Tall and fat! New to EE and in need of help and support!- My ramblings xx

Hello anyone that may be reading this...

I dont know if Im posting in the right bit or really where im meant to post or if anyone will read this.
I just thought that Id try to write down how im feeling and if anyones about thatd be great.

I live in the North East of England, im 24 but soon to be 25. I never appreciated being thin as a teenager and during uni the weight crept on. I did a diet and lost weight and vowed never to be a fool that put it all back on, yet wait I am that FOOL and its so so easy to let happen!

So here goes...

October 2011 I started a different diet (am I allowed to name names?!) It was very hard going but within a few months I had dropped down from 15.7 to 13 and was over the moon. The weight stayed off and in March ish time I was a size 12! It was strange though I didnt really recognise that I was despite being able to buy that size. I think when I stopped the diet and the weight stayed off I got abit cocky and started having the wrong foods again from May time I knew id put a little back on, by July I knew id put alot back on then I sort of just stopped thinking about it....

UNTIL! December 2012 I got weighed and ID PUT IT ALL BACK ON AND MORE!!!!
I could have cried and have done a few times since!

Ive been making excuses for myself like well im moving house in about a month so dont start yet and its my bday in a few weeks etc but enough is enough. Theres a SW group on Tuesday and Im going to go.... Im scared, v v scared. I dont like the thought of being the fat one in the room or of failing.

Ive been online and looked at things and it seems like you can eat soooooooooooooo much which is what is confusing me I think, how can you have unlimited pasta?? surely everyone knows that carbs are from the devil??
Im determind to go on Tuesday.... ekkkk.

One of my friends (new to our group) txt me the other day saying how fat she was and that she was huuuuuuuuuuuge, I said she wasnt at all which is true, shes chubby but not fat like me, she replied saying she was 14 stone, I was sat at my desk thinking god id LOVE to be 14 stone, I once WAS 14 stone! I feel like im currently so big im going to take over the world!!

I know people will be bigger than me, and smaller than me but we are all in the same boat, wanting to loose weight for one reason or another.

If anyones reading this, please please please keep me right!

Welcome Emma! Swimming world is such a fab plan, easy to stick to and you never go hungry. When are you joining group? (Sorry if you said that can't look back at your post once I've started replying on the ipad ap!)

I think most if not all of us have been exactly where you are, and maybe not for the first time!!

I'm rejoining SW tonight, i'm rejoining because i KNOW it's the only plan or diet i've ver tried that works! It changes the way you eat and what you eat, but still allows for treats..nothing is off limits if you want it. But its a little bit of give and take! There are amazing recipes on here, at group, in recipe books. I'm sure you'll love it!

As for Group, DO NOT be scared......you will not be the only 'fatty' in the room. Every member is there for the same reason, TO LOSE WEIGHT and feel happier in themselves. It's like a little social gathering where you can find inspiration, laughter and motivation!

I had a really tough year last year, and still not out the other side, it affected my mindset, i couldnt make group, eat att he righ times etc.....but i've decided 2013 is all about ME!!

Good luck i am sure you will love it....

p.s you can name names...what did you try??

I intorduced my Sisters in Law to SW, they'd been doing Weight Watchers off and on for years.....they've lost 5.5 stone and 3.5 stone respectively and my 15 year old neice has lost 3 stone since April.... xx

EatenMess - awww thank you so so much! I know what you mean theyre all there for a reason but I just dont want everyone to be at target weight and be lil skinnies and me having to sit on two chairs or squeeze through the double doors sideways!!! lol.

I did Cambridge diet, oddly it was quite good and I didnt find it very hard but it was SO EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! plus it ruined my social life.

Once you have been to class the first time you will be fine, thats one of the biggest hurdles to get over. I was 28st 8.5lbs when i joined and im about half that now so the plan does work :)

I know its hard but try not to think about it until tuesday and as i have said once you have been to the first class you will be fine, your consultant will make you more than welcome along with the rest of the class.

I love the slimming world plan and now im at target i eat absolutley loads just to maintain my weight. Thats what i love about it theres something for everyone no matter how or what type of food you like and theres always a way of making your favourite foods the Slimming World way and they will taste great.

Hi Emma. I also am/was tall and fat but not as fat as I was. Have put some on over christmas but I know why so no problems. Having been to other groups and done the going to bed at 7pm because I had run out of points and wanted to eat, I found slimming world very different as I eat vats of pasta, every forthnight I make sw chips and it is a huge plateful. I have dessert after every meal and I mean every (if i could fit in a dessert after my fruit and yoghurt of breakfast then I would do too). so I never feel deprived. When I was over 17 stone I would have loved to be 15 stone 9 so it is all a matter of perception. But welcome and have a great time with your weight loss journey. x

I'm short and fat! I rejoined this week, I have my first weigh in on Saturday and I can't wait to see how much I've lost. SW is fab and I really hope you enjoy losing weight. Yes, you can enjoy losing weight with SW!!
 
Hiya Emma

SW is the BEST plan ever! I had never done any diets before and got to a stage where I thought - I need to lose weight for both myself and my health! The first time I walked through the doors I didnt know what to expect - especially being a lad too, but everyone is so warm and welcoming. Within a few weeks it will be like you have been going for years - it becomes a social group and you actually look forward to going every week to get weighed and for the craic. Staying to group is so worth it too (Image Therapy they call it). Especially if you have had an unexpected gain and feel a bit down - you will soon be back on track by the end of it!

I live in the North East too.

The plan is so easy to follow and you do lose weight on it too. I have lost 3.5 stone since August 2011 - altho I have put on 5lb over December, but I am back on the plan now and hoping for a loss on Monday.

Taster weeks are great when you stay to group -they give you new ideas of what to eat and cook etc

I rejoined this week Emma, I too am tall and fat but SW does work and you don't go hungry so stick with it and you will see results!!

I was 30st on 1st jan 2012, the weight i put on here is what i was when i joined slimming world so im half the man i was lol and hopefully ive lost the bad half ;)

Exercise wise i started out slow doing about 5 min a day on one of those floor bikes that you can sit on any seat/chair and use and i did a couple of walks at the weekend. And i just built it up from there and started weight training to. At the peak(maybe a bad word to use) i was doing 4-5 hours training a day which is and was crazy, you should never do that and please do not attempt it. I only did that for a short period of time but soon realised it was to much.

At the minute i am having to reduce my training down and am going for quality over quantity. Now this will sound crazy to ive been struggling to maintain my weight and i know 15st might sound alot but for my body frame its just right any less and il look to boney. Ive just started this week and im going to train 3-4 times a week and do between 60-90 mins each session maybe less. Ive found i am having to eat upto 8 meals a day just to maintain my weight and i thought id never say that.

And although i do follow slimming world i do eat very low fat content in everything i have and dont eat anything i would consider to be crap (crisps,chocolate,beer, etc) as thats the way i want to eat for the rest of my life now.

And i would say the biggest thing is get your head in the game if everything in your head is right then everything else will be easier.

Its my birthday on 24th and going out on sat 26th so hoping I could loose half a stone by then, thats like 3lbs a week?? x
