Any type of stir-fry is brilliant and super fast too. Serve with noodles or rice. sweet chilli sauce is only 1.5syns per tablespoon and soy sauce is free!!
For something to suit more plain tastes, baby boils, plain fish and lots of veg is great, and most fishes are super-speed too.

There are so many!! I never really use syns on dinner except if I am having a sunday roast (1 tsp of oil for roasties (2 syns but divided between 4 people) and gravy (2 syns).

There's a really good receipe section on here for ideas!

The other night I did make a turkey meatloaf which was free, but used my HEA of cheese. Was yum, will deffo be making it again.

Same, I don't really use syns for dinner at all. I make my own curries, spag bol, a nice big Sunday dinner with syn free roasties, soups, stews, salads...There's so many options you can adapt most meals to suit

If you're a fan of seafood and pasta how about this?

I had chilli and garlic mussels and prawns with spaghetti last night - free on EE!

    Low-syn or syn-free dinner?-image-1186844616.jpg

    Ingredients:
    Frozen mussels
    Frozen prawns
6-8 shallots cut in quarters or 1 onion
    1 red chilli finely diced
    2-3 garlic cloves
390 g carton Italian chopped tomatoes with basil ,chilli and oregano
Fresh basil leaves , I used about 8 leaves and cut them
    Red/ yellow pepper
    Olive oil fry light

    1. fry onions garlic chilli in a wok until soft.
    2. Add cherry tomatoes and peppers, followed by carton of tomatoes (added extra oregano and chilli/garlic)
    3. Cook until sauce thickens .
    4. Meanwhile cook spaghetti in salted boiling water until soft
    5. add defrosted mussels/prawns to tomatoe mixture
    6. Drain spaghetti and add to mixture with fresh basil
    7.Mix all together and voila!

I served this with wilted spinach with garlic and a mixed salad!

    All syn free xx

At this time of year I don't cook - all my meals are salads. This evening's salad is little gem lettuce, red and yellow peppers, mange-tout peas, artichoke hearts, and tuna. There would have been cherry tomatoes in there too, but I ate them all at lunchtime!

Do you not get bored?? I have salad for lunch every day and keep trying to shake it up a bit by trying new things with them, but I couldn't go home and have another one for dinner!

No, I never get bored with salads, because they are different every meal. I usually start with a base of little gem lettuce, because I like them so much. I think tonight I have got peppers and fennel and sugar snap peas and rocket and some asparagus tips and baby new potatoes (OK, I am going to steam those!) , and I am going to have that with some chicken and my HEXA of grated cheddar.

They have some really excellent canned chick peas on special offer in Tesco at the moment, so they will be the basis for tomorrow's salad. And I am mildly addicted to cucumber at the moment, and there is a huge one in the fridge, so that will probably go in too.

I have a lovely tangy mandarin and ginger dressing from Waitrose, also some crunchy croutons, and I use my syns on those. Also, sometimes a few chopped nuts.

Thank you all for your great ideas I usually have salada for dinner, but trying to find new ideas for salad and salad ''dressing''. I tried this the other day and just loved it:
-Any fresh vegetables you like (cucumber, tomato, lettuce, spring onion, corn, baby spinach, etc)
-Turkey ham (1%)- microwave it for a while so it will get a bit crispy
    -Boiled egg
-and as a dressing mix together low fat cottage cheese with some ground pepper and fresh chives.. just loved it!!!
