Last time lucky! 44 and time to fix it :D

Well, Ive done slimming world several times with varying degrees of success. Not because it doesnt work but because after a few days I start rebelling at being told what to eat, despite it being me thats doing the telling! But I get the plan, being able to eat loads works for me and I can integrate it into my life quite easily. The family is used to eating SW recipes and Ive really got into some of the tips like cooking with fry lite etc. The different thing Im going to focus on now, is in previous attempts I have chosen to ignore the 1/3 super free recommendation. Im not sure why, it just never seemed important so I glossed over that bit! Perhaps thats why Ive been going wrong? Anyway will make a much greater effort with it!

Im 44, well into the obese category with a BMI of 35.4 and am at the stage where I feel if I dont start to tackle this now, Im going to start really being impacted by my weight. On a positive note Im pretty active and mobile but I already have joint pain, am easily tired and cant do several yoga moves because my belly is in the way!

Ive been concious of the need to pull my finger out but last weekend I organised a horse agility event with the main purpose being to meet new like minded people - and when I saw the photos I was horrified at the double chin and huge belly. This is not the first impression I want to be presenting to new people!

Im successful, smart, confident and in control of my life and I love it. But the one thing I struggle to get on top of is my emotional and boredom eating. So this is it. I love forums for advice and support and I feel I can be pretty honest about my thoughts to 'get them out there' - Im aware of my thoughts and feelings but havent ever written them down before so I think it will be good to have a record to refer back to. So hello, new friends but be warned Im a talker!!!!!!

B: porridge and semi milk (hex a and b)
L: smoked trout salad (oil based dressing 2), roast mutton with veg (roasted in oil 2) gravy (5) and yorkshire pud (5.5), cheese (12) and biscuits (10), half bottle red (18). Pre arranged lunch date at posh hotel so didnt worry about it too much
D: muller light and a banana

Total syns 57.5!!!!!!! WTF! It was good but not THAT good! All you can eat chinese tomorrow as well. Whilst it looks bad, I have done my best to compensate on the other 2 meals of the day - something I wouldnt previously have bothered with! Every bit helps and for me its about attitude and mind set - Im still feeling committed and positive and was happy to snack on a frozen yogurt tonight so things are going ok!

I have exercise classes the next 3 days so that'll help.

Gosh it looks like I started this time last year, and unfortunately it didn't last long. However this time around I have set myself a target of losing 2 stone by the time we go on holiday on 10th June and Im being sponsored per pound to raise money for Bournemouth Gateway Club. Im finding having a specific (and pretty tough at 3 lb a week average) goal and people 'watching' me to see how many pounds I lose, a pretty huge incentive. Im now just coming up to four weeks in and am 10lbs lighter than when I started. This week has been an odd one - feast or famine - had a night out for a friends birthday which I planned for all day, ate steak and salad but the booze and bread sticks got the better of me. Hubbys been out two nights this week and Ive raided the cupboards while he's been gone (???!!!) but have had several saintly days too, so who know what the scales will say tomorrow! I feel well, my clothes are getting looser (and my belly wobblier!) but am still feeling pretty determined so fingers crossed for a positive result tomorrow and long may it continue. Ive been slimmer of the week two weeks in a row so hoping to make it a hattrick
