Amanda's amazingly scary start to weight loss diary!

Hello lovelies!!
My name is Amanda and only a year and a bit ago i dropped 3 stone through basically working out 2 hours every other day and existing on only brown rice and steamed veg every day (yep....BORING!). Unsuprisingly I grew sick of the unsociable and stupid diet I was on and began to eat normally again. But alas, the taste of beautiful food such as BBQ ribs and dominos pizza (plus also a new relationship.. oooh get me!) lead me to put on pretty much all of the weight that I had lost :(. So here I am after many days of avoiding the mirror, making a cave in my duvet and sleeping instead of doing fun things like shopping and also beginning to be constantly paranoid that my boyfriend doesnt fancy me anymore even though the poor blighter thinks I am crazy for thinking this, basically deciding to making the big step towards possibly being happy with myself!
I started Slimming World 3 days ago and have ate SOOOOOO much fruit (the gas isnt sexy! :eek:) and I am not allowing myself to go anywhere near scales until my weigh in at my next SW sess (on tues). I am feeling a bit unsold on the apparent loss of weight I will experience whilst eating ALL of the food in my diary though? I've been eating like a blooming horse!!! how can this possibly work?!?! I just want to be confident again (violins at the ready!). I really need some support as im not convinced that this is going to work and Im feeling skeptical.

I can't offer a vast amount of help, as I am a newbie too (joined SW on 14 May). I felt just like you after my first week but lost 4.5lbs and then in the second week I had even been less strict with my syns and still lost 3.5lbs. I am more nervous this week as I missed a WI as I was on holiday where I only drank beer and ate rubbish. I am trying not to panic too much, and remember that even a 1lb loss is in the right direction. I am sure you will be ok at WI, but I think it is normal for new people to feel that they are eating loads - I started at the same time as 3 other ladies, and they all said they are eating more now than ever (both lost 6lbs in 2 weeks!).

I had my 4th weigh in on thursday. I've gone in feeling a bit sheepish every week, convinced I must of gained due to the sheer volume of food I feel like I'm eating. I've lost 11lbs so far,
WI 1: -4 lbs, WI 2: -3.5 lbs, WI 3: -0.5lb WI 4: -3 lbs

I think it's great you've made the decision you have and hopefully you can enjoy getting to being comfortable and confident again :)

Being paranoid in a relationship sucks :( I've been with my hubby 10 yrs married 3 and I still went through periods of this :(

I felt much the same as you, no way could I eat All the food, which I seemed to be ;D and still lose weight. Here I am though 18 weeks later, almost 3st lighter and still enjoying the excitment of 1-3lbs weight loss each week
 
I know what you mean. I love this diet as you can eat loads of lush food AND still lose weigh. It's fab.

Thanks for the comments guys they have really helped calm me down lol! Im just shocked as I ve always ate like a pig but on this diet Ive been eating like a cow with the munchies!!!! I suppose I will have to see if this really works when I get weighed on tuesday (eeeek!!) how much weight did everyone lose in their first week? Its weird, one minute I feel slimmer and then the next I feel mahooooosive lol!!

AAAAARRRRGH!! The family have decided to come round armed with LOADS of cakes including lemon drizzle :drool: which is my faveourite!!! This is torture! Help!!!! xx
 
I was scared at my first WI as I thought I had eaten loads, however I was really chuffed to have lost 4.5lbs!!!

Good luck for Tuesday - step away from the lemon drizzle! Haha.
 
At my first weigh in I had lost 7.5lbs. I think you get to eat so much now because most of the foods that are free/super free are that low in calories or have a high calorie density making you fuller well before you've even come close to your daily calorie intake
 
It's still so weird to grasp though lol!! But I'm definately not complaining coz im loving eating like a pig haha! Ive got my 1st weigh in tomorrow so wish me luck!!!!

p.s I tried SW chips for the 1st time today...OMG beautiful!
 
Hiya!!!! well at my weigh in on tuesday Ilost (drumroll please!)........4lbs!!!!!!!!!!! :bliss:I was so shocked!!!! my mate did one better and lost 6.5 lbs the jammy swine lol!!! I'm really chuffed with it! Ive set myself a small weight loss target of 2lbs next week, I usually set myself really stupid and unrealistic goals and always beat myself up for not reaching them so I'm trying to be sensible for once. OOOh another plus is that on tuesday I got a brace fitted. This brace is pure evil, it hurts everytime I move my mouth, I have a lisp and my mouth is being sliced by the little bugger and I have to wear it for 6 months. Why is this a plus? I can hardly eat anything so hopefully it will make me loose weight lol!!! I guess I will find out next tuesday! How did everyone elses weigh ins go? I'm hoping everyone is happy yah? :)

Well done - that is great. It makes you feel dead spurred on for the next week too doesn't it? I am off to WI now, fingers crossed!

Try not to be disheartened. I know how you feel, I thought I had been dead good all week and then I only managed to STS at WI. I am really trying hard not to fall out with the whole thing now, and have been trying to exercise and ensure I write down EVERYTHING!

I find for me.. the only time I stumble as such is probably at the weekend.. merely down to being at home more and boredom.. gotta try and get organised in time for the summer holidays.
 
Hi everyone I havent been online in ages because sooo much has happened in the last week. firstly I was at my boyfriends so didnt have much access to the internet. Secondly Ive managed to get myself a job in brighton so i had about 3 days to find somewhere to live! ahhhh im soo excited!!! I LOVE brighton and my boyfriend lives there and ive managed to get a place (very small bedsit, but still v. cute) right near the beach!!! I didnt have time to go to my SW weigh in and because of all the rushing around brighton trying to find somewhere to live I have been following sw exactly to plan. Any way because I didnt go to the meeting i decided to weigh myself at home and Ive lost 2lbs! :) Pretty weird seeing as I havent been that well behaved with my food intake but hey ho I like it lol!!

so I will be moving to Brighton in 5 days eeek!!!
