Meezo's Diary of Loss

Hello gang,

Joined the forums a couple of weeks ago hoping to make some friends and have some support during my 'journey' :)

Started SW on the 15th of October 2013 and I lost 5 lbs in my first week. I was quite pleased with that loss, but I would have liked a bit more if I'm honest. However, that first week I was going through a lot of family issues, but tried my very best to stick to the plan and even managed three 1.5 hour sessions at the gym.

This week has been okay so far. I've stuck to the plan and aim to visit the gym for five 2 hour work outs (yesterday and today counting as two). I've reached that stage where I'm finding the exercise addictive and always wanting to go! Which can only be a good thing, right?

I used to live on sandwiches and crisps for breakfast, pies, crisps, biscuits before lunch, then a full English for lunch, followed by more pies, crisps and biscuits, before a huge deep fried meal in the evenings followed by pudding. And even then I'd make a sandwich and take some crisps up to bed with me before tucking into a big bar of Dairy Milk and washing it down with a can or two of Coca-Cola. It really does make me sick how bad my diet really was at that point.

My aim is to lose 5 stone by July 15th next year. My starting weight was 18 stone 11 lbs, and I'm hoping to get down to 13 stone 11 lbs. That's another 65 pounds to lose in 37 weeks. That means I need to lose an average of 2 lbs a week to achieve my target in time. Which is exactly what I was hoping for. If I could fit into 'Large' tshirts at the end of it, and perhaps into a pair of 36" jeans, I'd be extremely happy.

Next weigh-in is on Tuesday! Hopefully I've managed to lose 2-3 lbs so that I can proudly announce that I've lost half a stone! :)

Not sure how I'm feeling at the moment. I've tried sticking to the SW plan as much as I could this week, but I haven't been to the gym as often as I'd like. Feeling kinda bloated too, which can't be good.
Weigh-in on Tuesday, and I'm sure I won't have lost anything. My mum seems to think my 'love handles' have lessened slightly & my double chin is reduced (aren't mum's blatantly honest sometimes? lol) so that's keeping me going on the straight and narrow.
Depending on the weather tomorrow, I might give jogging a go. I've tried it before in the past, but never managed to stick with it for more than a week. But I wasn't going to the gym & doing SW last time I tried it.
Still hoping for a 2-3 lb loss on Tuesday! Positive thinking breeds positive actions!
:)

Hello,
Im impressed with the gym going! Well done you!
Sometimes your body bloates as its not used to the new better food.

What sort of things are you eating now?
Good luck for tomorrow!

P.s Yes mums really are - mine pulls a face - its as subtle as a sledge hammer!

Hi Emma,
I'm eating cereal in the morning (Asda Wholemeal Blueberry bites with skimmed milk) with a banana, usually scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast and some baked beans for lunch, and my evening meals tend to be something different each night. My favourite at the moment seems to be chicken breast, roast sweet potato, a bit of mushy peas and some broccoli :) Then if I'm peckish afterwards I'll have a Mullerlight yogurt. I also don't eat after 7pm.
My snacks consist of a handful of grapes now & again, or a handful of cherry tomatoes. They seem to be keeping me satisfied if my belly starts rumbling! I've also become addicted to green tea! :)

Got back from my weekly weigh-in not long ago, and I've lost 6 lbs! :) Definitely a boost in confidence!

You've done so well! :D I hope I can achieve what you've achieved! :)

do you have to syn the cereal? O I love scrambled egg and toast at the moment!
Not eating after 7pm is so strict - I couldn't do that I don't think, well not all the time.
OMG!!!! 6lbs!!! That's amazing!!!1 x

No, I HealthyB the cereal, HealthyA the milk, and syn the toast instead :) But I guess I could do it the other way around if I wanted.

If I have a good evening meal at about 6:30, I'm usually okay until I get to sleep at around midnight, so it's not too bad :)

Hoping I can get rid of at least 3 lbs this week so I can get my 1 stone badge! hehe x

Sounds like you are doing great, well done

Thank you Igg :) Long way to go, but I'm in no rush :) It's a change of lifestyle after all! I don't think you can do that overnight & expect it to stick, so I'm in this for the long haul! Loving how much fitter I already feel after losing 11 lbs, can't wait to see how I feel WHEN I reach target! :)

You are right, definitely not a diet, but a change of life style. And agreed the quick fix doesn't work. Good luck with your ongoing journey :)

Thanks lgg, you too! :) We CAN do this! :)

Had my cereal and banana, and now I'm off out to the gym for a while! :) I seem to be spending an hour and a half on cardio & half an hour on the weight machines, which is what I'm aiming for at this stage :) I want that stone badge on Tuesday!!

Despite only having had my cereal, two boiled eggs, several strips of cucumber, 5 baby tomatoes, a small piece of haddock and a handful of grapes today, and having been on a two hour walk around the local lake... I'm not feeling too good about the plan! I feel like I should be doing more somehow! Haha! Maybe I've got my mind set on losing my first stone by Tuesday? Who knows! Scrambled eggs and beans for brekkie in the morning I think :)

Not feeling good today again! :/ Had two poached eggs on two slices of wholemeal toast & a quarter of a tin of beans for my brekkie. Then while preparing a fruit salad (which I'll use for the next few days), I nibbled a bit on the fruit for my lunch. This evening I've got some salad ready & I'm going to have a portion of poached haddock with it & some baby tomatoes.

I'm just feeling full and bloated all the time :/ I do drink a pint of water every hour or two, maybe that has something to do with it? I also weigh myself on the fantastically unreliable bathroom scales every morning... and I get pretty disheartened when I don't see a change...

I know, I know, silly boy lol

Yes don't weigh every day, it really screws you up, been there, its the worst thing you can do, especially as you are working out to, the scales eventually need to be abandoned. Try not to feel down. Stay positive as you're doing really well. :D

Thank you so much for your kind words Igg! :)

Made myself a lovely SW quiche for my evening meal tonight. I put some broccoli, bacon, onion and mushroom in it, and it was gorgeous! It was my first time trying to make it too, so I'm very pleased with myself. So I had a slice of SW quiche with some SW chips and broad beans :)

Then I went out for an evening walk (I did last night too and walked to the neighbouring town and back which took about an hour) but I could only manage half an hour tonight as the weather is extremely rough!! (wind, rain, fallen tress, etc).

I'm planning on getting up early tomorrow and having my cereal, then heading on over to the gym for an hour or two! And then depending on the weather, I'll probably go for an evening walk again :)

Hiya just wanted to come and say how well your doing with your food and the gym. I feel bloated when I do extra easy and have to much potato or pasta. My tummy rumbles like anything.
Good luck for weigh in on Tuesday.!

Thank you so much autumnbabe, always nice to get some encouragement! :) I'm just hoping I can get that stone award on Tuesday! But I'll take any loss to be honest! :)

WOW, and let me just say how much of an inspiration you are too! :) Well done! Hope I can achieve how you've achieved!

Ah thank you. I'm hoping for my 2.5 award this week. Fingers crossed.

Its good to have little goals to set yourself. Then the big picture doesn't seem so far away. And sw is so easy to follow.
Its just a case of thinking ahead and planning what your having!
It comes easier the longer your doing it.
My husband has joined me this week. So see how he gets on. (see if he lasts the week, lol)

Good luck with weigh in tomorrow.!!!
Let us know how you have done.!!

I made the best sw chips yesterday. I could eat potato with every meal. Lol. I think that's why I have red days to stop me doing this lol.

Hope all is well and you have had a good week.

So I went for my weigh-in yesterday, and was extremely surprised to see that I'd lost 5.5 lbs! :D This came as a huge shock, because I was feeling like I'd only managed one or two this past week! So that was pretty darn encouraging! :)

This morning I made myself ready to go to the gym, but when I got there my card wouldn't scan. Turns out I forgot to pay to keep my membership going! Haha! Deciding that I'd rather join the gym which is about a mile away from my house (I can walk there and back! Yay!) I decided not to renew my membership. So I need to wait until 5pm to go and sign-up to this other gym and hopefully I'll get an induction today. Otherwise it will be tomorrow. I'm feeling a bit down because of that to be honest, because I haven't been to the gym since Sunday afternoon and I'm feeling extremely guilty! I can't go for a long walk today either because it's raining and has been for the majority of the day :( But I guess I shouldn't beat myself up about it too much. Having 3 days away from the gym isn't going to kill me lol! :)

So there we are! 16.5 lbs lost so far out of my 70 lbs target, 3 weeks and 1 day of diet & exercise! :)
