From one extreme to the other - food diary!

Ok, so thought I would start my food diary online as I visit this site almost daily & thought I would be more motivated to be honest when I can hide behind a computer screen ;)

So a bit about me...

I'm 23 years old and currently weigh 13 stone 7. I started Slimming World back in December weighing 16 stone 10. I no longer go to group as I found some of the members in my local group to take over a bit!

I've never had a paticularly healthy relationship with food, when I was 13 I suffered with an eating disorder that meant my weight dropped to 6 stone. After recovering from this, I over ate, I also became pescatarian which meant I would fill up on stodgy foods such as pizza and chips as I hadn't really been introduced to the joys of quorn and many other veggie delights!

I'm thrilled I've lost over 3 stone, but over the past 4 months, despite sticking to plan, I have hit a brick wall and don't seem to be losing anymore. So as part of my plan to kick start my weight loss again, I'm going to try a few things from keeping this diary to mixing up my meals a bit.

*Latest "Re-Start" on page 14! 5 stone down - 1.5 stone to go for wedding target on 01/08/16 and 3.5 stone to go to goal weight!*

So yesterday's meal consisted of:

Breakfast: Tangerine, Alpen Light Bar - Summer Fruits (1/2 HexB)

Lunch: 2 Ryvita (HexB), Alpen Light Bar - Lemon Drizzle (1/2 HexB), Apple, Velevet Crunch Thai Sweet Chilli (4 Syns)

Dinner: 125g Boiled Rice, Cajun Creamy Quorn (Quark, Quorn Chicken Pieces, Onions, Laughing Cow Light Triangles (HexA), Cajun Spices, Vegetable stock), Tomatoes, Peppers & Onions fried in Frylight, Asda Chocolate Mini Roll (Guesstimating 5 syns as that is how many the Cadburys ones are, which are pretty similar)

Drinks: Water, Coffee x 2 with SS Milk (HexA), Diet Pepsi

Totals:
HexA: 2
HexB: 2
Syns: 9
 
So yesterday was a busy day and was on my feet a lot with the added stress of a flat tyre in work :cry:! Plus I kind of messed around with my hexA's which I'm not sure I'm meant to do really...

Breakfast: Tangerine, Alpen Light Cereal Bar - Lemon Drizzle (HexB)

Lunch - Salad (Lettace, Peppers, Cucumber, Tomatoes) with home made potato salad (Quark, Lemon Juice, Chives, New potatoes) 2 Ryvita (HexB), Apple, Velvet Crunch - Thai Sweet Chilli (4 Syns)

Dinner - Veggie Spaghetti Bolognaise (Onions, Peppers, Garlic, Mixed Herbs, Oregano, Courgettes, Tomatoes, Passatta, Red wine vinegar, carrots, spring onions) with 125g Spaghetti pasta & 65g reduced fat cheddar (1.5 HexA) & 1 Vanilla Mullerlight Yoghurt

Drinks: Water, 1 Coffee with dash of milk (I'm going to say this is the other half of my hexA) Not too concerned if it's not as I was well below my syns today anyway!

So yesterday was a lot less busy and eventful! Spent the evening watching vampire diaries eating comfort food (slimming world style!)

Breakfast: tangerine, alpen light lemon drizzle bar (hexb)

Lunch: salad (lettuce, pepper, cucumber tomatoe) leftovers of yesterday's potatoe salad (quark, potatoes, lemon juice, chives) 45g of feta (hexa) Apple, 2 ryvitas (hexb) Thai sweet chilli velvet crunch (4 syns)

Dinner: mixed frozen veg (broccoli, peas, carrots, cauliflower) mashed potatoe (with quark to make it creamy and 40g reduced fat cheddar (hexa)) 4 low fat quorn sausages (syn free and lush!!) syn free onion gravy (made using onion, veg stock and smash) and vanilla mullerlight yoghurt. I took a photo of this but can't work out how to upload it from my phone!

So I had such a naughty weekend which is why I skipped filling out my diary :break_diet:*Whoops!*

I started off so well on Saturday with fruit and pasta arrabiatta for lunch but I was preparing food for my Grandad's suprise 80th birthday party which was yesterday so couldn't resist 'trying' one (or 10) of the brie and cranberry filo parcels I had made. Then after having spent all day cooking I decided I couldn't be bothered to cook again so resorted to chips & curry sauce from the chip shop! Then at the party yesterday my Aunty had made such an effort making such delicious food I decided it would be rude not to try a bit of everything (excuses excuses....!) Eton mess, baked alaska, quiche, crisps, halloumi the list is endless (... and shameful!).

So rather than dwell on it and beat myself up about it, I'm putting the weekend down as a write off and am back on plan today! Grapes & an Alpen light bar to wake me up (and a coffee ofcourse!)
 
Back on plan with a vengance :D

Breakfast: Grapes, Alpen light cereal bar lemon drizzle (hexb) coffee (will have to syn the milk in this as I forgot that I had it!! so I'm allocating 2.5 syns)

Lunch: Cold pasta salad with peppers, tomatoes, cucumber and 45g feta (hexa), 2 ryvita (hexB), velvet crunch thai sweet chilli (4 syns)

Dinner: 125g spaghetti pasta, Vegetarian bolognaise (quorn mince, garlic, peppers, onions, celery, carrots, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, mixed herbs, courgettes) with 40g reduced fat cheddar (hexa) & a toffee mullerlight yoghurt for desert.

HexA: 2
HexB: 2
Syns: 6.5

Quite a good day and happy that I managed to get back on plan - I always find it's so much harder getting back on plan after falling off the band wagon (I think it's the 'one more day won't hurt' mentality). One lesson learnt though always cover food - whilst making lunch for today last night, I left it on the side to cool down, only to turn around 5 minutes later and see one of my cats helping himself to my lunch! Pesky moggy!!
 
Had a cheeky weigh in yesterday :( really shouldn't have as now I feel so disheartened but my weigh day is now a Saturday morning so I'm going to try and ignore last night's number. Plus it was just after I'd eaten my dinner!

Breakfast: Forgot to bring my apple so just a Lemon Drizzle Alpen Light Bar (hexB) Coffee with SS milk (2.5 syns)

Lunch: Salad (Lettace & Tomato) with what was left of my home made quiche after the cat had eaten half (2 Eggs, Fat free cottage cheese, peas, sweetcorn, carrots, green beans, 45g feta (hexa), tomatoes, peppers, onions) 2 ryvita (hexB), Thai Sweet Chilli Velvet Crunch (4 syns)

Dinner: I was hunrgy so was bit of a piggy! 4 Low fat quorn sausages, Chips (1 normal potato & 2 sweet potatoes) & a pile of peas, sweetcorn, carrots & green beans - it was only afterwards I remembered that peas & sweetcorn aren't superfree but I think the carrots and green beans helped! 1 Toffee Mullerlight yoghurt.

Hello I am trying to do sw on my own too. I have been to group before but found that it didn't really help me too much and was dominated by some members. I'm 26 for now (turn 27 on the 26th oct) I'm 14.10 and really want to get at Lear 10lbs off by Christmas. I have 3st 10lbs to loose In total.

Yeah, that's the exact same reason I stopped going - it started to become a chore and as you said some people seem to forget that there are other people in the group - not just them!

How long have you been doing SW? 10lbs by Christmas is definitely achievable!
 
Getting a bit confused with my HexA's. Admittedly I forgot to have them yesterday until I had a coffee at my Mum's however this was only a splash of skimmed milk in my coffee - so how do I count this? As a pat of my hexA or synned?

Breakfast - Tangerine, Alpen light bar - lemon drizzle (hexB)

Lunch - Salad (Lettace, Carrot, Peppers) Pasta, Quorn Roast Chicken style slices (1 syn), 2 ryvita (hexb), apple, Velvet crunch thai sweet chilli (4 syns)

Dinner - Butternutsquash curry (if memory serves I got this from Pete's recipe book thread!) - Onion, celery, madras power, garlic, ginger, stock, butternut squash, red peppers, quorn chicken style pieces with 125g boiled rice. Toffee mullerlight yoghurt for pudding!

Drinks: water & 1 coffee with skimmed milke (hexa?)

HexA: None really
HexB: 2
Syns: 5

EDIT: I forgot about the 2 microwavable poppodams I had with dinner which were 1.5 syns each! So syns were 8!

I've only just started up again this week. I don't usually eat my HE A's because I don't use milk but if probably be tempted to class it as that and then at least u know your under your allowance x
 
Yeah that's what I thought - I've done the same again today and really don't fancy eating anything else! How are you getting on with your first week back on SW? x

Dinner: Jamaican Curry (2 onions, peppers, stock, piri piri seasoning, garlic salt, quorn chicken pieces, chillis) 125g boiled rice. 3 microwavable poppodams (5.5 syns)

Hexa: Little bit towards 1
Hexb: 2
Syns: 9.5
 
Hi g_2012 - yay another veggie :)

Sorry for the lack of posts - once again the weekend defeated me & then was away with work Monday & Tuesday.

I don't know what it is about the weekend that has been throwing me so off track recently, whether it be the lack of routine that I'm used to in work or just the fact the past few weekends have had a lot of temptation which I haven't been able to resist!

So started the weekend on a high note - 1lb off! Ok, so it's only a pound but after months of losing nothing and a naughty weekend the week before I was chuffed. However, I had such a busy day I didn't eat anything until I got to the chairty pub quiz me, my boyfriend and our friends were attending. So the chips and veggie sausage sat infront of me (that were included in the cost of the ticket) were too much to resist when I was so hungry. I'd also made myself be designated driver as to avoid the temptation of drink but as everyone decided to come back to mine after the white wine flowed until 3am - whoops!

Then hangover Sunday - sunday roast cooked by the OH's mum - not SW friendly, followed by a big slice of victoria sponge and then chip shop for tea :cry: It sounds so awful writing this down now!!

So back on the wagon Monday morning - but was away with work, had the usual things of jacket potato with beans, salads, ryvita, fruit etc only thing I'm concerned about is I that I had Morrisons salad box for tea Monday - filled with lots of veg and the tomato & basil pasta and the roasted veg cous cous. The ingredients looked pretty much free & superfree but think there may have been a bit of oil. Only had 4 syns in Velevt crunch though so not too concerned! Looking forward to a home cooked SW friendly meal tonight - and hopefully there won't be too much damage on Saturday!
 
Sounds like you had a good weekend though :) food sounds nice, I love the salad bar at morrisons but do also wonder how much oil is in the seemingly healthy cous cous/pasta/bean salad and bulgar wheat :rolleyes:

Yeah - I definitely think they can be a bit misleading - I couldn't see anything else in it that I thought would be synned though so fingers crossed...! x
 
Proud to say I was completely back on plan yesterday, but after a quick look through my recipe app on the ipad I realised I need to do another trawl for new recipes as I seem to be eating the same things all the time (chillie, curry, spag bol) so will be looking for some more recipes today :)

Breakfast : Apple, Alpen Light Bar - Chocolate Fugde (HexB)

Lunch: Apple, 2 Ryvita (HexB), Thai Sweet Chilli Velvet Crunch (4 Syns)

Dinner: Jamaican Curry (Celery, Onions, Peppers, Spring Onions, Steak Style Quorn Pieces, Curry Powder, Piri Piri Seasoning, Stock) with 125g boiled rice, 3 microwavable poppodoms (Had a look on the net and these are coming up as 2 syns each so will allow 6 Syns!) 1 Vanilla Mullerlight for desert.

Drinks: Coffee x2 (Milk is HexA), Diet Pepsi
