Hi Everyone :sign0144:,
I'm new to posting on this site. I've been using it for recipes and help since I rejoined SW in March but thought it was finally time to start posting.

My name is Abi, from South Shields I have 2 kids (aged 1 and 2) I joined in march 2013 after struggling to feel like myself again after having 2 difficult pregnancies and c-sections. I ballooned to 20 stone 5 pounds and was absolutely miserable.

I've been steadily losing weight and am now down to 15 stone 6 pound (Just 1 annoying lb away from my 5 stone award!) My interim target weight is 14 stone 5lb. My final target will probably be around 12 stone.

I absolutely love the plan, I occasionally have success express days/weeks, but feel I can be quite complacent recently. I was nominated for my groups Woman of the Year and crowned Miss Slinky for me group too and I don't want to let my group or myself down by being lazy with the plan or making excuses. I kept a food diary last week and found that to help so I thought I would keep it on here.

Well done you!!
I also had a c section and it's not nice afterwards when you see the change in your body, good luck with the rest of your journey xxx

I am also in the c section crew! Hate my tummy going over the top of my scar. My mission is to get rid of that! Well done with your losses so far!

I understand your pain...my scar isn't even straight !! & my tummy really does hang over it, it's awful to look at, I often wear the biggest pants I can and tuck it all in my pants :-/

Joys of being a woman eh?! X

Im so glad Im not the only one! :)

2 sections in 14 months, my tummy is AWFUL. big pants, leggings and skater style dresses hide a multitude of sins lol.

I was so proud of myself staying pretty much to plan all weekend. I often find it easy to be a bit naughty after weigh in on a friday and have a weekend treat. This week I resisted... until walkers sensations were reduced to 50p for a big bag. Before I knew it half of the bag was gone! SO annoyed at myself, it threw my whole afternoon off because they made me feel ill. My tea was on plan and yummy though.

I could make a million excuses for why it happened but the truth is I was just greedy (and I love a bargain lol) I've been through worse and still managed to stick on plan.

Wow! 2 in 14 months! My little boy is 18 months old and not sure I'm completely over the last one to have another yet!

I've not had the best of weeks but I'm hoping for a loss !! Drank so much wine & vodka on Friday all syns were gobs within the first hour!!! & I was drinking until well passed mid night!! Why do we do this to ourselves? I get a baby sitter & all he'll breaks loose....
Agh well fresh start tomorrow...did everyone have planned c sections or emergency not sure whether there is much difference in scar size etc I was literally slashed open and baby pulled out !!
(Emergency)

Hoping next one (if I do decide to have another) is natural and not so 'bloody' xxx

I found my second pregnancy hard because of the pressure on my scar, it took a LOT more recovering from too (I still wouldnt say Im there yet and she is 18 months now). It made for complications in labour too. I went in for a planned induction with both of mine because of medical issues. Ended up trying for 3 days with both (first one NOTHING happened and the second I was in labour for 16 hours before literally screaming for a section) Not much difference in scar size or recovery (think the nurses were a little more demanding of me after my second one, but my local hosiptal isnt the best) Silly thing is I would still have more lol, its all worth it in the end :D

Wine and vodka is possibly the best way to spend your syns! Do you drink red or white? I'm a red girl personally and what I do to make a glass last longer is mix it with diet coke (like you can mix white with lemonade) Obviously I would never mix a fancy bottle of wine but if its just your bog standard 3 for £10 bottle I think its worth it. You can still taste the wine, get merry and your syns last twice as long, just make sure the coke is room temp :) .x.x.x.

Draw a line under it and start a fresh the next day! I can see why you would like a drink in an evening with 2 small children! I have one and that's bad enough! No more for me for a while!
My section was planned, my son was breech, only found out when my waters went. That was a shock but had 9 hours to prepare for surgery.

Had a really good week on plan after the crisp incident. Went out for a lovely curry on Wednesday which is something I don't usually get to do with my partner, with having 2 young kids. I used flexi syns, counted up how many I would need to enjoy my night out without depriving myself of what I enjoy (chicken tikka masala, onion bhaji and poppadoms!) Ended up using less than planned as I didnt fancy the alcohol I had allowed for.

Was a bit worried come weigh day on friday morning as the toilet fairy just wasnt coming to visit (note to self need scan bran!!) but I still managed to lose 1 1/2 lb which meant I got my 5 stone and another cheeky SOTW! I couldve cried! I also came 2nd out of our large group for overall November weightloss. I really never though I would get this far, it just seemed like a have such a lot to lose. Ive now lost a quarter of my starting weight, which I think really puts it into perspective. Ive got 1 stone to go for my 2nd interim target and then another 2 from that to get to what I think will be my final target (but I may change my mind on that)

My amazing consultant David gave us a fab tool to use, hes created a month long calendar for December to help keep us on track, each day is split into 3 meal sections and the idea is to identify which meals may be danger areas, nights out etc and which meals can be food optimised to balance it out. Im actually really looking forward to filling it in, I may even post it for people on here to use.

Im now going to treat myself to a cheeky glass of wine (maybe 2 ;) ) and some nuts (hexb of course)

Someone slap me please?!?!

barely had any superfree yesterday, I didnt even really fancy any food.
Today I was holding a charity event, a Christmas party for the Childrens Heart Unit Fund. cake was nibbled and carry out for tea (far too tired to cook!) I had it planned but actually putting it into practice I feel awful and almost like I have failed or cheated. Can't wait to get back on it 100% tomorrow, I almost feel good that I don't enjoy the junk food and what would have once been treats, anymore. Makes doing the plan a lot easier and more enjoyable.

WELL!

Had a crazy week. We did 2 charity events for the Childrens Heart Unit Fund, the Christmas party and then a coffee morning on wednesday. I managed to not eat ANY cakes (which was VERY difficult) I did drink tea with REAL sugar dundunduuuuuun haha. We also had a friend visiting from Ireland who likes to spoil us so we were out for 2 meals and I drank ALL of the wine ALL of it! haha I made the best choices I could for the meals and was actually pretty pleased with myself, It couldve been SO much worse.

I totally crashed at the end of the week though and felt absolutely awful and really wasnt looking forward to my late weigh in on saturday morning. Im on acountdown though and was going if I liked it or not (my consultant wouldn't let me have a holiday even if I tried haha)

Anyway I weighed and nearly had a blummin kitten when she said I lost 5 1/2 lb!!! WHAT!!! Im now only 1lb away from 51/2 stone! and 8lbs away from my interim target! Cant believe it.

Anyway still feeling poorly I had a not so great weekend. I love the UFC and we usually have snacky food when we watch it and to be honest its still a bit of a danger area for me. I thought I had eaten loads of pringles but in looking at the tubs its not actually as bad as I thought. I think because I look at food so differently I feel like Ive eaten a lot more than I have. I used to be able to eat a whole tube of pringles without batting an eyelid! I also mixed it up and had a load of veg sticks as well so at least I got extra SF too.

Back on it as best I can this week. My son is going into hospital for 3 days in Leeds which is like 2 hours away from our home so either his dad or I will go and stay with him there. So its either cooking for one at home (which I am terrible at doing) or doing the best I can with hospital food, a fridge and a kettle! Trying to do monday and tuesday success express to minimise the damage but who knows.

On an awesome note my amazing consultant David asked me to be one of his angels on his social team. Apparently some of the group had suggested it and he agreed that I would be a good addition. Gave me the warm and fuzzies ^_^

.x.x.x.

Made white toast with butter on for CharlieBears breakfast and he doesnt want it! I would kill to be able to eat it! It smells so good
Think its going to be one of those days.

I hate the blog.

Last week was a horrible week, just one of those when life gets in the way.

Monday went fine, Tuesday my son was ill so we had to take him to hospital so food optimising was VERY difficult, did the best I could but knew it wasnt enough because I was hungry, Im NEVER hungry with this plan. We did get to meet the Newcastle Utd footballers so that was a bit of a silver lining. I also asked Charlie if I could have one of his magic stars and he actually said "no mammy, thats bad" 2 years old and saving me from myself haha. Anyway it meant he couldnt go to leeds for his op (yay) it DID mean the illness spread across the whole family. all 4 of us plonked on sofas feeling VERY sorry for ourselves.

My food wasnt bad as such, I just didnt eat or drink enough and put 1.5lb on. I was absolutely gutted. THEN mother nature turned up! I think Im being a little too hard on myself I already hit my 5 stone lighter by xmas goal and I wasnt off plan, it was just life.

Anyway I was straight back on it after weigh in on friday, no treats. Ate well fri & sat. Had a kids party sunday which was a long afternoon so had a carry out for tea, it was pre-planned though and flexi syns were used so I could have the things I want and really enjoy. I was very sensible too and stopped when I was full, usually I clear my plate if I want it or not with chinese food, but I stopped myself and even removed the prawn crackers from the room so I wouldnt munch on them absent mindedly while watching tv.

My inlaws have just informed us that they're visiting for the weekend so much wine will be drank (its needed lol) as long as I can get WI on friday morning without any hiccups I should be ok.

My aim is for 3lb this week so i can get my 5 1/2 stone but with star week showing up Im not sure it will happen so I will settle for the 1.5 that I put on last week. anything less than that I think I will be disappointed.

Went out for a spot of christmas shopping which naturally meant getting coffee with a friend. Luckily my coffee house of choice started getting skimmed milk in just for me after I asked for it so often (seriously Im in there about 3 times a week) I've also asked how much milk they use in a latte so I can have a better estimate for syn hexA. They are superstars when it comes to the food they serve too, the chef is amazing and always comes out to chat about the food to make sure its ok for me on SW haha.

Anyway, lunch was skipped today and I was starting to get hungry luckily I had my emergency alpen lights and theres a fruit and veg stall that have started doing huge bags of mini bell peppers that are so tasty for 50p! so I got some of those and a bag of grapes and that was me sorted (my friend thought I was an absolute nut job until she treid them haha) Had a lovely tea of grilled fish, rice with chopped peppers and a massive pile of spinach. Sticking to plan but thinking I could have a small glass of wine and still be well within my syns :D .x.x.

Thank You :) You've done incredibly well too!

I eat quite a large range of food, I try to stick to having my hexb on a morning usually weetabix or porridge. hexa is usually milk in my tea and coffee (I drink a LOT)
If Im organised enough to make them I make the pasta quiche and freeze it then have a portion for lunch, either that or veggie soup or quite often eggs for dinners.
Tea could be anything but I do try to cook a meal every night, I'm not a huge red meat eater (though I love steak) so in the house its usually fish, chicken or quorn. I eat a lot of spinach because it cooks so quick and broccoli with it being so versatile.
I also swear by asdas frozen summer berries. I keep them in the fridge and spoon them onto breakfast or into yogurts.
I usually have liquid syns- hot chocolate and wine are my treats.
I like to snack on veggie sticks, sliced ham or chicken or fruit. That isnt me torturing myself and being strict, I really do like them and Im usually making finger food snacks for my kids anyway.

You really have done so well! I noticed one of your comments somewhere when you said to the girl if they miss something they used to eat then make it sw friendly, it was just so positive and such a fab idea! Really we don't have to feel like we are missing things , we just need to make it the right way!! Anyway your food all sounds fab! Have you got before and after pictures too?
