Hi Ladies and gents
My name is Emma and have just started slimming world, half a week in, and enjoying it so far. Im off work ill, and finding that i just want to talk about the diet and food all the time (in a positive diet friendly way), thought maybe this would help so my husband doesnt get too bored of me talking rubbish!

Havent had my first way in yet but feeling already less bloated. I am nervous about weigh in, cant believe i can eat all this lovely food and still lose weight, but heard and read nothing but positive comments, so im super happy.
Anybody got any great tips?

Hi Emma, I'm Emma!

Good luck with the plan - I'm sure that you'll fall in love with it like the rest of us!

My top tip is to really read the books and to make the most of free foods.

Good Luck & It really is that easy lol

I totally know what you mean about wanting to talk about it as Im same and my husband will look at me enough to say WHAT?! lol He has started getting his head around different syn values though which is quite good lol. I agree with Capri_girl, fill up on free foods and do use the lifetime online tool. Its great for finding syn values and recipe ideas. LAst but not least ask on here as there is always someone on here that knows the answer to your question lol. One useful thing I found that is delicious today is Muller light Luscious Lemon Greek Style yoghurt, 4 for £1 at farmfoods and only half a syn for a pot :D Great as a snack or with fruit after a meal :D Anyhoo good luck with your weight loss journey and yes its understandable you will be nervous at first meeting but there will welcome you with open arms. It truly is a great place to go to and the best bit is you don't feel like you are on a diet :D Win win situation :D All my best wishes Wendy

Hi Emma, think I'm falling in love with it already. Feel like I can eat anything I want with a bit of effort!
Tonight for dinner we had fajitas with lettuce wraps instead of normal wraps, with a side of sweet corn and SW chips!
They are sooo easy to make. Really happy so far. Lets hope I am on Thursday when I find out what I've lost! :) x

I'm sure that Thursday will be a good day! I weigh in on Saturday morning - cant wait to get to group and find out how successful week one has been!

I first did it over 4 years ago and lost 2 and half stone and again after my 2nd child. This is my 1st week back on 3rd time :D Not planning any more babies so should stay off now unless I marry again lol xx I swear it was that this time lol

this sounds good! and what a subtle way of getting that 1/3 superfree in! have never tried fajitas this way but i just might give it a bash! x

Xmisskx, it's great, didn't really feel like I was missing the wraps, and I love fajitas, we eat them all the time, so I'm glad I've figured out a healthy way to have them.
Wendy, I am positive that this time you'll stick to it! You've already got loads of knowledge which will help, and like you say no more babies, so you can get your yummy mummy body and keep it! When's ur first weigh in? X

Good luck Emma:)

When I made fajitas I used to make egg wraps.
I used one egg per wrap, beat it with a tablespoon of water and dry fry it in a pan on one side then flip over and fill as normal, and these are free too .

These sound great but unfortunately I can't eat egg. Would be so much easier if I did! Lol. Will try them for hubby tho, so thank you!! Xx

i think i might give it a bash...what mix/spices do you use to make your fajitas? before sw,i used some of the old el paso smokey bbq one to season but not sure how i would get that flavour without using it...anyone know?
are all jars of spices etc free? i noticed a bbq type one the other day but havent checked x

I had a left over fajita kit in the cupboard so I just used the spice packet from that. I think ud be able to get the spice packet for the BBQ one without the rest if the kit?
As far as I know all spices are free, as long as no oil, so no squeezey garlic which I love!! I used it all the time. Xx

so would the old el paso mixes be free then...OMG that's great for me if it is! :D
can anyone else confirm....? x

Really fed up of food today, not interested in anything, not even bad stuff.
It all started with breakfast, I normally eat toast, but not keen on brown bread I'm reaaaallly trying to like it. I don't eat eggs or milk, so I'm just eating yoghurt and fruit and it gets a bit boring.

So today's food diary so far
breakfast: skipped
mid morning: vegetable pasta
late lunch: homemade spicy tomato soup, although only ate half a bowl as I'd put a bit too much chilli in. Had a tangerine after.
Dinner: the plan was to make a chicken and veg curry, start a bit of a use up of the fridge. Just can't be bothered to go and start again with the cooking.

Hoping ill feel better once I've seen I've list some weight, it's just quite hard work planning all hubby's meals so that he sticks to the plan too! He loves his crisps and chic so needs a low syn normal diet to get his treats in.
Moan over, ill report back later how my curry goes x

Hi, on the SW app the old el paso fajita spice mix is 4.5syns
Its only fresh herbs that are free i think an salt pepper oregano chilli powder..etc
The 4.5 is for the whole packet tho so if you make a couple of batches of it im sure it will be worth the syn value :)

Hi, Glad you enjoying it so far, i started jan last year lost nealry 2 stone.. went on holiday and fell off the wagon until now,and i put about a stone and half back on :( but hopefully lose it again this time!

Those old el paso mixes and other fajita mixes etc i think (dont quote me lol) have wheat flour? in them or rice flour perhaps so they are synned, if you have a spice mix where its just spices like cumin, coriander, garlic, chilli etc with no oil and no 'flour' then its free, I'm pretty sure most the fajita spice ones have some syns but not loads, hope that helps

Damn it!! I was wrong! Sorry, I spice mix is 4 and 1/2 syns, but u guess that's not too bad still. We ate half each so only 2 and 1/2 max. I once had a Schwartz spice jar fajita flavour which could be free, but can't find it online. It didn't really taste the same tho. Maybe paprika would give you the BBQ smokey flavour. Might try and make my own fajita spice mix.
Xx

I sometimes feel like that, especially all the washing up from cooking fresh all the time puts me off lol do you make double portions? i find this really helps if im being lazy or feeling under the weather, you can get some take-out plastic boxes on auction sites for fairly cheap so you can make double and then put some meals in the freezer which is great when you can't be bothered, just stick in microwave and your done!

I love crisps and savoury things and really struggled giving up crisps, however pom bear crisps are only 5 syns a bag, or for a treat seabrook most are around 7 syns, you can get mini bags of hobnobs/digestives/mini jaffa cakes etc which are usually around 6 syns, and because they come in a little bag your not tempted to eat more like if you opened a packet of biscuits in which i could easily eat half a packet lol they are quite often on offer for £1 in supermarkets too, if you have a sweet tooth have you tried quark and white chocolate options mixed together? its nice and sweet and gorgeous eaten with fresh strawberries! the options is 2syns a sachet, i usually use 1/2 tub of quark to 1 sachet.
