    Actifry anyone?

Hi, am thinking of buying an Actifry or similar air fryer type machine but wondering if they are worth it. I have an halogen oven which cooks SW chips and other things really well so that is why I am wondering ... so is it worth buying the Actifry?

Your thoughts would be really welcome .. thanks Carole

My hubs worked out the energy consumption for these gadgets and they are high. It's probs better to stick to an oven or your halogen to be honest.

Im not a fan, but there are plenty here who are so you can make an informed decision xxx

I use my halogen oven heaps...i put it in the cupboard but i don't know why i bother it's out every day anyway, lol
Besides chips i wouldn't know what i'd use the actifry for!
If you are happy with your halogen oven (i use it for bacon, sausages, fish, jacket potatoes...anything that you can grill or would use the oven for!)
    I'd stick with it xx

I love my halogen oven and use it every single day - I cannot remember that last time I used my cooker oven to be honest and hardly ever use the top hob anymore either. I was toying with the idea of the actifry because I hear good things about the chips .. but is that enough reason to buy such an expensive gadget??

Thank you for the feedback ladies ..... still glad to receive more if anyone has a view

Defo going to dig it out. ..my oven is knackered. ..tried to do some oven chips that should have taken 10 minutes in it earlier. ..30 mins later and they were still soggy!

I personally love my Actifry, but then I didn't pay for it, it was a birthday present lol. The first thing I made in it was chips, the second was roasted veg, and both turned out really well. I've not been adventurous and tried anything else yet, but I plan to.

I love my actifry! Apart from delicious Sw chips... Especially sweet potato ones.... I use mine to cook chicken, sausages, roast veg, quorn nuggets... The list goes on! I even cooked a full spag bol in it one night... I'll be honest that was a little messy!!!

Mine was a gift too and I love it!

Hi thanks for all your replies. One thing though, when reading the product description it does recommend not using wet ingredients etc. Seems it handles them no problem though as I saw a recipe for diet coke chicken on you tube yesterday. C x

When you do chicken and sausage do you take the paddle out? I use mine a lot for chips, wedges, fried rice, corned beef hash but that's about it so far.

For chicken breasts, fish cakes etc I take the paddle out but if it is chopped chicken or sausages I don't...
