Does anyone have the recipe for syn free tomato sauce please.

1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 x 400g tins of chopped tomatoes
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp celery salt
2 tsp english mustard power
2 tsp white pepper
4 tbsp artificial sweetener
225ml red wine vinegar
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce

Place all ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil
Reduce heat and simmer sauce gently for 40-45mins, stiring occasionly
Remove from heat, season with salt and allow to cool.
Blend mix in food processor, then sieve into a jug.
Pour into sterilised, sealable containers
Sauce keeps for upto 3 weeks in fridge (if it lasts that long)

I tend to place it in three hot sterilised jar and seal so that as they cool they become vacuumed!
(i.e. the middle bit goes in and only pops up when jar is opened in the fridge they would keep for months!)
I then have one plastic upsidedown old ketchup bottle sterilised and place the content of one jar in and after it is all gone I wash it again before placing in a new batch this makes it safer as you have to remember it has no preservatives ( or colouring if you have hyperactive kids it's recommended !)
But really it does make a difference with burger and chips SW recipes of cause
Have fun

For a quick Tom sauce I use tomato purée, cider vinegar, sweetener, onion salt and lemon juice. Mix it all up and it's lovely. I am the tomato sauce queen. I literally eat it with everything. Chinese, pot noodles, spag Bol, Tuna pasta!! Haha I'm terrible, but this really does the job. Ill definately try the other recipe too!! :)

Ooh I will try this too, did the other recipe but not sure if I like it, I need to tweak it as it didn't taste tomatoey enough for me.

Yeah this one is quite tart. Really tomatoey so the sweetener and onion salt are a must! I've tried cooking up a tomato sauce similar before and felt it was more like passata. I like the vinagaryness of this wee quick cold one. And u can make it up as and when u need it. :) let me know how u get on! X
