Thread: PCOS?

Any slimming worlders with PCOS? I was diagnosed about 2 years ago, really struggling with my tablets at the moment as they make me feel really sick. Would be great to hear from anyone who has PCOS too!

Hey! I was diagnosed with PCOS 4 years ago when I was 17, I've always found it a struggle to lose weight, I joined SW 11 weeks ago and I've currently lost 23lbs, What tablets are you on? I have received no help at all with mine xx

I am on metformin, I am supposed to take 4 500mg tablets a day but they make me feel so sick and my doctor is completely useless, in fact I was on the wrong pills for a long time and this only came to light via a chance meeting with a fill in doctor.

My mum has it too and when on her tablets (slightly lower dose than mine) she looses far more weight than when not on them so I wanted to get on track with them but just can't tolerate the sickness.

Oh, I've never heard of those, but if they make you feel sick I don't think I want to try them!! Oh wow that's lucky then! I'm getting sick of having different diagnosis from different drs!! I've had one today too! I'm on no tablets at all, I just don't know what to do, hopefully losing weight will relieve any symptoms xx

I tried the metformin too just made me sick no help with the weight loss my current dr who is fabulous says current information shows that any weight loss is just due to the sickness and not the tablets

Mine put me on a strong contraceptive pill to "rest my ovaries" until I want to use them ie try for kids, he said in some cases this can actually cure pcos? :S

I think it's marvelon (30/150mg) I think the 150 is the important bit, think there are a few pills that will do it

Ahhhh yes I've been on that one, years ago,

i was on dianette and found it helped loads with the weight loss infact since i have stopped taking it my weights gone crazy
