper to taste and whizz up to a pate consistency taste then add in the chopped spring onion and give a final blitz

there its done ..... go on eat it you know you want to .... it will serve 4-6 as a starter with crackerbreads or toast or just one very greedy me ..... but at 2 syns for the whole lot who cares..... just think of all the omega 3 im getting

ENJOY
