    Red face Any recommendations please??

    Hi everyone,

Today is my first day of Slimming world and I'm trying to think of some meal ideas.

I'm thinking of making slimming world chips with beans so that will be free but don't know many meat options that are low in syns.

Ideally I would like something along the lines of chicken dippers, southern fried chicken etc which I know will be very high so didn't know if anyone had any low alternatives??

    Thanks in advance!!!

Just rub a chicken breast in your choice of spice. Piri piri is good and tastes like nandos. Grill it et voila.

There is a lot of emphasis on fresh meats rather than processed on SW.

Try a search as I know there is a recipe somewhere for KFC style chicken but I've never made it myself.

    Ps

remember your 1/3 superfree. Baked beans don't count and neither does potato so maybe add some veggies in there.

Thank you very much! I'm currently only doing green days whilst I get started as I know I will struggle getting my super frees in every day..

I will look for the recipes as I'd really love to find a healthy alternative!!

I understand that the 1/3 superfree is for all three plans now though? I thought that was the line that was being taken. Whatever works for you really

there are loads of recipes in here so have a good dig around. Good luck

No. The 3rd superfree is suggested guidance only on EE
That said if we do eat more superfree we will hav better losses cause we are filling up on healthy low cal items
Had a SW round the world trip and gained ??? (Not sure as dont want to get weighed but gone up a clothing size so must be bad)
But as of 31st Dec im on it!
Going to get weighed once a month & take my measurements and see how they change rather than the scales.

Done this before, so i can do it again (i just need to remember what self control is!
    )

I've just checked their website. It's recommended on all plans If you log in and look at "our other plans" it says to include it wherever possible. That's the same guidance as EE.

If you don't follow it and it works for you then I don't see that it matters. It's the recognised nutritional benefits and adjusting attitudes to food that means it's included across the board.

If you google Slimming World KFC, you'll find some fab recipes and they have been in the SW mag before. Essentially, you make a mix with tomato puree to coat your chicken breast strips, then dip them in wholemeal breadcrumbs (your HEXB allowance) mixed with some spices. Bake in the oven and they are delish! A perfect on-plan treat

If you're really after quick easy things to pop in the oven for convenience rather than cooking from scratch (we all have days where cooking is too much of a chore! ) you could try some Quorn products if you like that? I love their chicken style things and the following go really well with chips, jacket potatoes etc.:

Quorn burgers (breaded or southern fried style) - 2.5 syns each
Quorn dippers (like chicken dippers) - 0.5 syns each
Quorn chicken style nuggets - 0.5 syns each
Quorn southern fried style strips - 1.5 syns each
Quorn battered chicken style fillet - 3 syns each

Much lower in syns than the chicken vartieties and they're the same number of syns on all plans so you don't have to worry about eating meat on a green day.
    Starting again 10/12/13!

Those southern style quorn burgers are pretty good!

See I'm a bit undecided with Quorn products, I have been eating spaghetti bolognes, lasagne etc with quorn mince for as long as I can remember however after trying the sausages a while ago I decided to stick to only the mince as I found them very cardboard like.. that said the nuggets would be ideal at only 0.5 syns so I definately think I will have to try them!!!

    Diet: SW all the way
If you're on a green day then Quorn is definitely an option to consider. Chicken is not free on green days and the HEB allowance is 57g so it's a tiny amount!
