Hi everybody! :wavey:

I thought I would bite the bullet and start a new new new diary. Please feel free to stop by and say hi! My diary is probably going to be a random collection of my musings, food diaries, photos, recipes and anything else which pops to mind!

I've been here and done this so many times now it's not even funny but I am *was* one of those terrible yo-yo dieters. I lose weight, I gain more, I lose, I gain more and so on and so on. I think more than one or two of you will know how that goes :rolleyes:

And because I always know what I'm doing wrong when I'm gaining weight I get so fed up and angry with myself which continues the binge/comfort eating weight gain cycle but now I really am determined to do it this time.

I tried doing it online, and then entirely by myself but I always lied to myself, told myself that 'never mind you gained this week. NEXT week will be better' but it never was.

The short story is... in 8 months (from my wedding 29th May last year to 15th Feb this year) I had gained 2 stone 3lb and I rejoined a class on the 15th of February. I have had 2 weigh-ins since then and lost 6lb so far, which I am very pleased with. I was aiming for (to start) 7lb before my birthday (which is 2nd April) so that is looking good, and likely to exceed that target!

So here is a few pictures of my weight gain from my wedding to now. My final target is actually a stone less than I weighed at my wedding (which was 9 months ago) but just shows the rate at which I have piled weight on recently:

Strawberry Mousse

Strawberry Mousse
Ingredients:
200g Fat Free Fromage Frais
200g Strawberries
Sugar free strawberry jelly powder.


Instructions:
  1. Make up the jelly powder with 200ml boiling water, allow to cool.
  2. Blend the fromage frais with strawberries
  3. Add the 200ml jelly mix to the blended strawberry mix and give it a good blitz in the blender to mix it all together.
  4. Pour into 4 dishes/bowls/sundae glasses, and refrigerate until set. (doesn't take too long)
1.5 syns per serving on all plans

Serve with strawberries and 12.5g Anchor light Aerosol cream 1 syn.
 
I have just resisted cake! :D

Some people just came around to work selling cakes for a local charity and I said 'no thanks!' Impressed with myself. Especially when I saw the malteser chocolate refrigerater cake a colleague bought. It looked awfully synful! :innocent0002:

Hi BlondeGem, thanks for stopping by :) I was reading your diary yesterday and was going to say hello but I was work and someone actually asked me to DO something! The cheek! So I never got around to it.. We seem to be similar heights and have a similar target weight. :)
 
I've been thinking I might take some measurements and then I can see where I'm loosing weight from besides just a scales reading. I know I've only lost 6 lb so far (and hopefully a bit more at WI tomorrow) but I know out will be quite a while before I feel like I've lost weight, so maybe if I check measurements- say once a month, it should be encouraging to see those figures go down..

I think I will get the husband to help me with measurements tonight. I'm rubbish at doing it by myself as the tape measure ends up all over the place!
 
Well, I'm sat here in my pyjamas, drinking peppermint tea, watching Jeremy Kyle.. but I have a doctors appt in half an hour. Need to get a wiggle on... (luckily docs is only 2 mins away)
 
Back from the doctors, got my medication so that's nice. I've been suffering really bad with acid reflux. To the point that I will wake up and be sick :( I've had these tablets since just before christmas and there is definite improvement when I'm on them but symptoms return when I'm off them. The doctor did say today that losing weight is not a bad idea... as if i need any more reasons to lose weight. :rolleyes: That and seriously cutting down on alcohol which, luckily, the slimming world plan naturally does as you can only have so much within your syns. :cool:

It's funny cos I was thinking the same - we are similar heights/BMI's and have a similar target, both got married in May (although I was 2009), both were 11st on our Wedding Days and it looks like you're a cat lover (from your last photo) - me too! :D

Have you got hubby to take your measurements yet? I think it's a good idea, especially if we have those weeks where we don't lose anything, or very little.

Hope the meds start working soon for the acid reflux, it's not pleasant is it?

Thanks. Yeah it its not pleasent at all. I'm in a fair amount of pain at times :(

We have a cat called harold. He was checking out my christmas present in that picture and luckily decided it wasn't for him, as it was a new phone so I'm not sure what he would have done with it! :)

Just had WI and have lost 1.5 lb. :D got my first award :)

I'm doing fine with SW, but then I have done it several times before (I must learn to not get complacent and put back on all the weight I lose :rolleyes:)

I do remember back in the very beginning it did take a little while to get your head around everything. I remember the very first week I did it I ended up doing something which was very like Extra Easy plan, even though the Extra Easy plan didn't exist back then, just because I was muddled with all the free foods. Once you get your head around and know all your free foods inside out it's a lot easier :)
 
Your doing really well :) And there is nothing like a doctor telling you its a good idea to lose weight, kept me motivated haha

Add in the fact I have a ligament problem with my foot and knee which is certainly not being helped by being overweight, if not caused by the weight gain, I really can't have many more reasons. :rolleyes:

It's sad that at not even 31 I fell like I'm falling apart :cry:

Honestly, those pics (and others) just make me want to cry. I wasn't even happy with my weight on my wedding day and just felt fat and blobby- although everyone assures me I looked fine. I haven't even sorted out the professional photos with the photographer yet (which we paid a LOT for) because I'm so unhappy with how I look in pretty much all the pics :(
That will always be a big regret.. not losing more for the wedding :(
 
Feeling quite unwell today. Really nauseous and bleurgh :jelous:

Have managed to have an Activia Fat Free for breakfast, but don't know what I'm going to feel like eating for lunch..:jelous:

*edit* went with wholemeal bread and cheese spread in the end. Something fairly bland and light. Used all my HEBs and one HEA an no free/superfree but least it wasn't bingeing on something inappropriate. Still feel bleurgh :(
