Green Team!

Looking for others doing just Green! I'm finding very little info on Lifeline to help me really get started, so figure we can bounce support off each other.

I'm not vegetarian, have just chosen to follow Green solely for financial reasons (meat = expensive!). May drop the odd EE day in once in a while, but really want to get stuck into something new, see if it affects my losses. Hoping to get both veggie and non-veggie Greeners here!

Any takers for this team?

Hello there! I'm new to the forum...joined few mins ago. I'd love to join you if you'll have me. I'm a vegetarian with about 4st to loose.

hi there. I only joined this afternoon. I'll tell you a bit about myself, I'm 47, my real name is Denise but my nickname has been Raven for about 13 yrs. I have 2 children, a son age 23 and daughter age 20. They live with their dad who I seperated from last Feb. The past yr has been totally hell for me with the break up, health issues, house move etc. Totally hoping that 2013 can be a good yr in every way for me and us girls on here. I now live with a new partner who has been a very good friend for many years, we're happy but money is tight to the point of being non existent! lol.

Trijian, just noticed we are the same height with the same goal weight :)

Hi Okenno, Raven and MissyLisa!

Quick question, is there any merit in only having one HexA a day? I know it says you can use 1 or 2, just wondered if anyone had any prominent gains or losses depending on what they've gone for

I always have 2. Calcium speeds up weight loss. I always have 2A and 2 B and lost about 3lbs per week xxx

You can always have quorn. I'm a veggie so I'm used to it. You can use quorn mince in spag Bol, chillie, lasagne you can't even really tell the diffrence plus it's free. Quorn sausages are 1 syn. Burgers 0.5syn. It's really cheap aswell at heron or fultons foods. Also on offer 2 for £3 at asda too :) xx

That's what I've got this week, mince and pieces, will see how it goes. Just trying to get used to the differences between green and extra easy really, there's so much support for EE but not a lot for green. Least with the new packs, green and original have their own booklet now.

I know there is. When I went back to group at our welcome meeting only ee wax explained. I mentioned that I would only be doing green . She is lovely though :) with green you don't have to do the 1/3 plate thing. Some of my meals are all free, some are all super free. I think the biggest difference is you can have 2 A and 2 B which I love :) xx

I didn't realise you don't have to do the 2/3 & 1/3 thing with green, that's pretty cool. I just assumed it was still the case as that's how it's laid out on the food diaries. But having the extra HEx's is definitely making it easier for me. Being able to have cereal in the morning knowing I haven't used my allowance makes all the difference to me.

Nope that's the best thing about it, just bang it all on your plate. I know, I was going to try EE but I didn't see the point as I don't eat meat and I wasn't keen on the 1hexs, when I can have 2 of each. Babybells are my saviours 3 light or 2 origional for hexA. I cut them up into everything ha.
Xx

Ooh I'd like to join here too please :) I've been back on SW for 5 weeks now - I was crazy enough to start 2 weeks before Christmas! But although I gained 2lbs over new year, I'm still sitting 7lb lighter than when I started. I almost always do green days so this thread will be really useful. I did find it tough getting back into the mindset at first, and having to cook things from scratch a lot more. But I feel much healthier, and I'm not missing meat at all thanks to quorn and Linda McCartney! If I really want meat I have the occasional EE day.

I rarely have two hex-a's so I'll have to start addressing that! I take it you use it for cheese?

Hi Could I join in please? Went to SW a couple of years back and lost 2 stone but have now put it back on again. I'm going to join up again tomorrow so would like some support as I'm dreading the weigh in. I will be doing the green as I'm a veggie. Hubby is also going to do it with me although he won't be going to meetings. I think the hardest thing I found was finding something to eat at lunchtime, I usually cook with Quorn for dinner and I still have my SW recipe books so Im ok for dinners.

Hi Shary :) I struggle with lunches too - especially when I'm working away from my usual office. At least I have a canteen there where I can buy a baked potato if all else fails! I often make extra pasta or whatever the night before and take the leftovers to work for lunch. Do you have a microwave at work? I hope it will be easier in the summer as I'll take a salad most days! :)

Lunches were always my biggest issue, usually just stuck to pasta/couscous and salad, with babybels and mullerlight. Got boring after a while though. Right now I'm not working, so it's a bit easier for me, but I know once I'm back at work I'll have the same issues.

Looks like I'm having an EE day today though, ended up in Subway for lunch and had turkey and ham salad. At least I did it before I had my HExs today, so know I can just have one of each now. Have an awesome veggie cottage pie to look forward to for dinner though.

Well done on your loss :) you can use it for cheese and milk. Babybells are brilliant as I just chomp on them if I'm hungry or just have a glass of milk :) xxx
