Help Please - Artificial Sweetener

Pommette

Trying - very!
Do any of you know how sweet liquid artificial sweetener is when compared to the granulated stuff?

Many of the desert recipes on the SW website and on Minis just say "artificial sweetener" - and often in tbsp measure.
So I'm assuming this is referring to the granulated variety.

Neither me nor Mr Pomm take sugar and I rarely make deserts so I only keep liquid sweetener in as a stand-by.
When I made a pud recipe last week it said 4 tbsp sweetener.
I put 2 tsp of the liquid stuff in and it was way too sweet for the 6 of us who ate it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

What sort of liquid sweetener? I use agave nectar and usually reduce it by around a third. So for 4 tbsp sweetener I would use 2.5 tbsp (probably 3 if I'm honest). I think it's trial and error really.

I sort of thought that as well - so in theory 4 tbsp = 4 tsp.
But I only put 2 in as I know I don't have a sweet tooth and that was still way too sweet!
So maybe I'll half again next time (if I do it again)

I use a Spanish supermarket own label liquid sacharine which says
"8 gotas equivalen a una cucharadita de azucar" which means "8 drops equals one teaspoon of sugar"

Ha - but I've just read that 5 ml liquid sacarine = 60 gm sugar!
so thats 1 tsp = 4 tbsp
So I've sort of answered my own question!
Must go to Specsavers and get some new specs!
