Hello Guys,
This thread is for all them dedicated slimming world members who have been going it alone with out the support groups to go to.
My reason being for doing it alone is that I can't afford the money for the classes and I have the books and a great forum to help me so with a bit of dedication i'm good to do it alone. And it really works for me.

So feel free to support each other for all them out alone :)

Hey!

I've been to a meeting to get the books but I'm doing it alone!

Mainly because the meetings are nowhere near me! But I generally don't like them sort of meetings! They work for some people but I'm quite motivated to do it alone!

How is it for you so far?
I'm finding it fine, but i have so many questions! The boards are quite good though to find answers

Hi :) I'm also doing SW from home. I went to group the last time I joined sw and as much as it was quite supportive, I don't think it was worth the five pound I paid each week. I would rather spend the money I'm saving by not going on healthy food shopping (which is getting pretty expensive - spesh healthy stuff!) I also find I get enough support from minimins by keeping a food diary and following other members diaries. I just weigh myself at Boots each week which is only 50p (a lot cheaper than getting weighed at group). I do buy the magazines and have a few books already but I think its easy enough to follow it at home without going to a group :) xxx

Im also trying alone at home as I cannot find time to go to meetings with 3 children and shifts. Im hoping to get motivation here x

Yes I have all the books, I agree the money! 5 pound a week!? The healthy shopping is so expensive right? That 5ver helps a lot to be honest when you add it all up haha.

Yeah i've done the boots weighing there really good arn't they, i've been doing it at home lately but might go on to the boots scales as they tell you your fat percentage ect.

I don't think you really need to support group if your dedicated to a forum as good as this one! Yes the insperational pictures, and diaries are so good and motivational and there are so many slimming world - wise people on here it's great.

Yeah i guess the timing for the groups can be difficult and that why i think doing it alone is so good if you can stick to it!

I'm finding it really easy actually as i like to have control just finding the " 8 glasses of water a day " hard as hell!? am I the only one? I hate water and drinking that much is like ergh!

That sounds like a good idea Jade :)
I just find it so hard to even remember to drink normal (quash coke the usual) when im not on a diet let alone drinking water on the diet!
But its be proven to boast weight loss so i must do it aaha.
How long have you been on slimming world now Jade? x

Drinking so much water is hard. I have a desk job, I make sure I have 2 glasses in morning and 2 in afternoon! So I get 4 glasses a day! I have a bottle at gym!

It's crazy how eating healthy is so much more expensive than eating crap!

Yes totally agree Purpled!
They go on at us for being over weight and catching up with america and telling us to buy these healthy foods. And then the prices of the bloody healthy food is terrible! you'd save more money buying a week of crap then a week of good stuff.

But it's all worth it I guess! haha.
I try have a glass of water in the morning with my breakfast and then one before my run and one after my run and hopefully one at night but i usually forget half of these! there should be a " WATER CHALLENGE " thread haha!

There should lol! Drinking so much water does make me get out my seat more and burn some Cals...... Walking to the loo

I love summer tho, grow veg in my garden! So lots of free fresh veg :)

Ooo that sounds good.
My dad does his own veg and its so good! my rabbit loves it too haha ;)

Yes will deffo do the water challenge in my head anyways hahaa

I'm the same Purpled which is really annoying at night when I'm trying to go to sleep and just as I'm about to nod off I need the loo again!

I started this time round towards the end of January so its been about 9 weeks now, it doesn't actually feel like it's been that long! What about you? x

Last year i lasted 1 month on it, but trying it again this time round so far this is my 3rd week but im really enjoying it hoping to be on it untill atleast july :) x

I'm trying to loose 40lbs by may 28th for my holiday!

Since January I lost over 25lbs which is great! Not quite sure I'll get to 40 by the end of may but I think I'll come close.

So what do you guys eat as a low syn food? Sometimes I have like 3 or less syns to use and I never know what to have! As I exercise lots I try to make sure I have my full 15syns

I'm sure you can do it if you set your mind to it :) As for syns, sometimes I half my curly wurly to make it 3 syns if I've had a few syns already and fancy chocolate. Crisps are lower syns than chocolate though, crisps like french fries, skips, velvet crunch are about 4 syns ish a pack. Alpen lights are about 3 syns, i love these but usually use them as my heB as you get two. Options hot chocolate are about 2 syns and they taste like heaven! spesh the belgian chocolate one x

Cheers Hun!
I might buy some Alpen lights!

My HEXA and HEXB seem to be the same everyday
Milk and some sort of cereal!

Although I don't have milk in my drinks, I have black coffee and tea! So it's a waste really! I might syn the milk (about 150ml semi) then use some cheese as a HEXA

That's one thing I'm glad i really don't like "Tea and Coffee" Can't stand the taste and I don't have to worry about it on diets :) I do like my hot chocolate but I hate wasting syns on drinks it annoys me to much to use them up lol!

Good luck also with the 40lb loss purpled :)!

I haven't really had any crisps yet, did buy some french fries but haven't had a pack yet not much of a crisp fan anyway Im chocolate all the way haha.

I need to get some alpen light bars, two on HE is just great! and i love cereal bars it will be good to not have to use syns on them.

And thanks Jade, yes not to long hope I can do it before July, Its mad how much slimmer i feel already tho! Must of lost a few inches, wish i would of measured my waist really!

You can split your healthy extra's so you could have 150ml of skimmed milk and 15 grams of cheese for your heA. When I went to group, the consultant said you couldn't do this but a lot of members on here do it and their consultants say its fine :)

See, I love tea and coffee (more so my coffee on a morning) and I have mine with milk so I like to use my he for milk most of the time as I like milk for my cereal too. I also love crips and chocolate, not good! So usually my syns go on a packet of crisps or a curly wurly!

I love alpen lights, its like having a treat really. You get get them at the 99p stores if you have one near you or B&M bargains do them pretty cheap too as they are pretty pricey in the supermarket.

Take your measurements now minnie, its nice to monitor the losses that way too, spesh if its not showing on the schales. I took mine when I did the 30 day shred challenge and lost a good few inches all over doing that and SW.

xxx

Cheers Hun!

I have switched from ww! I have already noticed I am eating a lot less on SW as my syns just disappear so quick! On ww I ate my 31pp a day and all 49weeklies as I do so much exercise! If I ate less I wouldn't lose!
So I pointed my last 3 days as I was curious and I ate 28, 27 and 29 pp! So I need to up my food intake!

So I basically need syn free snacks! I'm shopping tomorrow, we'll see what I come back with!
Not had a good shop since I started, so it will Deffinatly help
