Less of the fiddling and more of the doing! Fiddlermum's SW diary to get to goal.

Really likes to eat
No more messing around. Joining SW on Wednesday and am determined I'm going to get to goal. Think I have about 2st to lose, give or take a pound or two. Will decide what to stop at when I get there!

I actually joined a class last month, but only went twice as I couldn't get my head around the diet, hated going myself and only lost 1/2lb on my first week, much to the shock of the consultant. I think she was more disappointed than me to be honest!

So am joining a new class on Wednesday and my mum and two of my sisters are going with me :) Got a voucher from Bella mag for free joining fee too - result!

Have spent a lot of time reading through this forum and think I am finally understanding the plan. Can see where I was going wrong in my previous, brief attempt. So here goes - countdown to a gorgeous body for my overseas holiday in December!

Haven't done much exercise this week, apart from a night's fiddle playing on Friday night for a load of American tourists (great fun!) which was very energetic! So are off to a local loch to have a cycle round it. That should hopefully burn a few cals.

A bit worried about the curry I had yesterday - it's hard to find a curry that isn't loaded with fat! We had spent the day out at the Edinburgh Fringe and the girls were absolutely starving so it was a last minute decision. Hopefully cycling today will go a little towards making up for it.

Just had baked beans and baked potato for lunch - so yummy!!!! Am eating lots of fruit which I am really enjoying. And trying not to go overboard on Muller lights, but I am becoming addicted...

Love, love, loved the cycling yesterday! Have a very tender butt from the seat, but it is well worth it! We are going to go out with the girls cycling more often now, and are looking to invest in a cycle carrier for the car. Having four girls makes it difficult to transport 6 bikes anywhere...

Half ten and I haven't even had any breakfast yet. Off to have bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and maybe some beans. Yum.

Having a day off from the office today and for once I have the house to myself - a VERY rare occurrence! dh, dd1 and dd2 are all at work, dd3 and dd4 stayed at their friend's house overnight. No doubt they will arrive home soon and shatter my peace. Am making the most of the time I have to myself to post on here and update my sw online food diary. Also need to plan what I'm having to eat today.

Feeling very positive today - might go for a run later!!!!

Oh I see you started class last wednesday
I have just phoned a consultant that runs a class on wednesday I am hoping to join (just waiting to hear from her)

I will be following your progress as only one week separates us

I will be following green days only due to being a vegetarian

well done on getting that cycle out I have to admit to preferring walking :):)

Hello! That's good - we can applaude or commiserate one another every wednesday! Of course I'm sure there will be more applauding than commiserating... :innocent0001: Will be looking to see how you get on in your new class :)

Well, had 'brunch' of bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms. Ditched the beans and used my b hex of 2 slices of hovis from a small loaf. Well full now!

Have decided I can't be bothered to go shopping today so am giving dh and the girls meals I have had in the freezer, which I can't now have (full of olive oil or cheese). I will have boiled rice with veg added and possibly bacon, with soya sauce. Love that.

Girls turned up for 2 seconds and disappeared again to their friend's house. Bliss!!!!

there is you loving the bliss of an empty house and me going stir crazy :):)
at the moment (due to surgery) I cannot drive nor walk far so am stuck in the house

I really look forward to applauding your progress :)
I am sure doing with with someone will help me
H xx

Let me think on that one :):)
I really dont want to put the taxi sign back on the car :):)

Aaargh have just realised that the bacon I have been using all week is not back bacon, it is STREAKY BACON! So now I have had to add on 3 syns every time I have had it. Gah! At least it was wafer thin - could have been a lot worse.

And the annoying thing is that I bought 2 packs of 16 slices!! Grrrr. Ah well, you live and learn.

feed them to the rest of the family or put them in the bin
YOU are not a bin so dont feed them to yourself
as for bacon check out the turkey bacon and the weight watchers bacon - already has the fat removed
just make sure the family know that some stuff is for you only

tomorrow I am going into town with my daughter and I will buy a sharpie pen and I will write on the boxes the packets the amount of syns in things so that I dont have to keep looking them up :) think when I finally hear back from the consultant and get my access to things this will make it easier for me - even if a bit time consuming in the first couple of weeks

what meals have you had today

ps its even worse when they start to drive - you need to start a car fund as they will always be asking for a few quid here and there for this and that
my DD first car was a mini so we saved all the coins under 50p in a pot and called it mini money :):)

Good idea re the bacon. I will steer well clear of it - why waste syns on something when you can have the same thing free?! Toddled off to Tesco and got some bacon medallions - all the fat has been removed so much better. I do really like turkey bacon - especially the smoked one.

It will be good once you have got to class as you can use the sw online site to record your meals every day. I find it much easier and you can find the syn value of everything. Even if an item hasn't been listed there is a syn calculator which helps you to work out the syns. That's what I did with the flamin' streaky bacon.

My meals today have been:

'a' HEX 350ml skimmed milk

BF - streaky bacon (3 syns grrr), eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, 2 slices hovis wholemeal sm loaf ('b' HEX), lighter than light hellmans mayo (1/2syn) -

L - actually, the above was bf and lunch in one - I had it so late!

Snack - Total 0% greek yogurt with no-sugar jelly crystals sprinkled in (yum) 1/2 sin

D - boiled rice, peppers roasted and mixed in. Had planned to put a lot of veg in and add soy sauce, but discovered had run out of everything except peppers!! Had also planned to mix bacon in, but that plan went out the window when I discovered I would have to add another 3 syns....

Banana

I haven't eaten an awful lot today and I'm quite hungry. Got quite a lot in when I was at Tesco so might make myself a snack of something in a bit. Overall 4 syns which is good as went waaaaay over on Saturday and have been trying to make up for it!

Nooooo - was expecting to be a bit better off once I stop running the girls here, there and everywhere!

honestly the older they get the more they seem to cost you
but they do leave home eventually :):)

I must say your do seem to have eaten quite a bit and it doesnt sound like 'diet' type food :):) but I know this already

well the consultant didnt ring me back so thinking she could be on holiday
S and I will just turn up there on Wed morning and see what happens - I also tracked her down via facebook and sent her a message that way
I am expecting a reply to one or the other either a sorry I didnt get back to you or an apology if she is at the class and its not a stand in consultant - if not it wont be a good start as good manners cost her nothing - especially as I will be adding to her income :):)

I have had out my very very old book to look at and if somehow I had access to syns (no not asking you) I am sure I could still do this but for now I will choose healthy options and see what happens :)

hope you have a lovely day today if any of your girls are waiting for they higher results today good luck to them I hope they have done well :)

I have returned!! Everything has been frantic this last few days and just havent had a second to get on the computer. Haven't got used to using the site on my new phone yet.

Anyway, WI was on Wednesday and I lost 3 1/2lbs!! Really pleased. Am still amazed as I am eating so much! Feeling better in myself already, although it is purely psychological.

Have been great so far this week. Menu for today was (I'm on EE btw):

BF 35g fruit n fibre with banana and mullerlight. Cereal is SO much nicer with yogurt rather than milk. I hate how the milk makes it soggy but the yogurt doesn't.

L Roast chicken, skin removed, salad of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, grapes. Papaya and more grapes for snack.

D Rice and baked potato with tuna and sweetcorn mayo (made with Hellmans lighter than light - 1/2SYN) on top, with lots more salad - lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, celery and a tbp of low fat cheddar - 3 SYNS (it was probably less but erring on the side of caution). Tbp Be Good To Yourself coleslaw, which is yukky and wasted 1syn.

So far this week have had 4.5SYNS as didn't have any yesterday, so having a few glasses of vino tonight!

so glad you are back
and well done on that loss its amazing - deserved but still amazing

as for the coleslaw I make my own with any chopped up veggie I like but always cabbage red onion and grated carrots but often add in grated celeriac and swede and dakon
then I use 0% total yoghurt and some lighter or lighter than light mayo for the dressing
all my family like it and my DD always asks me to take it with me if we do a shared meal :)

Hello lovely! Yum, that sounds like it would hit the spot. Will definitely make my own from now on - honestly the one from Sainsburys was nasty. dd3 said it was too 'spicy' for her. No way coleslaw should be spicy! It was in fact very tart - tasted like they had added mustard, yikes.

Really should go to bed....

What a glorious day! Spent this morning in practise with a few of the band members, did a quick shop at Tesco then rushed home and have sat in the sun with a book ever since! Fab. Are having a bbq tonight yum.

Took a fancy for quiche so bought WW's crustless quiche, devoured it at lunchtime then found out it was 12.5 syns aargh! Still, I really did enjoy it.

Last night I had three (large) glasses of wine so will need to watch my syns for the next few days!

Menu for today:

350ml skimmed milk

Bacon, egg, 2 slices wholemeal (sm loaf) - HEX (b)

Banana

Crustless Quiche (12.5sys), lettuce, tomato, cucumber, celery, grapes, 1tbp very low mayo (0.5 syns)

Muller Light with dark choc and cherry layer 1.5 syns

BBQ pork and chicken with more salad and veggie rice (with sweetcorn, mushrooms and peppers).

14.5 syns today despite the quiche.
