I joined slimming world in January 2012 weighing 14stone1/2pound. I have since got down to 10st7 but I am just struggling with the last 5lbs so I thought I would start a diary on here as it may make me more accountable to my binges etc!!

I did join previously in November 2010 and weighed 11st but really really did not like my consultant so I never went back and needless to say didn't follow the plan and piled an additional 3stone on. :(

It all went wrong for me (weight-wise anyway) when I met my partner - yep that old chesnut! I was a size 10-12 before that and had previously lost weight with weightwatchers. I hated feeling deprived though so I thought this time around I would try slimming world.

My tipping point was xmas/new year. xmas 2011 was our first in our new home and we had taken soooo many photos. My boyfriend went and had them all printed off and I sat and cried. I was much much bigger than I had ever been. and I looked so puffy and unhealthy! So 10th January I walked back into SW (thankfully with a new consultant and my Dad as moral support!)

I lost 5lbs the first week and while after that my losses have slowed dramatically down I have still had a general downward trend - with a few inevitable gains along the way. Slow and steady wins the race :s haha.

My partner proposed in October 2012 and it is our wedding 16th November 2013 (yep in less than 4 weeks time!) So my dream is to be at target by then. Then I'll be trying to maintain and decide whether I want to go lower.

So I am going to try and record food exercise and general feeling around food to try and see if this will help and maybe pinpoint some of my danger zones. I dont mind if no one reads it, more of something for me to see, but if anyone wants to point anything out or have a general chat feel free :D

So today so far...weigh in day... Went for my first Couch to 5k run/walk thing. 5k in 30 mins though according to map my run???
Breakfast I had dorset cereals (heb) a chopped banana and a shape 0%.
Lunch I had homemade leek and potato soup grapes and another shape 0% yoghurt.
I have had a headache all day - not sure if its the shock to my system with the run or what? I do always feel when I'm running that my brain is bouncing around in my skull - anyone have any thoughts on this?
I will be going for weigh in at 7pm and leaving the dinner prepared ready for J to get in oven.
Tonight we will be having chicken wrapped in bacon stuffed with l.cow blue cheese triangles (1/2hea) and sw chips and green beans. and then for desert either another shape yoghurt or I may go wild and blow some syns on a chocolate mousse?
I'm having such a hungry day today but I have eaten what I normally would and don't want to eat extra on weigh in day... Also I'm in work (yep such a hard worker at the mo) so dont have any other food with me. I'll just have to ride it out until 5.30pm at least!
 
Lost 2 at weigh in! Very happy with that. :D just 3 to go... And then the maintaining challenge! I had dinner as planned and had 1/2 syn worth of mayo and jelly. Was tempted to have a ripple just as my syns were so low but figure if I have a few low syn days it doesn't matter to much if I am at the top end at the weekend. Also had a Melba toast at sw so total for the day is 1 1/2. And want to stop rewarding myself with food. Kind of defeats the object I think!
 
Hey love :) Great work so far!!! 3lbs to go to target...I'm sure the c25k will help you get there :) I've not summoned up the courage to start it yet as I think I look a right twat running with my massive bum haha :) I'm waiting for darker nights so i have the cover of darkness in which to run.

Do you up your drinking and even a little food before/after your run? x
 
Hi Mandlegrot, thank you for your reply :) you are very close now as well...last 14lbs countdown!

I do drink alot anyway so don't think I upped my intake much. probably an extra pint? I tend to drink 2x 750ml bottles of water in work and about 6 cups of tea(thats the next challenge- after quitting smoking - i drink faaar too much tea)and then at home I drink 3-5 pints of sugar free cordial.

I didn't eat before I went but had my cereal and banana when I got back? Should I eat pre 'run'? and if so how far in advance and how much? - was up at 6am to go on the 7am run already - I need a few fags and mental motivation!

All set for today - breakfast had 1 hifi light (1/2 HEB) and a banana. After yesterday's hungry day I thought I'd best stock up so I basically have 3 lunches with me...homemade soup again (leek and potato), 2 ryvitas and laughing cow triangles (1/2 HEA&B) and a mug shot. along with the obligatory Shape yoghurt and grapes. I felt so hungry yesterday I contemplated the dreaded vending machine. I will NOT let that happen again!
J is out for tea tonight with work (a chinese boohoo) so I can choose what I would like to eat and now spoilt for choice.(nothing is quite as appealign to me as a Chinese) I either will have a tin of veggie curry(1syn) or macaroni cheese (3 syns) with a baked pot or chips and lots and lots of veg - got a sad looking courgette to eat and mountains of green beans and might get myself some spinach on the way home?
 
Decided on the mac n cheese and a baked pot with spinach courgette and green beans. Was yum! Very full and decided to treat myself to some milk and a muller desert and made the milk a milkshake with some sugar free crusha... So that's 3syns for dinner, 1/2 syn for some mustard, 1/2 syn for crusha and 4 1/2 for desert. Milk is a second HEA as kinda turned into a green day! Feeling very indulgent with this and watching notting hill...perfect! So 8 1/2 syns today...quite high for me but won't need extra syns for weekend I've decided as I'm not going to drink. :D
 
Scrap that I'm counting 10 today as I ate about 1/3 of desert and realised it was off (only 8 days out of date!) so have moved on to a choc one which is only 2 days out of date but tastes fine!
 
Food wise today is a good day I had Quorn Sausage (2syns) and fried eggs and mushrooms for breakfast with 1/2 syn worth of ketchup. Then lunch Ive just tucked into (Im on a 12-8 today) a wholemeal roll (HEB) and ham egg 1/2 syn of mayo and spinach and a packet of skips - was a 21.5g bag so counted 5 1/2? and a Shape 0% yoghurt. Im having low low pasta tonight with mushrooms, asparagus and green beans(this is the last of them!) and I'll probably have a muller desert so 5 syns so again quite a high day with a total of 13.5. I dont really like going over 10 but I do feel like I've had a really naughty lunch....havent had a sandwich and crisps for probably about 2 years haha.

In other non slimming world related things I'm not having much fun. I went to the shop to get my skips and some old biddy pushed infront of me in the queue. I mentioned to her that I was also queuing but she went on so I basically told her it was fine, but still she went on and on and on... Lack of basic manners really annoys me! Then I got back to work and my auditor had emailed me a query with regards to a case I had done. My job is VERY heavily regulated and if you fail 3 audits in a 6 month period then there are really serious consequences (money gets gone at least!). Basically she emailed me to clarify one detail before she gave me that big fat fail. I hadn't actually done anythign wrong and called her to explain (she had misread it!) but still it panicked me when I saw her email at first! So I am sitting here shaking like a leaf!
 
Decided to not have muller desert and just to have banana and grapes with a shape 0% yoghurt. Wasn't sure I was happy with how high syn my day was. Sooo 8 1/2 today :)
 
Food for today so far planned: Breakfast Hifi light - not sure how many yet might go for 2 but try and stick to just one so its speed banana and tangerine
Lunch - Baked potato, beans, and salad with balsamic dressing (1 syn?) with 40g reduced fat cheddar (my lunch is from works canteen but they only have full fat cheddar so I weighed my own and brought it in - crazy I know!) and a Shape 0%.
Tea - Quorn peppered fillet with SW chips and mushrooms and possibly spinach. For desert I'll either have a choc mousse (3 1/2 syns) or a muller desert (5 syns as its the milk choc one)

I get a nice early dart today as I am workign tomorrow (boo!!) but I only have to work 1 in 4 Saturdays and its only 4 hours - far cry from my retail days!!
 
I had my mousse and also a tsp of mustard and a tbspn of ketchup so 6 1/2 today. Just watching breaking bad with a diet cloudy lemonade then off to bed :)
 
Thank you :) it's Tuesday so got my fingers crossed! Always am good until about now though! It's the weekend that gets me! Alcohol is so high in syns haha. But trying for an alcohol free week! Do you have a diary? When is your weigh in?
 
So food today... Breakfast I have bacon quorn sausage, poached eggs mushrooms and beans. And ketchup. So 3 syns. Lunch I had 3 ryvita and 3 laughing cow triangles (HEA and B) and I'm going to treat myself to a Chinese Singapore vermicelli I think. Nothing on syns on app or book but have googled and general consensus seems to be around 7. So plumping for that! Going round to my mums for a girly evening might take a choc mousse and a snack a jack and fruit just incase. Not drinking though as I'm driving. :D
 
Ended up only eating about 1/3 of my vermicelli so counting 5. Had my choc mousse and snack a jack with my 4th laughing cow so total syns are 13 yesterday. Got a christening later so hoping I can make some good choices at the buffet. Not drinking though. Xx
 
So today: had smoked salmon scrambled egg and wholemeal roll with 2 laughing cow triangle for breakfast. Went to the christening and at the do after I had 2 chicken drumsticks (I took the skin off!) and 2 triangles of sandwiches one ham and one cheese. So I'm counting 8 syns(???). Tonight J wants a takeaway so I am having a tin of chickpea Dahl and adding spinach to it and I'll have a bit of his rice and maybe some mango chutney so I'll count 3 for that. Not sure if I'll have desert or a poppadom...
 
I've never managed to not eat loads before. I was a little naughty later on though. I had my poppadom and chutney etc. I then had a ripple and a piece of the christening cake. It was teeny tiny and I didn't eat the icing. It was fruit cake. So I think I'm going to count 5 for that. So I think my syns for the day come to....28.5. Glad I had that 1 1/2 syn day earlier in the week now!
 
Today's ears are planned as followed: breakfast I had porridge oats made up with water with a shape 0% through it and blueberries. Hadn't tried this before but wanted to save my a choice for my tea. It was actually really nice. The shape cooled the porridge enough to be eaten straight away which is good to know as this usually puts me off having porridge when I'm on an early. But I will have time in future! Lunch I have homemade soup shape 0% and fruit (probably banana tanger maybe and possibly pineapple!) I'll take a mugshot just in case. I'm on a late shift so have to wait it out till 9 ish for tea. Which is an omelette. Ham mushroom and cheese :) yummy! Probably have a tbspn if ketchup and a mousse after so hopefully have 4 1/2 syns today.
