From Tooty Frooty to Hottie Tottie!

Well, after my post the other day about should I stop going to my sw class, I've decided to start a diary on here to see if it will help keep me focused and help me towards becoming the person I want to be.

A little bit about my history...I have had to watch my weight for what feels like forever and have done various diets, good and bad for at least half of my life. I've done sw before with great success and managed to lose 3.5stone but i've got married and had two young boys since then and this time i'm really finding it a struggle.

My youngest will be one at the end of next month and my eldest will be 3 next month. :family2: I re-joined sw this time when my youngest was just 3 wks old, and started off really well, and had lost 16.5lbs by the time christmas had came, but then I gained half a stone over that time and since then have been terrible and have managed to put most of the weight I lost back on. :break_diet:

I didn't go to my class this week as I knew I'd be in for another gain, and I couldn't take the embarrassment but I'm hoping by planning well, and writing on here regularly that I'll go back to my class next week and will actually have lost something!

I've got about 6 stones to lose this time and I think that's part of my problem, as it just seems like such a mammoth, unachievable task, but I have been reading some stories on here and I KNOW it can be done, so I just need to not look at the big picture and break it down to half stone blocks.

As for the food, I normally follow green days, but occasionally do the odd red or EE day, depending on how i'm feeling. My plan is to post my meal plan on my diary every day and then add to it or change it as the day goes on.

I don't know if anyone's even going to read this, and that's okay if no-one does. It's just something I have to do for myself, but a little support along the way would be greatly appreciated :p

So, today's plan for food

5.40am (when my 11month old decided to get up for the day today) Peach Activia Yogurt (1/2 syn)

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs and a banana

Snack: 2 choc n fudge alpen light bars (HEXB)

Lunch: Super Speed soup, fruit

Dinner: Quorn chilli with basmati rice

I will probably have my new favourite dessert thing for after, but will have it a bit later...this is a tub of quark mixed in with a cherry activia yogurt and a white choc options (2syns), 2 alpen lights, broken up and done in micro for 30 secs, then mixed into quark mixture. Yummy.

So, that's it for just now...oh, except to add my starting weight from this morning (I weighed myself on my own scales, but the sw ones normally have me as a pound or two heavier!)

14st 13lbs

Wish me luck!

Hey well done for starting a diary. I am sure others will follow and help you too. I most certainly will. Just remember its the last time you will see 14 st 13lb :D okay? I started at 17st 8lb  We can do this.

Keep posting on your diary, be honest etc, post your food, and we can all help and motivate you. I will also try to think back to how I got mine to sleep in later than 5am. its been along time :8855: Don't be too hard on yourself as you start back to work soon. Little steps and remember we are all here to help.

Loads of love

Thank you Jackie, I really do not want to see that figure on the scales again, and am feeling so much better about this after posting on here and getting such great support from you and all the other lovely ladies on here. It really did help me, so thank you :thankyou:

Yes, my little boy gave me a long lie this morning  although he was up screaming his little head off from 12.30-2am so he obviously needed the rest himself! :4635:

I'm feeling hungry already though, so might have to have one of those alpen lights now, then i've got a trip to the doctors with my eldest as he's got conjunctivitis (keeps getting it so need to get it sorted)

Just trying to figure out how to add tickers etc onto here to make me look a bit more interesting!! :rotflmao:

Hope you have a great day yourself :D xx

Hiya sweetie, you've taken the first step.. You can seriously do it. Life has ups and downs. Don't look at this as a diet. Its a long term healthy eating plan. There will be meals out, birthdays, and general blips but this time you will draw a thick black line under it straight away (feel free to pop into my diary and ensure I do the same :8855:) and move on. That way we limit the damage :D It can be done. Read for yourself I regularly have blips but having my diary and my friends on here means I can't just skunt off and go back to my old habits. They won't let me :8855: :8855:

It will get better with little one as he gets older. I know thats not much help now but it will. I used to spray that avon pillow spray in their room on their curtains, only a couple of sprays. I use it for myself as its a lovely smell and I do find it relaxes me. Just remember we've been there and we're here to support you. Its not easy being a Mum at times (((hugs))) Mine are alittle older. 18, 14, and 7, but they come with their own set of tests and problems :8855:

I can't figure out the ticker so you have done very well. I had to give up or I'd have thrown the laptop out the window.

Be good :D xxxxx

Well I'm pleased to say that today has gone to plan so far. This Is the first day I've stuck to it in weeks and I feel so much better for it. Just making my boys dinner then when hubby gets in from work we'll have ours. Although he doesn't like quorn so I'm going to have to rummage in the freezer to see what I can defrost for him as I managed to forget about him earlier! Oops. WIll report back later.

Hiya

Love the title of your diary :)

I also went off plan at Christmas and didn't manage to get back on until June

Having a diary on here really does help. Everytime you eat crap you have to admit to it on here so it makes you think more.

I can't offer advice on getting kids to sleep. Mine are 19 and 16. The eldest didn't sleep through until he started school. He used to sleep for 15 mins and then be awake for 2 hours. Everyone used to tell me it was a sign of intelligence. At the time I thought they were being kind but he has turned out to be very clever. The youngest slept through from being 6 weeks old and even as a toddler would quite happily have stayed in bed until dinner time unless I woke her. So as you can see I have no idea how to make them sleep cos as far as my kids went, it either happened or it didn't.

I'm sorry for waffling

Thanks for posting on my diary Tillymax,

One day I will be a hottie tottie....one day!!! :giggle:

Interesting insight to your children's sleep habits, and if you're right then my littlest one will be a genius winning his first nobel prize by the time he's in his teens!! :winner::happy096::rotflmao:

You've done fab with your weight loss, am going to have a squiz at your diary to see how you've done it. xx

Well i'm off to honk my horn in the 100% thread as for the first day in weeks, with the help of this forum and the support of some lovely people on here I have managed to stick to the plan. WooHoo!!!!!

I didn't have any HEXA choices today which wasn't planned. I just didn't know how to fit them in! I'm off to bed soon in preparation of another early start, or a screamfest during the night (from my baby, not me!!) hehehe.

Over and out xx

Morning!! :)

I've woken up feeling really positive today and am ready for another day of sticking to the plan 100%. I got a reasonably good nights sleep. Went to bed at 10pm and baby didn't get up till 5.45am  Although I woke at 3.45am just waiting for him to wake up (habit I guess!)

Not much planned for today, my dh only works a half day on a friday so we'll probably do something later, which usually means I have something to eat that I shouldn't but I've got my food planned out for the day so should hopefully manage to stay on track.

Already had an activia yogurt and a banana this morning at 6am, I always wake up starving for some reason!

I'm going to have 6 finn crisps (B) with 5 laughing cow light triangles (A) once I've got the baby down for his nap.

Lunch will be egg, beans and sw chips (thanks to Jackie who reminded me how yummy it was!!) :wavey:

Dinner will be a chicken chow mein from the chinese (7.5 syns...I think) (friday is our takeaway night...well chinese night, as we always have that and I always have a chow mein!!) :giggle:

I can't believe that I started writing this at 7 o'clock this morning and i'm only just getting round to posting it. Oh the joys of having a demanding baby, and an even more demanding toddler! :chores016: I've already had to separate them a number of times this morning before they ripped each others hair out!

Off to see if they baby is asleep yet..it's very quiet up there. He's probably climbed out his cot and will be unrolling the toilet roll as I type!!

omg .. does your little one do that too?
we have our own little andrex puppy dog in the form of a baby, funny at first but not when youve got 2 scraps of loo roll left lol

stay positive today, love the idea of sw chips, egg and beans (might pinch it) and guess if you're on EE you could also have some nice slices of ham .. yum!

is chicken chow main really that low? is it for the whole tray? i shall have to investigate - i feel a chinese takeaway coming on this weekend lol

i absolutely love banana fritters, but obviously too high syn to eat whilst im on the plan, but now bake them in their skins (until skin is literally black - my daughter gags at the sight of them lol) carefully unravell skin (mind dont burn fingers) bananas all all lovely and gooey hot and steamy - drizzle on bit maple syrup and bobs your uncle low syn (about 2) banana fritters - well taste very close anyhow

i dont think we're supposed to bake free fruit like that, but what the hell .. rules are meant to be broken and its not as if i have it every day XX

good luck for the rest of the day, where do you work by the way? nosey icon lol XX

I'm glad you're keeping a diary Tooty Frooty - besides keeping you motivated, it will be interesting for you to read back over the weeks and months and find out how your mind set has shifted over time - and of course marvel at how much weight you have lost! Take care, Caroline.

Yip....honestly, I turn my back on him for two seconds and he practically has the whole roll unfurled!!! I've taken to taking it off the holder when i'm not in there just incase he sneaks in when i'm not looking. :D

Well, I couldn't believe it but I went up to check on him and he was fast asleep!!! I think that's the first time he's ever went straight to sleep for his nap. Normally I have to run up and down the stairs to settle him about 10 times before he nods off! *think of the body magic eh*! :8855:

I'm pretty sure the chow mein is 7.5syns. I've misplaced my book but that's what I always count it as. It's either 7 or 7.5 syns. Yes, that's for the whole thing. The one I go to is really good and pricey too for that matter, but at least I know i'm not eating half a bottle of oil with my dinner!!

That banana fritter type thing sounds delicious. Do you just do it in the oven? How long for? What temp? Can you tell i'm soooooo going to do it?? :D

I work in a gyn ward for my sins. The thought of going back makes me feel sick. Where do you work?

Hope you have a good day and thanks for checking out my diary :)

Thanks Caroline. I've been touched with the amount of support i've had on here. I'm feeling so much more positive about things now. You have done so so well and I hope one day I'll have done as well as you. xx

Well I had my egg, beans and chips for lunch and it was yummmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! :D Then we went to the park and Mr Frooty hadn't had any lunch yet, and being the bad wife that I am, I didn't have anything in for him (he hates most things that i have on sw...eggs, beans, cheese, mushrooms, tuna, baked potatoes!!!)

So, he ended up getting a burger and chips from a burger van that was there, my eldest wanted an ice-cream so I was glad i'd filled up before we went so I wasn't tempted. Although I had to lick his ice-cream every now and again as it kept dripping everywhere!! Normally I wouldn't have, being the angel I am these days :p but Mr Frooty didn't want to as he was eating his burger. I have no idea how many syns it would've had in it so i'll say 3, as I didn't have that much really. :giggle:

I'm having some super speed soup just now as i'm a bit peckish and we don't have our dinner on a friday till the boys are in bed, so we can eat in peace without little paws clambering all over us!! :eat:

I'm really pleased i've stuck to the plan so far today. I know it's not a great achievement for most people but the way I've been recently, it's a miracle!! :8855:

So, i've had 4 syns so far today....3 for the ice cream and 1 for the brown sauce with my lunch. My consultant always says we're only allowed 10 syns a day but I hear other people on here saying they have 15 a day so i'm a bit confused. Can anyone shed some light for me?

Well done on getting back on the wagon Tooty. Syns wise SW recommend 5 - 10 per day. Some people find they do better on 5 and some on 15. Most people tend to find if they cut down to 5 their weight loss actually slows. Possibly as their eating too few calories. I usually try to have between 10-15 a day, usually closer to 15.

I'm going to re-start my diary tomorrow as since I stopped doing it I don't think I've been as good.

Thanks for popping in to my diary Cherry and thanks for clearing up the syns query I had. I think i'll stick to the 70 for the week. I tend to do it weekly...don't know if you're meant to but my C seems to think that it's okay and it normally works well for me when i'm sticking to it

Doing this diary has definitely helped me over the past two days and it's always nice to know that there are people on here looking out for you and encouraging you all the way. I think you should re-start yours when you feel ready and i'll pop onto it to encourage you along the way :)

i love egg, chips and beans. So simple yet yummy I always feels its not like diet food so I love it. :D I ended up having sw wedges with egg just now. yummy.

So, he ended up getting a burger and chips from a burger van that was there,

just a thought. You should try making some syn free burgers. I made them for my lot a couple of weekends ago and had same myself. I made homemade burgers but made them mini (extra lean mince in a bowl, add red onion diced up tiny (i only use about 1/4 of an onion) 1-2 cloves of garlic crushed, a few squirts of worcester sauce, chopped up parsley, mix well form into balls, then flatten, then cook) I had wholemeal roll HEXB(they had white)put lettuce, tomato cucumber in roll, added 3 mini cooked burgers, 2 rashers bacon cooked, all fat removed, synned ketchup (1 syn) served with sw chips and side salad. OMG it was lush lush lush they loved it

my eldest wanted an ice-cream so I was glad i'd filled up before we went so I wasn't tempted. Although I had to lick his ice-cream every now and again as it kept dripping everywhere!! Normally I wouldn't have, being the angel I am these days :p but Mr Frooty didn't want to as he was eating his burger. well done for resisting burger and icecream. okay you licked little ones icecream but well done

I'm having some super speed soup just now as i'm a bit peckish and we don't have our dinner on a friday till the boys are in bed, so we can eat in peace without little paws clambering all over us!! :eat: again impressed - also Michelles lentil and bacon soup is free on EE and OMG its lush and sooooo filling

I'm really pleased i've stuck to the plan so far today. I know it's not a great achievement for most people but the way I've been recently, it's a miracle!! :8855: "I believe in miracles' hehehehehe well done I know how you feel as whenever I stick to plan I feel its a miracle

So, i've had 4 syns so far today....3 for the ice cream and 1 for the brown sauce with my lunch. My consultant always says we're only allowed 10 syns a day but I hear other people on here saying they have 15 a day so i'm a bit confused. Can anyone shed some light for me?

don't assume 'if I have no syns I'm being a good girl' it so does not work like that you need to have syns for the plan to work basically. So enjoy them, just don't do what I do and ea a weeks worth in a day :8855:

Oh don't worry Jackie, I definitely manage to use my syns for the week. I've had 14 so far over today and yesterday but I normally allow myself some more on a Saturday by having some crisps and choc whilst watching a dvd. I definitely won't starve, that's for sure! :8855:

Hope you're feeling a bit better now? x
