LoChan's diary - hello!

It seems like a good day to start a diary today. I'm four weeks into this round of SW and I'm 13lbs down and feeling pretty happy since it included a week of being off plan on holiday in Wales!

I've always been big and have been on and off WW and SW and a few other plans since I was around 14 years old (now 27). I'm currently doing the plan at home but think it'll help me participating on minimins to give me some sort of accountability.

My main triggers for falling off the wagon seem to be holidays and stressful situations. Sometimes I'll suddenly feel angry and resentful that I have to be on a 'diet' as I become so obsessive it's all I can think about and it all falls apart and I'll eat anything and everything. I'm hoping this time round if I keep a diary it'll help me give a red light to these feelings and give me a chance to find out what sets them off.

I was wavering a bit with my moods last week with weighing myself all the time so I've had the OH put the scales in the cellar for the week where I can't get at them! Hoping this will help me feel more relaxed like in Week 1 and let me get on with the plan with a healthier mindset. Also aiming to get more exercise in this week - didn't do anything much last week and I think this definitely contributed to me feeling down.

So for today: EE

Brunch - bacon, bubble and squeak, baked beans, mushroom, tomatoes

Dinner - roast pork, new potatoes, cabbage, carrots and peas, gravy (1 syns)
Followed by baked strawberry cheesecake (4syns)

I'll probably use my hexs on a milky coffee and cereal with fresh apricots in the evening. Not having many syns today as went over yesterday. Drinking lots of sf lemon squash and peppermint tea.

About to go and have a go on the OH's SlamMan - weird plastic half-a-manikin boxing thingy. Not done any cardio for a while other than walking so hoping it'll have a good result on my loss this week. Should also release some aggression :D

Hi LoChan,

You have started a diary... that Fab!!

I love doing mine, it keeps me so motivated.

I will keep an eye on your diary and keep popping in to say hello! :D

Thanks for the visit Sugar. I find reading your diary quite motivating as you always sound so positive - also it's nice nicking your recipes lol

Only way to describe today is 'busy' really. Didn't get any exercise in but I've been walking about and catching buses all over the place today so I've been more active than usual.

Made a bad mistake of having 8 hours between breakfast and lunch with all the running about and not much water. Felt quite headachey but it's calmed down after catching up with fluids once I got home - and I had a pretty big lunch which helped out too!

Today: EE

Breakfast - Alpen (hexb), strawberry yoghurt, chopped apricot and plum

Lunch - minty lamb steak, sw chips, griddled courgette, mushrooms and red onion.
Baked cheesecake and strawberries (4 syns)

Tea - chilli pork shepherds pie with cheese on top (hex a), broccoli

Might have another piece of the cheesecake later for another 4 syns, only me who'll eat it with the OH being fussy lol

Going to experiment with a green day tomorrow, I don't like fearing they'll stop me losing when I haven't even tried them out this time round yet. I don't even know if I do have the carb problem just hearing other people talking about how it affects them makes it daunting!

Today - Green

B - alpen (hexb), yoghurt, apricot and plum

L - mung bean wraps stuffed with a mixture of refried beans, peppers, onions, passata, garlic, chilli and spices - salad. bit of cheese in the wraps - 3 syns

D - Welsh Rarebit (hexa and hexb), salad
Strawberry yoghurt and banana

Evening - going to have a milky coffee (hexa) and a 2-finger kit-kat (5.5 syns) shortly :D

Seemed like quite a light day for green really, it feels like it anyway. Going to have another tomorrow, got quorn swedish meatballs to try.

I did 40mins of yoga this morning which was nice. Though I could do a lot more of it with more capability three years ago (was around 18st then) - it made me cry a few weeks ago but I know if I keep at it and keep losing I'll get back there again and beyond :)

hey lou just found your diary :D

looking forward to reading it and stealing meal ideas:D

you always give me sound advice on mine thank you xxxx

Heya Mandy, nice to see you here *waves* lol

I do my best to be helpful, I worry I sound like a know-it-all and a hypocrite though since I obviously don't always follow my own advice given how much I need to lose atm!

(not that it matters too much but I'm a Lo by the way - it's short for Lorna :))

I had nightmares just before waking today - on the plus side it helped me wake up really quickly heh.

Allsorts going on in them but the main nasty bits:

1) I was smoking - I quit over 5 years ago now but still have smoking dreams that leave me feeling guilty as if I really have smoked. Weird!

2) Being robbed - it's an obsessive worry of mine, think I've always had it since leaving my parent's home because I've a fear of losing things but it's been much worse since there was an attempted buglary at my old house (again around 5 years ago strangely). Left me paranoid about checking locks and strange noises. The dream was at my old house at least, I've got better since moving in with my OH last December but I still always check locks and occasionally have insomnia if a weird noise sets me off etc.

Mn yes it's a ramble but I guess that's what diaries are for - the dream upset me so thought I'd pour my woes into this piece of cyberspace

Got to go post office before breakfast/work so hoping the walk in the sunshine will clear my head a bit. Going to be experimenting with a SW belgian waffle for breakfast so it'll help work up an appetite hopefully :)

Been a good day today food and exercise wise - 20 mins of boxing with the SlamMan and the warm up, arms section and cooldown of Davina's power of three dvd.

Have just started my first * week since early May - have had really irratic ones forever with high weight and the Implanon but they occassionally become more predicatable when I'm eating well. It's weird to be almost relieved about getting one, given it feels like my stomach is behaving like a magimix!

Today - Green

B - 'Belgian waffles' (made using BritMumInCanada's pancake batter recipe watered down American Style Breakfast | Slimming Eats - Slimming World Recipes), with banana and some sugar free syrup (american off t'ebay) - 1 hexb and 1.5 syns

L - 'Pizza' made with a mung bean wrap base, home-made tomato sauce, peppers, red onions, cheese. WW yoghurt - 1 hexa and 0.5 syns

Afternoon - Milky coffee (1 hexa) and 2 ginger biscuits (6 syns).
Peppadew peppers (2 syns) with cottage cheese

D - Quorn swedish meatballs (as far as I know they're synfree), spaghetti, roasted tomato and garlic sauce (another BritMumInCanada's recipes - she's brilliant) - 0.5 syns. Nectarine.

Got a hexb left, dunno if I need it though. Might have a fibre plus later if feel the need :)

I tooks pics of my waffles and the pizza but my silly laptop won't read the sd card from my phone, will try and put them on tomorrow. The waffles were a messy affair - my waffle iron spewed out half the mixture in a rather rude fashion. They tasted much like normal ones but were a lot lighter in texture. Nice for now and again, the pancakes are easier though :D

Food pictures - waffles/pizza from yesterday. Nom Nom!

Not done any picture-taking today though, feeling a bit rough with the * stuff despite some yoga so just plonking things down onto the plate in a haphazard fashion, will update my food diary later.

I ordered some bach flower remedies today to try out, the basic rescue remedy one for panicky/worried moments and a little kit of three supposedly to help with 'emotional eating' - thought it would be worth a go as it wasn't insanely priced. We shall see!

WoW... your Waffles and Pizza looks soooo Yummy!!!

I will be trying the recipes! :D

Feel so tired and achey today - think a fair bit of it is from doing the boxing and weights yesterday, the weights were too heavy for starting out with :(

Red day today (just incase green means gain lol)

B - Bacon sandwich (hexb) with 1 laughing cow deli cheese square (1 syn). Bowl of chopped plum, greek yoghurt (1 syn) and 1 tsp honey (1 syn)

Lunch -Lemon Chilli Chicken, swede chips, steamed broccoli and peppers

Afternoon - milky coffee (hexa) and fibre plus bar (hexb)

Dinner - Lemon Chilli Chicken (couldn't be bothered cooking again!) cold with salad stuff. Eton Mess (thanks SP :)) for pudding - 4 syns.

Evening - milky coffee again (hexa) and 1 alpen light bar (3 syns).

Think the milky coffee is definitely a comfort thing, bit of a daily habit now but don't think it's a bad one

Going to have a go at some of the weekly challenges from a thread that was on the main board - http://www.minimins.com/slimming-wo...0-mini-week-challenges-boost-weight-loss.html

Not sure what order to do them and won't be doing the no alcohol one (rarely drink), and I might replace the sucess express week with an EE week - it'll be an interesting experiment to see if there's any big differences in losses for the whole green/red/ee weeks.

Random off-topic postage - I waaaant this coat!

joe-browns-aviator-jacket-g00016rhm8.jpg
- Joe Browns aviator jacket.

It's £95 on simply be, bit steep for something which will (hopefully) only fit me for a few months lol

I've already got this one:

also by Joe Browns too but it's still a bit too small.

Hmm a non-food related conundrum lol

EE day today

B - plums, nectarine, greek yoghurt and honey (2 syns)

L - Chicken lasagne with roasted tomato and garlic sauce & cheese (6.5 syns), big salad. I took a picture but can't get it onto my laptop  Will try tomorrow.

T - The speed soup :sigh: with crackerbread (hexb) and marmite. WW yoghurt

Evening - milky coffee (hexa) and 3 mini gingerbread men. I enjoyed drowning them head first in the coffee muwahaha.

Didn't like the speed soup much, think it was partly the texture and it needs more seasoning. Aiming to do the speed soup challenge for next week though (or at least until this batch is done with) so will have to try and perk it up and whizz it smooth.

Achey underarms from the slammanning today, I've got the week off work now so along with the souping I'm going to try and really go for it on the exercise front while I have the luxury of time and before m'son gets back to school. Will try doing the legs section of the davina power of three dvd tomorrow, though I remember being bow-legged and very sore for a number of days for the first few goes of that, so many squats

WI tomorrow, crossing my fingers that no peeking and being relaxed (in mood not in food!) has paid off this week :)

Mn, I do and I don't want to shout about it.... so, quietly...

:banana dancer:

6lbs off for me this week!

:D
