Can I do a week without using any syns?

Coming back to the slimming world plan as a boost. I've been using myfitnesspal and going to the gym 6 days a week since January and the weight is steadily shifting. However I've plateaued and not really lost for over a month now, plus calorie counting limits certain foods for me... Such as pasta... Which i love!

Soooooo I have dig out the old slimming world books and though I'd do the extra easy plan for a week or two and try to kick start myself back into losing. But I don't have membership and I live in Saudi Arabia so the book of branded stuff I have is no longer useful!! So I was thinking if going syn free to save trying to work syns out!!

Is this ok? Is there a calculation to work syns out?
 
If you've no easy way to work them out I've seen people say 20 calories is roughly 1 syns, so try that. I think it would be really tough to do without them completely, I wouldn't last a week...

I have had a week without syns and no problems at all
 
For all items with no free food like crisps/ chocolate etc work out 20cals for 1 syn.

If I am stuck for syns I type it into google and often get redirected to a thread on this site which tells you what it is too :)

Syns are there to be used and slimming world works with your syns incorporated into your diet. You could use your syns on tomato ketchup/mayo or foods that have a syn value. Like others have said I think you would feel like you were being deprived and you couldn't enjoy yourself by not having that bar of chocolate or glass of wine.

Google is so good, type it what you're wanting to eat and then it will tell you the syn values :)

I agree, I'm not nor have ever been a consultant but if you aren't using between 5-15 syns then you aren't following the plan.. The same with healthy extra's. In the past I have tried to lose and it's been impossible simply because my body wasn't getting enough nutrition so going into starvation mode.
