Hello everyone!!

I am currently around three and a half months into my SW journey and just over a stone down. I've been perusing the forum the whole time and dipped into the world of diary writing previously, but a combination of weddings, birthday and a holiday made me lose focus a bit.

Last week I had my first gain, one and a half pounds, and as I didn't feel I deserved it I had a bit of a sulk and devoured a pizza and several ciders that night! I honestly think that if I hadn't come on here afterwards the week would have been a complete write off - but I did, and reading everyone's inspirational stories and encouragement of each other made me snap out of my strop! I weigh on a Saturday morning and this morning was happily two pounds down - the mysterious one and a half plus a little extra!

So I'm back, to share my own journey with you all and to support you in your own goals.

Took fruit to class for after weigh in - mango, raspberries and nectarine

Morning!

Food plan for today:

Extra Easy

Breakfast

2 x slices small Wholemeal loaf (HExB) with baked beans and a sprinkle of cheese (HExA)

Lunch

Mugshot, pastrami, tomatoes, Pom bear crisps (5 syns)

Dinner

Beef brisket in ale gravy (free from Tesco! Syn free of course, not money free...!) with syn free roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding (2 and a half syns), broccoli and green beans

Snacks

Raspberries
Possibly a little bit of chocolate later!

Having a chilled day at home today which I can never quite decide is a good thing or a bad thing, foodwise!

Good - I'm not out being tempted by stuff or grabbing things quickly
Bad - my old habits of eating through boredom start creeping back in, if I'm reading or watching TV I just want to munch on crisps etc! I have prepared with a whole punnet of raspberries in my fridge which should keep me occupied :)

How has Monday come around so quickly?!

Had a cheeky bag of Freddo faces last night for 9 syns, delicious!! Took me to 19 for yesterday but on a weekend I can live with that :)

Going swimming after work today! - I went twice last week for the first time in well over a year and enjoyed it. I did not enjoy the walk of shame from changing room to pool as feel like everyone is looking and laughing. But I'm dealing with it by thinking that I'm clearly going swimming to do something about the state of me in a cossie so people are wrong to judge me!

Hpe everyone has a good start to the week!

Had a busy and stressful day at work, left late, and yet - shock! - really wanted to go swimming. Managed 22 lengths which I'm very proud of - last week I managed 12 the first time I went swimming and 18 the second time, so building up!

Then I got home and boyfriend, bless him, had been and done the shopping - and picked up some reduced mini samosas. He'd put them in the oven for a starter and they smelled amazing, plus I was starving! I had two and estimated 2 syns each, they were tiny - but I'm not sure if I have massively underestimated!

Now sitting watching Long Lost Families and having my weekly cry...

Well, last night went a bit wrong! Day was fine foodwise, then on the way home I started to think 'hmmm I fancy doing a bit of pudding tonight'. We had yoghurts near their sell by date, plus fruit, so I popped into the shop and got some plain digestive biscuits. Bashed them up, pressed into the bottom of a dish, and topped with sliced banana and toffee yoghurt for me (banoffee pie!! Kind of!) and sliced strawberries and strawberry yoghurt for the OH. All was going well until I checked the syn value (after I'd eaten it!!) and I'd had almost ten syns worth of biscuit!!!

I don't know why I was so stupid to eat them without checking the syn value first. I think in my head it was just 'oh plain biscuits, can't be bad syns!' Lesson learned!!

Oh well, today has been better...

Green

Breakfast

2 x Weetabix (HExB) with a splash of skimmed milk (1 syn) and a tiny sprinkle of sugar (1 syn)
Lunch

Mixed leaves with ham (HExB), cherry tomatoes, olives (1 syn) and feta cheese (HExA)

Dinner

Jacket potato with reduced fat cheddar (HExA) and a big side salad

Snacks

Pom bears (5 syns)
Banana
Strawberries

If I get peckish this evening will have my new favourite thing - the Muller Greek-style lemon yoghurts. Delish and creamy and only half a syn!!

Currently watching the England match - I tend to support England but as I'm part Scottish my OH has suggested a bet tonight. If Scotland win or draw he cooks me a three course SW meal! And if England win I do the same for him.

Therefore come on Scotland :D

It's the WEEKEND!!!

So happy. Although I got shocked awake by my alarm this morning! I weigh in at 10:30 so have to leave in a bit.

Not feeling good about it - had two cheeky mid week weighs this week. In Tuesday, one and a half off. On Thursday, I'd put on two pounds, putting me half a pound over my last official weigh in!!

Really don't know what to expect!

One pound off! Pretty happy with that.

My C told me I was SOTW, I didn't believe her, she put the sticker on my book and everything, then realised she was wrong!! Oops.

I peeled the sticker off my book when I got home (don't want to fake my achievements!) and stuck it on my OH's tshirt as he does not officially do SW but has lost 3 pounds this week! (He eats same food as me and goes to the gym 3/4 times a week so I suppose it makes sense - I am jealous though!)

I live in Birmingham and its the International Food Festival in the city centre this weekend, we're going this afternoon, need to be strong!!

Its going to be tough!!! I think I eat with my nose half the time, if something smells good I want it, I think of it as 'chip shop syndrome' (even if I'm full, if I smell a chippy I just want to eat it!)

I am having a very low syn day otherwise though so I think I can have a treat :D

Not at all!! You are more than welcome :D think I might have something small but won't go mad!!

I will confess...

Had a roast pork bap with apple sauce and stuffing.

It was deeeeeelicious!!!

And I'm not feeling terrible because:

* I'd only had fruit all day beforehand
* Dinner will only be a couple of syns
* If I'm going to be naughty I prefer to do it on a Saturday (I know cheating on weigh in day is the same as cheating on any other day but I still feel better about it :p)

Plus I resisted what I really wanted, which was cheesy potatoes. Mmmmmm!! They looked slathered in butter/cream so I said no! And I'm taking that as a victory ;)

Now curled up on the sofa watching the footy and eating raspberries. Going to be good and plan my food for the week!

Helloooo

Extra easy day today. Left over pasta bake for lunch and now cooking pulled pork with sweet potato mash and veg, mmmmm. Although I just had a totally stupid moment, was sat on the sofa merrily for an hour thinking the pork was in the oven and the whole time it was on the kitchen side, still frozen

Oh well, in positive news - new series of GBBO AND brand new Don't Tell The Bride tonight. Woo!

Sorry no proper updates - feeling a bit fed up this week!

Will get back on track with the diary next week I hope

Hi! Ahh it's lovely to see you here :)

I have finally added my diary to my sig so hopefully it is now easier to find!

Morning all

Sorry for my negative moment last night. I was feeling so fed up, I don't really know where it had come from but I was SO grumpy! I basically went on strike and just sat on the sofa all night, didn't want to cook or anything. Ended up not eating dinner even thought my boyfriend cooked, which I know is stupid!! It won't happen again today!

I think partly I was having a bit of a sulk because haven't really been feeling SW this week. I know it's an achievement to lose over a stone but I don't feel ANY different. At all. I don't feel slimmer, look slimmer, my clothes don't feel looser... I'm trying not to be too disheartened because I know SW works and I know the NSVs will come, but I just got a bit down about it.

Last night I was on minis quite a lot and it did really help. I've also decided to publish the first set of goals I have set (I have a list on the kitchen cupboard of all my goals up to my target, that I did when I first joined SW, but have just posted the first few on here :)) - hopefully this will help keep me focussed and also lets me celebrate my achievements publicly, which I think will help.

So!! Food for today, a rare red day...

Breakfast

2 x Weetabix (HExB) with a dash of skimmed milk (1 syn) and a sprinkle of sugar (1 syn)

Lunch

Mixed leaf salad with ham, feta cheese (HExA), olives (1 syn), and cherry tomatoes

Dinner

Chicken with cheesy cauliflower bake (HExA, 2 syns), carrots and green beans

Other

Pom bears (5 syns)
Banana
2 x Alpen lights (HExB)

I completely understand where you're coming from on this one. Its been a downfall of mine on diets before to lose a couple of stone and still not see or feel any different. It just made me think it was going to take FOREVER to see any actual progress and after a while I completely lost motivation and ended up back at square one. I think the mini goals idea is great, it's so nice knowing you're no more than a few weeks away from your next target. The SW half stone awards are fab as I always know I'm never too far away from my next award. I'm trying not to look at the bigger picture at the moment and just focus on my mini goals. I know in time it will start becoming noticeable but at my size I'm prepared for it to take 3 stone or so before I really start to feel differently. Just keep on plan and i'm sure by the time you reach 2 stones you really will be able to tell, in the mean time it's just a matter of plodding along I guess and using the mini goals to inspire you.

Sorry for rambling on but I also wanted to ask, how do you find the red and green days compared to EE? I've only ever tried EE so far, but I've got to say I love the idea of 2 lots of healthy extra's! :D I might try a green day at the weekend when I'm making my SW lasagna so I can make it extra cheesy!
