    I made 'super speed soup' last night, it was all right but nothing special. Had some for dinner tonight and OH MY it was fabulous. Amazing what a night in the fridge can do for a soup!
    Running the madhouse: one husband (the Joker), one 8-year-old (Wee Chum), three cats, seven rats, three degus and a tarantula. Phew!

    Super Speed Soup

    1 can mixed beans
    2 cans chopped tomatoes
    handful split lentils
    1 large onion
    2 parsnips
    2 beef oxo cubes
    mixed herbs
    1 can green lentils
    1 can baked beans
    2 large leeks
    4 medium carrots
    mixed peppers - one red, one yellow, one green
    water

    Chop all vegetables, put it all in a big saucepan, cover with water. Bring to the boil and then simmer until everything's soft.

    I blended mine and I left out the parsnips. It makes enough for several meals!

    Oh Emily it all sounds very stressful but it will be resolved soon, which is a big plus I'm more of a fall headfirst into chocolate girl but I imagine vodka gives similar results! I hope OH treats you lovely on v-day, it sounds like you need some pampering. That or I've pulled you into my hormonal web via the web! Muahaha.

    Mum asked to borrow a fiver earlier, she got back in the car with a bag of chocolate! Thankfully she left it at the other house! Which is good, I predict Nate will wake up tonight, after refusing lunch and dinner, because he is hungry. apparently he was very naughty while I was out, so I'm glad I missed that. Just hoping I won't be wanting sugar all tomorrow!

    Harley we make that soup too, be warned we call it fart soup so you may have a windy house this evening.

    oh I just remembered I forgot to go soak my oats! I shall have to just do it for half an hour tomorrow morning and try not to eat the whole fruit counter while I wait... Or I might just have fruit and yogurt for breakfast instead. Shrove tuesday didn't bother me last year so I might just not bother with it this year either.

    Fran your early nights seem to have waned again lady!

    I am still feeling horrific :-( think I slept for an hour at most last night, thinking I deffo won't be going to work today...but am worried as I also need to ask for time off this week for my interview! Urgh!!

    I also have a confession to make - my food has been REALLY bad this week...I've eaten everything I've wanted albeit there is very little junk food in this house, I've had chocolate, fondant fancies, a frozen pizza, burger and chips, toast!! I need to get to weigh in tomorrow, assess the damage and get a grip! I'm going to set myself the challenge of losing 1/2 stone by Easter weekend (6 WI not including tomorrow's inevitable gain!)

    I need to start exercising some serious willpower, I just seem to have totally lost the plot!! Sort me out girls!! X
