I agree Ems!
This shrinkage lark is way more than losing weight - it's about changing our mindset (well it is for me at least lol) towards food once and for all. This HAS to be a lifestyle change for it to work properly and for us to actually keep the weight off long term once we're where we want to be. Pushing the plan to see what we can 'cheat' on and get away with, isn't really doing that, it's just leaving the door wide open for the old habits to come back in.........which is what got us here in the first flipping place and why we will keep on coming back and coming back! lol
I am speaking for myself here btw, I'm not lecturing anyone or criticising anyone, I'm just saying how it has to be for meI need to completely alter my mindset if I am to crack it this time..................and I am, and I will
I'm determind......soooooooooo determined! lol
This group helps me stay focused and on track......you guys are supportive, encouraging and give praise. Thank you xx We can do this girls, we really really can![]()
Mini rant warning....
When joining a challenge where you set your own target over a long period of time do people set a really low target, now I know some people loose very slowly or are near target and it's harder etc but it REALLY bugs me when people join a long term challenge where they have determined the target and reach it within a few weeks. The clue is in the name...CHALLENGE!!! I also set myself a target which I'd have to work bloody hard to get, as I thought that was the point? Sorry, I needed to vent. I feel better now.
This is definitely a challenge for me!!!
Pleased to have lost a pound this week but maaaaadddd syn day yesterday and hangover this morning too!!! Great day/night but will not be repeating or a while - thank goodness I weighed in yesterday
Also big mistake to miss a day on minimins - taken me ages to catch up......Corky can you send that clever collie down to me - need herding out of kitchen pmsl!!!
Well done team - everyone is doing sooooo well ....... Keep up the fab work. Xxxxxxx
LOL!! Glad you feel better for that
I agree Ellen. There's lots of things that bug me the same way - I just keep reminding myself that we're all different and at the end of the day, we're bound to encounter a few errr, lets say, 'different' people on this here tinternet thingyI could make a flipping list of the things that annoy me! lol Infact lets make it a challenge! See who can make the longest list!
Sleep deprivation is soooooooooo awfulI remember it like it was yesterday........my zombie days only lasted 3 week too, but it was total crap! lol
Think you covered that perfectly! You were speaking for me too lol as I'm exactly the same! And I'm sure others are in the same position! And we CAN really do thisOriginally Posted by Corkscrew

I agree! By Christmas I would like to lose 5lbs lol I think it's set low so they can achieve it without actually having to try and then feel rewarded for it - I personally think this challenge is perfectly achievable but only if you work for it! You can't cheat and cheat and still manage to get there you do have to try - and so we shallOriginally Posted by ellen83

Morning!
Way too many posts to reply to! Bunch of chatterboxes
So... this weekend has been a bit of a challenge for me and it's set me back a bit. Probably the combo of last weeks Monday night out and only losing 1/2lb on Friday has messed my head up a bit. Since Jan I've had a routine of keeping the syns really low during the week but enjoying more syns one night at the weekend on alcohol, meals out etc. It's been working well for me and even on the nights 'off plan', I've had some measure of control. Friday night I went out with the girls and we just overdid it. The food was ok, just had pork steak, sweet potato mash and salad but the wine then the 2 for 1 cocktails got the better of me. That probably would have been ok but it was yesterday where I lost it. I felt rough and couldn't be bothered. Ended up having a bacon sandwich, Pizza Hut lunch and a chocolate biscuit before I finally slapped myself back on track. And tbh I didn't enjoy any of it, actually that's a lie, I did enjoy the cocktails!I suppose the positive is that I didn't feel right having pizza, I got heartburn and my tummy felt funny all day. That must be a sign that I'm doing something right.
I'm over it now and back to normal today but it's worried me that the old behaviour is still there lurking in the background. It's funny as the friends I went out with are all 'normal' weight and we all had exactly the same, in fact they all dived into the starters we shared whereas I held back a bit. They were all hungover too and ate junk yesterday, but I doubt any of them felt as guilty as I do!
Sorry for the whinging post, I know you lot will understand where I'm coming from whereas my un-cyber friends would think I was mad if I said this out loud!
Anyways.. hope you're having a good Sunday even if the weather is bloody miserable. Love all the doggy shots btw. However, it's days like this I wish I didn't have a dog, she's sulking...

I find I get drunk quicker on this plan too funnily enoughlol
Morning cocktail queenVery lovely doggie you have there btw
One of mine is still wet from this mornings walk
so it's me that's sulking in this house! lol
Sarah, sounds like you had a bloody good time with the girls........and Mr P Hutlol Ditch the guilt though missis, you've only done what normal folk do...............and like them, you don't do it every day! They may not be wanting to lose weight, but are they putting any on? I bet they aren't, because they don't carry on like that all the time - they revert back to their normal eating/drinking habits which counteracts their 'good time' with a maintained weight until they do it again! lol That's all you've done when you think about it, just with some misplaced feelings of guilt

It's not a race to lose weight Sarah, it's a journey with an undetermined etaSo what if you lose less this week? There will be plenty more weeks for you to kick some ass. None of us can be hermits and turn down social events just because we 'might' eat/drink too much. That would just make us miserable........t'wud drive me to the biscuit tin actually! lol Life is for living - grab the good times when they crop up and just get right back to your normal eating/drinking routine afterwards
Hey, and what's the point in shrinking and not going out to flipping flaunt it?!
Well done on getting back on the groove trainxx
Happy Sunday ladies.
It really is a miserable one here but i think it is everywhere. So much to catch up and comment on so I'm not gunna even try just gunna say welcome to the newbies, don't let bad evenings deter you jump straight back on the wagon and let's get this Xmas challenge![]()
