    Nettee's Christmas madness

    I have just weighed in for the last time before Christmas and am now only 2 1/2 lb above my target

    the children are now off school for three weeks and normality returns on 9th January.

    On that day my aim is to still be in single figures in the 9s (ie 9st 9.5 lb or less). Bonus aims include keeping my shiney new 2 1/2 stone award, maintaining or even losing a teensy bit more. Christmas will be well over by then so I ought to be able to undo some Christmas damage in the first week of January.

    I have started badly by eating everything I can see this afternoon and I am off out for a Christmas do this evening.

    My plan for the first 9 days until weigh in is where the madness begins. I am going off SW and am going to do a version of the 5:2 diet where tomorrow and next Thursday I only eat 500 calories. I will attempt to be mainly sw on the other days but will not get too worked up about it as it is Christmas week. I am sure this will be enough to put me off intermittant fasting for life and I plan to try to be on plan as much as is feasable after 28th December. Hoping though that next weeks gain will be minimised.

    I intend to weigh in daily for the next 9 days and then go back on official weigh days only after that. I will attend group and I will post on here to attempt to maintain motivation.

    I continued to eat lots yesterday - had a good evening out and a 1 1/2lb gain for this morning's weigh in

    I am now over half way through my first fasting day and so far so doable. I am having 5 small snacks/meals of around 100 cal each - sw principles are helping as I am having lots of superfree to make it feel more like I am actually eating something! Hunger is going up and down but not to extremes so far. It is all I am thinking about today though - I suppose partly because it is new and exciting - although thinking about what I am eating, when I am eating so little is a bit silly......

    I am intending to have a reasonable sw day tomorrow as there is no reason why not.

    I have had 507 calories today and have finished eating. Strangly haven't felt hungry in the later half of the day, it is like my body has accepted the fast for today and isn't fighting it. I do feel like I am working a night shift - kind of sluggish survival mode. Also have had a bit of a head ache but have kept drinking water which i think is helping. find it hard to believe this is meant to be good for the health.

    3lb off - 1.5lb altogether. Have had a big bowl of pudding rice, muller light and fruit for breakfast but I wasn't hungry for it and I still feel weird. Will see if the cravings hit later but planning a larger portion sw day all day. Have left over chilli in the fridge for lunch - yum!

    One extreme to the other here - afternoon binging. I do feel more normal now though. Seriously considering not repeating the experience next week. Will see how I am tomorrow and have another look at success express maybe.

    2lb up this morning so + 1/2lb so far. Not suprised after two days of excessive eating. I think I am going to do my best to follow ee principles over the next three days where I can. I honestly felt like the fast was a 48 hour ordeal from which I am not yet completely recovered - although nearly thank goodness. So probably shouldn't do it again.

    Also if I do that the day before weigh in then I would essentially be cheating and in for a massive gain for the following week.

    So next thursday either I will come crawling back to sw and do success express or I will try 800 cal instead (at risk of all the arguments above applying).

    Chinese this evening after a synned to the max day. Fairly low syn options though. Oh yes and wine so not a brill sw day but a good family pre Christmas Day anyway :-)

    Another 1 1/2 lb on so 2 in total so far. Scary how quickly the numbers on the scales can change. I am sure it is mainly fluctuations in fluid levels though.

    I am Intending to go out for lunch today so can't expect much better for tomorrow..... At least if I fill up at lunch time I will be less likely to graze all afternoon.

    Also I am doing the Christmas grocery shop - how many syns can I put in the trolly? Lots of super free satsumas to compensate!

    Christmas eve and a panic tidying and cleaning day is due. Also perhaps a panic sw day before Christmas tomorrow. Another 2lb up after lunch out yesterday and starting on the chrismas treats that I bought in the supermarket in the morning. They are low syn treats but of course depends how many you have! So the running total is 4lb up in 5 days and this is before Christmas has even arrived .

    OK, a positive decision for today
    i will have an ee 100% day and for supper we will have lamb shanks in mint gravey for 1/2 syns with celeriac mash and broccoli.

    So far today no syns and no hexs - and a lovely filling breakfast of egg, mushrooms and potatoes.

    Not an excessive day yesterday although I did enjoy some leftovers at lunch time and a small ish portion of non sw lasgane with salad at dinner. 1/2lb off this morning - now only a 2 3/4 lb gain.

    So today was supposed to be my second fast day - but I really can't go through another 500cal day. I have kept changing my mind between 800 cal and success express but have decided this morning to go for the 800 calories split over two meals (in sort of keeping with the original plan) and to have unlimited tea with milk, tomatoes and celery. I am still quite intreged by the fasting thing and this is longer stretches between anything substantial. Also I get the new sw pack tomorrow where I can read about se properly and maybe give it a try before next week's weigh in.

    Ought to bring my gain down to something quite small for tomorrow

    I have eaten all my allowance for today - again I don't feel that hungry, just a bit spaced out. Better than last week I think - maybe because of the extra 300 or so calories.

    I am not a convert to IF though - back on sw tomorrow!
